Q is for Queen

art by mary engelbreit, embellished by me.

We moms are awesome, aren't we?
Go ahead and say 'Yes!" It's OK to acknowledge our accomplishments
and talents!  If you're a mom, have you counted the number of hats
(or crowns!) you wear?  And most often, we wear more than one at a time
because we, after all, are generally great at multi-tasking! :)
I like to joke here on my blog that I have a wonder woman tiara and
someone (who shall remain nameless) is trying to give me the 'crazy cat lady' crown.
I'll gladly add those to my wardrobe..... hahaha  ...along with the regular mom hats!

Just to name a few of our hats we all wear... we're the chief cook, nurse, chauffeur,
counsellor, mind-reader, disciplinarian, house keeper, accountant, shrink,
interior designer, baker, shopper, secretary, mediator, dish-washer,
tailor, dietitian, veterinarian, gardener, cheerleader, mechanic,
nose and bottom wiper, science project coach, seamstress,
barber, doctor, teacher, activity coordinator, hostess, referee,
laundress, germ-killer, protector, best listener and friend.

We also have great memories, great intuition, and eyes in the back of our heads!

We also set the mood of the entire family, have you noticed?

And we are on call 24/7!

And most of us earn some type of paycheck besides all of that!

So, Q is for Queen.  Because we really are Queen of Everything!

I've joined the A to Z Challenge for the month of April!
We are celebrating the letter Q all day, Thursday the 19th!

    3. AMEN lolol.
We ARE the mood setters for the whole family.

My husband subscribes to the wisdom of the bumper sticker that says " IF MAMMA AIN'T HAPPY...AIN'T NOBODY HAPPY"

      Thanks for sharing...
Hope things are going well for you guys. Haven't spoken with you in a while. I trust that Spring has completely Sprung in your part of the world?
We are dealing with pollens a few months earlier than usual...woohoo. This translates to lots of students with drippy noses and red scratchy eyes. It would be comical if I weren't dealing with a drippy nose and scratchy eyes too. Lol

Anyway... Hope you and your guys are happy and healthy.

      In Him,
      Grace

    4. Hi Grace...yep that's right and I try to remember that if I act angry or stressed soon everyone else does, too!

The word is that my area of Ohio is 5th on the list for the top areas of the country with the worst pollen right now. I'm miserable and most certainly have OD'd on allergy meds. lol.
Almost makes me want winter back! ha.

  2. Wow I'm tired just reading all of that
Bottom wiper is just eww to the cat
    You can keep that title
With it the cat will remain idle
And no one would even notice the cat crown with all of those crowns about
But I'll be sure and give it a shout
Germ killer I can do quite well though
And remember everything at my show
The rest it is just too much for me
I'll go hide in the bush with the tush at bush number three

    2. LOL poor kid would have no rear
Oh that would be something to fear
I suppose at least he wouldn't get sick
So that would do the trick

      Delete
    3. no rear, but he'd be really, really clean. hahaha.
you might have to share your Pringles, though
      at your show!

    4. I'm sure that I could do
I would just hide some from view
And buy a few extra if need be
Plus that be more empty ones for each kitty..haha

    5. yep, parents always have a secret stash
hiding places to make things last.
      haha.
We've been known to hide things, it's true
      chips, crackers and chocolate, too.
      :)

  7. I suppose so :) although sometimes I feel more like a wondering woman. haha, it's all good though. Thinking is good exercise for the brain, which is the only part of me that got much of a workout today on account of the chilly much needed rain. My pocketbook however got worked over a bit too! groceries are not free you know :)neither are the plants for the deck and porch that found their way into my vehicle. Let the fun begin!!

    1. wondering woman...haha...well, I suppose that's better than a wandering woman. lol. :)

so flowers jumped into your vehicle like things jump into my cart? lol.

    2. yes they do! I went for groceries (walmart) and less then 20 minutes after I got there I was walking out of the garden section with a hibiscus, oleander, 2 topiaries, a palm tree and a fern!! haha I blame the rain for preventing me from working outside. and yep wondering is a notch above wandering.ha

    3. Oooh..you got some really nice things! Our Walmart has had a really nice assortment of stuff, too. It's irresistible when you have spring fever!

    4. definitely Spring fever! Not usually that far out of control :) can't say though what I would have done if they would have had, say... 2 Vanilla Strawberry Hydrangeas! I want!!

  14. You are so right on. That's why I flipped out when Ms. Rosen smugly said (to her error) that Mitt Romney's wife had never worked a day in her life. Are you kiding me?!! She raised 5 kids, which is worthy of retirement. Go moms!

  23. True to all those hats, but that makes every woman the Amelda Marcos of hats then, doesn't It? lol yes, everyone should appreciate everything their moms do and/or have done for them, for even those who don't get along with, or perhaps worse, with their mothers, well, just remember, if it wasn't for them, you would not be you. Great post Betsy. Thanks
