These berries were part of my lunch today.
Here they are in my favorite vintage berry colander,
washed and ready to sprinkle over yogurt.
Beauty in the ordinary, right?

I am all about the strawberry. Though, naturally, we have a plethora of blackberries on our farm.
ReplyDeleteI have a strawberry patch but it's hard to keep the coons away. :(
DeleteStrawberries are my favorite too, but we naturally have a plethora of blueberries instead. :)
ReplyDeleteThose red raspberries are looking mighty tasty... Last time I prayed for red raspberries God gave me blackberries. They were yummy too.
Deletethose raspberries were especially sweet! I didn't have any grown in the yard last year...not sure what happened to my patch! But these were from the grocery, of course, being this early.
DeleteLove them all! I had some blackberries and strawberries today :)
ReplyDeleteMe, too...don't really have a favorite! Hey, we were on each other's blogs at the same time!...and talking about berries. ha.
Deletelol - have a great week, it's gonna be a busy one here. Kind of short too with an Ohio trip in there at the end. The kids are all looking forward to it though, as are we, it's been a whole year since we were there!
Deletehave a wonderful trip!
Deletemy boys are on spring break this week...should be fun at my zoo! hahaha.
My plethora of berries is currently in the freezer. I am not sure how I will get them all used up... Pie, maybe?
Deletewhat a nice dilemma! :) I'd throw them in everything if you were trying to use them up before this season's comes on. ...muffins, pancakes, pie, in yogurt, My favorite is crisp...that takes up 5-6 cups. yum.
DeleteI have no favorite berry
ReplyDeleteAs I just find them scary
I thought you'd have another with a face
Right in the middle of the space
Not a one to be had
Guess they ran out at your pad
Have a berry nice night
As you berry you head and turn out the light
more than one face a week
Deletemight make everyone scream
as they already think I'm crazy
and my brain a little hazy.
So we went with faceless ones
and ate them up one by one.
haha so you saved the ones with the face
DeleteAnd they didn't get chowed down at any pace
That will sure make them smile
Not getting added to the to be eaten pile
i think blackberries are my favorite I love like smell but really I love all berries always lol!
ReplyDeletebeauty pic Betsy:)
DeleteI love the color of blackberries when they are baked in a crumble or pie...that dark blue-purple color? Lovely!

DeleteMy favorite berry is blueberries!! Yum :) Very colorful and pretty lunch!
ReplyDeleteand not a single strawberry!...toothless or otherwise! lol.
DeleteOh, you have all of my favorites in that beautiful colander...poured over Almond pound cake with whip cream. No calories there, I'm guessing. (o:
ReplyDeletealmond pound cake? oh my gosh...
DeleteYou are all making me very hungry.
ReplyDeletewish you were here...I'd serve you a bowlful! :)
DeleteBerry goodness! Woot :)
ReplyDeletethank you berry much! ha.
DeleteI'm a fan of all berries, but blueberries are my favorite. Funny...for "B" I totally expected you to choose birds. Instead, I did. What? Seems backward. :-) I must say, your berries look mighty delicious.
ReplyDeletehaha..oh, that is so funny. I did think of bird. And cat for C. Trying not to be totally predictable, although...if I draw a mental block today, C may well turn into cat. lol.
DeleteRaspberries, why has nobody chosen raspberries - the finest berry by far. Indeed, a dish of fresh raspberries sprinkled with sugar must be in the top five greatest pleasures known to man (or woman) kind.
ReplyDeletethey are one of my favorites! Good choice, Alan! They are delicious just as they are...and really don't even need the sugar. When I pick them, most go straight into my mouth! ha.
DeleteI'm with Alan! Red rasberries are my favorite, but they are pricey---so blueberries are more common on my table. Just thinking about red rasberries makes me smile. Yummy!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletethey were on special at our grocery last week....maybe they will be for you, too.
DeleteHow are you doing? I've been thinking about you!
A bowl of beautiful berries!! Yay!!
ReplyDeleteTake care
x
I thought so, kitty....had to take it's picture! :)
DeleteGoodmorning! My favorite berry is all of them lol.I love fruit and they all taste pretty good to me.Reminds me to have some cereal now with strawberries on it.Have a happy Monday!
ReplyDeletemmm...I love cereal with fruit on it! Yummy!
Deleteha, your zoo, my circus, it's all the same thing! lol
ReplyDelete~Martha~ use them in smoothies, that takes up quite a bit too or perhaps concoct a few berry milkshakes, or the list above, it all sounds good. can't go wrong with berries!
smoothies...that's a great idea...and frozen ones are perfect for that!
DeleteMmmm...I love berries. I love raspberries the best and planted some raspberry plants several years ago. Wild blackberries seem to be taking over. I'll take them too! We have a blueberry patch here and get tons of those (they're my least favorite).
ReplyDeleteI need to plant a blueberry bush. Everyone that has them says they take over! ha. I'd love to have that problem!
DeleteHi Betsy how are you today? I wanna plant blueberry too!
DeleteMorning, Gloria! Yes, I think we both need a blueberry plant! :) I'm good today. How are you and Esparanza? Better?
DeleteEsperanza is better thanks Betsy but she still is angry with me :( sigh!
DeleteOh dear. She will get over it. So she got to go back to school? I'm sure it feels good to have the house empty for a change! You had a long week last week! I took 2 days off from doing laundry and now I have a mountain of it! lol. My boys are home..on spring break this week, so no solitude for me. ha.
DeleteYes I know dear was a terrible she doesnt talk with me! she is mute!lol Is OK I know how is she and yes she was to school.
DeleteI have to make a lot of laundry too lol
Oh, she will be fine. Deep down she knows you were right and she was too sick to go to the concert.
DeleteMy whole house needs cleaning. But I need to do laundry first. ha.
Not all clean
DeleteGeez those cats must really be making a scene..haha
haha...they are shedding! And five men can make a mess, too...you should see the loo. lol.
DeleteLOL I do not want to see that
Deletemight curl up the nose of Pat..haha
all clean now
Deletedon't have a cow.
lol.
Yum, those berries look quite tasty, and nice picture of them. Strawberries are my favorite berry. I've always been fond of them and I started liking them even more when pregnant. I remember going to one of the local farm "stands" in early summer during first trimester when my sense of smell had just increased. I walked into the building and the scent of strawberries filled the air. I could almost taste them.
ReplyDeleteI have strawberry plants in my backyard which I'm hoping to get a chance to transplant in a sunnier spot along with protecting from the local wildlife.
aw..thanks for sharing that. Isn't it funny how we all remember what tasted especially good when we were pregnant? For me it was ice cream and Mexican food...and cherry pie. yum.
DeleteYummmmooooo...I love berries and the season is just starting! :-)
ReplyDeleteI know...one of the best things about the change in seasons is the change in foods!
DeleteWhat a beautiful bowl...sorry...I mean berries. :)
ReplyDeletehaha...yep, that could have been the B, too!
DeleteI'd be hard pressed to choose a favorite. I love them all! We have been enjoying blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and mangos for dessert almost every night for the last month or so!! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeletemango....yum!
DeleteI love all berries but, as I don't grow them, they can be expensive. Raspberries are my favourite - it used to be that they were a seasonal treat when you couldn't buy them out of season, but now they import them all the time.
ReplyDeletethat's the way it is here....if you want to pay, you can have most things year round!
DeleteThat's a colander? Wow, too cool!
ReplyDeletePsst Betsy wouy go to make the letter C? You kno sometimes I havent PC and I wanna comment you !
