No, this pig is not part of my zoo. :)
But he is someone's pet! I snapped these photos after working an auction not too long ago.
Hmmm. I think I'd rather have my cats, parakeets, and bunny.
I know it's hard to see just how big he is, but I think
I could have easily thrown a saddle on him and gone for a ride. lol.
Funny thing is, there were two tiny dogs running around the yard.
I was a little scared for them that they could have easily become dinner!
I've joined the A to Z Challenge for the month of April!
We're celebrating the letter R all day, Friday the 20th!
♥
A PET!! My hat! that would be a different one to have!! Rather them than me :)
ReplyDeleteyeah...that is one pet I don't even want! ha.
DeleteWow, that is one big pig. I've known people who have pigs as pets before, but I've never seen such a pig, I wonder what his name is. I hope it's not something corny like Porky, would be fitting but I don't know lol
ReplyDeletePorky...hahaha! I can't imagine feeding that thing. I guess he'd take all the food scraps from the kitchen. Still...it's not like he could sleep on your feet at night. lol...
DeleteI heard Betsy the pigs are nice pets lol
ReplyDeletei love when are little are so nice!
those little pot bellied pigs? Yes, I've heard that, too!
DeleteI had a hard time figuring out which end was what, (oh I'm bad!).
ReplyDeletehaha...Oh, that made me laugh! I'd be tempted to have him turned into bacon and pork chops!
DeleteMy uncle Miguel (many. years ago) had pigs but not like pets; nope they care them to eat!!
ReplyDeleteoh yeah...we have friends that raise them for food...sausage. yum. ha.
DeleteI bet it costs a lot to keep that pet in food!
ReplyDeleteOh, I know! I can't even imagine...probably as much as a horse! ha.
DeletePigs are fun to look at, or turn into banks, but I don't think I'd want one running around the yard with my children. Who climbss on that play set, Porky?
ReplyDeleteMy dad was almost killed by an angry sow when he was a little boy. He ran screaming from one side of the enclosure to the other until his mother finally came running out and grabbed him. He said every other day the pig was friendly, but that day she was feeling particularly ornery.
I'm sure he eats everything out there. I noticed there weren't any flowers. lol.
DeleteI bet they could be dangerous if they were angry!
That's a really big pig. I'd be wary too.
ReplyDeleteHe needed a leash! haha....or bridle?
Deletewow thats a whole lot of pig!
ReplyDeletedon't you want to paint him? lol...
DeleteWOW that is one big pig
ReplyDeleteHaving that running about would flip Orlin's wig
Porky can stay on the farm
Feeding him would raise an alarm
As you went to the store
And got groceries galore
Blabber goes on about the micro pig ones
And likes them tons
Even though they still get rather large
But no where near as big as the sucker at that barge
I just don't think pet pigs are for me.
DeleteThey surely don't smell sweetly.
I'm sure they aren't clean and tidy
like cats, who groom themselves widely.
His face looked like it had never been washed.
Cassie would never approve, of course!
oh come on betsy...you need a pig...how can you call yourself a real zoo without a pig...snort...oink, oink...
Deletelol....it's a pseudo zoo then...totally pigless. except little piglets like Wilbur would be ok. haha.
DeleteWell that is the case with normal ones
DeleteThey'd give my ocd runs
But here is the one you should get for your zoo
Then you could make your twin happy too
http://valleyblossoms.com/index.html
haha...oh, look at those piglets!
DeleteDid you look at the gallery of snap shots?
I'll admit they are cute
even their little snoots.
The price is out of sight
but they seem like good pets day and night.
If I got a black one it might be
hard to tell him apart from Nuggy.
lol.
LOL yeah the price is crazy
DeleteBut Orlin's would too make your eyes go hazy
He was even more..haha
No wonder he has a big ego at my shore
And see you can now have a pig
Even give it a wig
It and nugget would get along grand
Sure it would fit right in at your land..haha
You could get a little potbellied pig! This one is a big 'un!
ReplyDeletethat would be a little more manageable! ha. But the cats might think he's lunch! haha.
DeleteOh Betsy ~ I'm so bad....but I kept thinking honey baked, apricot glazed.... So sorry little piggy, I'm ashamed of myself.
ReplyDeletehaha...I wonder if that's what his owners are thinking???
Deletethat poor pig is obscene...I wonder what they are saving him for??!! ack!
ReplyDeleteI know! I wondered the same thing. Is he a pet or the next Christmas feast? haha.
DeleteI used to know a pub landlord who kept a pet pig. Nothing as big as this one, though!
ReplyDeleteIt would be a novel conversation piece in a pub! This big, though, and you'd be afraid he'd be woofing down the beer nuts! lol.
DeleteAwww he looks much loved and cared for! Yay! Take care
ReplyDeletex
He certainly doesn't look like he's starved or anything! :)
DeleteBetsy we talk a lot about this piggy but he really look happy and enjoy life ha!
ReplyDeletelol!
yes, he does! He's fat and happy! hahaha.
Deleteof course a fat and big porky really happy!lol
Deletehaha..yes, they kind of go together, don't they? lol.
DeleteOh my. I think our dog eats a lot but surely he eats less than this RBP. Very funny picture
ReplyDeleteRhonda ~ we could fill our freezers with pork chops and ham, couldn't we? Move over freezer biscuits... hahaha.
DeleteREALLY big pig for sure...too funny. Please come by my blog today and link up a recipe - I'm a new co-host and am very excited. Enjoy a fabulous weekend Friend. http://thebetterbaker.blogspot.com/2012/04/invitation-party-potluck-yall-come.html
ReplyDeleteok...will stop by, Marsha! :)
DeleteThat P-I-G is one B-I-G S.O.B.!!!
ReplyDeleteyep...you wouldn't want to run over him with your car...would certainly cause some damage! ha...a little more than the easter bunny, right?
DeletePortly for sure.
ReplyDeleteIndeed he is!
DeleteYou should have brought home the bacon. :)
ReplyDeletehaha...good one! :) It would have fed a lot of people...and just think, if you lived close, it could have been a bacon and eggs feast! lol.
DeleteThe pig is too funny!
ReplyDeleteBetsy...the photographer of everything and anything....
you never know what you will need the picture for. ;~)
Take care,
Nancy
when there's that little ground clearance, sturdy legs are a must.
ReplyDeleteThat's one big pig. We nearly bought a large house with some friends to set up a small holding, pigs were one of the first things we said we wanted, more as pets than for raising for food. I then realised I was too much of a city girl and pulled out of the idea. The friends are close to having enough money to set up alone and I'll be straight round to see their pig/s once acquired.
ReplyDeleteI think I am in love!!! Pigs are my all time favorite animal. I've always wanted one since I was a little girl!!!! Do they need a babysitter or a cuddle buddy for their adorable pet???? Just asking...
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!!!!
