C is for Coffee

Yeah, I'm addicted.
I started drinking coffee 18 years ago when I had
a two year old and newborn triplets.
Yep, 4 hours of sleep a night requires a little caffeine!

Last week, Pat broke my coffee maker!  Really!
Things break in threes around here and when we had a laptop die,
he said my coffeemaker would be the next to go...and in a few days it went!

I loved my coffeemaker so much, I ordered the exact same one and
found a great deal on Amazon.com.   It's a Cuisinart with a Thermal Carafe.
My regular readers know that I keep it on my bedside table and
use it as my alarm clock.  That way I can sit up in bed and drink a cup of
coffee even before my feet hit the floor.  Such a lovely way to start the day!

Well for 5 days while I waited for it to come in the mail, I drank
super strong black tea which was ok, but not the same!
When I went to Trader Joe's later in the week I got these cute little
instant coffee packets...just add hot water and they even have the
perfect amount of cream and sugar already in there!
Another great use for our Zojirushi hot water machine, too!

In my collage I have two photos of my steamy cup of coffee.
One fogged up the camera lens.
One got photo editing squiggles from me.
ha ha.

  2. wow, those little packets sound great, I have never heard of them, we are so slow to get things here in Canada, I think coffee is a pretty tame addiction, some weeks the Doctors say its even good for us,, with triplets and a toddler I would say you need coffee, wow!

    1. they had a news story out not too long ago listing the health benefits of coffee...prevention of Alzheimers and all sorts of stuff! Better than drinking soda to get the caffeine, I'm sure. :)

  3. When our children were young, I told them C was for Cookie.
Now, I agree, it's for Coffee!

Glad you are back into the swing of things, coffee mug in hand.

    2. I have chocolate chip cookies, cupcakes, and strawberry pie here. ☺ too much sugar I agree, but with 2 birthdays 4 days apart it usually happens. I'd be more than happy to share!

  4. I love your coffee collage! :)

I am on my 4th round of ABC Wednesday and feeling a little overwhelmed. I've been turning in my assignments late and *gasp!* cheating sometimes. Tomorrow we are on to the letter H.

I notice the squiggle edit because I thought your coffee cup was so pretty.

    1. Wednesdays wouldn't be too bad...at least you have a whole week in between. These that come daily are going to be a bit of a challenge I'm afraid! haha.

cheating? how can you cheat? lol....

    2. Last week was K but I hadn't posted for J yet, so I made my entry "Just Kidding", I've used "Albuquerque" for Q, and even came up with ABC Thursday. Once I had already posted but had such a wonderful new idea that I posted twice in one week. :)

      Delete
    3. Oh, that's not cheating...that's being very creative. ha.

    4. It was the middle of the night, 4 am, and I couldn't sleep. My mind bounced like a ping pong ball. Somehow I got thinking about ABC Wednesday and wondered what my next entry would be... H... H... I thought to myself, and it suddenly occurred to me that H comes after G and we just finished up J last week. Now you know what a complete LUNATIC I really am. I believe I may actually be LOSING IT.

All this to say, I really do know my alphabet even if I always hated alphabetizing. (Now you know why.)

  5. LOL I knew it would be coffee
As cats would be the other one at your sea
And you didn't sound like you would do them just yet
    Sooner or later I bet

STILL not over me breaking it
Geez you need to let that go a bit..hahahaha
Just can't stand I was right
I'll be nice and say the 3rd thing to go is nothing more than a night light

Although I wish I had some caffeine today
Just blah at my work bay
Maybe I should try the coffee thing
Or not as I could get to hyper at my wing..haha

    1. haha...just had to give it to you one more time
for being a prophet worth more than a dime.
The third thing to break was my watering can.
Cheaper than the other two breaks at my land.
It was such a relief I was barely sad
just said "I'm glad I didn't ask that Pat lad!"
      lol...

yep, the kitties will have to come into play
      somewhere in the alphabet relay.

      and you needed caffeine today
are you feeling alright? I'd say
you better get to bed earlier
      so tomorrow you are cheerier.
      hahaha.

      Delete
    2. haha I don't mind taking the blame
Glad the last break was rather tame
And you did not need me
To point out what would be number three..haha
I know the kitties will come due
As you have to with the ever growing number at your zoo..haha
Yeah bed and early doesn't seem to come anymore
For some reason here at my shore
Need to try that once again some day
Maybe the energy will come back at my bay..haha

      Delete
    3. Geesh, are you getting sick?
have some germ you need to kick?
      But look at you,
      after midnight visitng my zoo
get to bed you little loon!
      hahaha.

      Delete
    4. haha no just too many late nights
Before I turn off the lights
      Feel better now though
As I sleep for ten hours in a row
      So no germs on me
      Thankfully..haha

      Delete
    5. sleep is usually the best remedy
      no matter what your destiny
better end the email chats earlier
as you can always chat the next day with her.
lol....ducks.. (incase you're still throwing knives)
as unlike a cat, I don't have nine lives. hahaha.

      Delete
    6. LMAO stupid hour time difference comes into play
But I suppose sleep could be needed at my bay
As it does make all go away
But the cat and Pat still need to have their say

      Delete
    7. haha...couldn't resist

A few months later he went on a business trip for a week and I knew I'd never wake up on my own each morning. And I hate the buzz of alarm clocks, so that was my solution. I loved it so much it has never left the bedroom! lol.

Your dinner sounds delish. Salmon is one of my favorites. I think I told you we have ham...which is fairly tradition for our country for Easter. Usually spring vegetables like asparagus and little new potatoes.

  13. It's amazing what kids will do to you :-) I started drinking coffee when Son #1 was a toddler and old enough to play on his own. I'd sit in the kitchen with my coffee and the newspaper, and Son would be in the living room. The house rule was that he couldn't disturb Mommy when she was drinking her coffee. I learned to nurse my one cup for a VERY long time!
