After nine months of befriending a litter of kittens, I finally have one that will come inside and curl up with me. She sits in the window box and will come in if I open the window! ha. She still wants to be wild, though, and will disappear for days at a time. But when she's around, she's welcome to keep me company. Although, it's a little hard to use my laptop when she's laying on my hands or the keyboard. :)
♥
Awwww sweet little guy!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots.
ReplyDeleteoops! I mean sweet little girl. In my hurry to be first I mixed genders. :)
ReplyDeleteShe's a girl...haha...even with whiskers. Her twin Mustache is a boy, though!
ReplyDeleteHere's my lemon bar recipe I was talking about that uses all of those eggs. :)
http://myfivemen.blogspot.com/2010/03/lemon-bars.html
With a name like Whiskers, it's easy to mistake her for a male... Well... from a distance, anyway.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, those look so good and yummy!! I'll have to try them--I thought about making some tonight, but I don't have a lemon cake mix. :(
ReplyDeleteSilver, so I'm excused for my mistake. :)
ReplyDeleteRebecca ~ I used a yellow one and put 2 T of lemon extract in the filling.
ReplyDeleteSilver ~ I wonder if she'd like Orson. :)
Alas, I have no lemon extract either. :)
ReplyDeleteSilver coming to your defense...how 'silver-rous' of him! ha.
ReplyDeleteShe look nice betsy, nice pics!
ReplyDeleteWell, after reading Betsy's comment about Mustache, at first I was going to say, "With a name like Mustache, he'd better be a 'he.' " Then I thought, well, Whiskers sounds like a masculine name, too. (Having a beard, of course I think that way. There are people who've complimented my whiskers!)
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ she is nice..a little whiney, but nice. ha. If you pet her, she quiets down. But if you don't pay any attention to her, she's in between your legs, trying to trip you up crying. ha.
ReplyDeleteYes Betsy, he's a knight in silvering armor. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Gloria!!
thats remember a little cat we had by a time (esperanza take from the street) and ehn I was at computer she (was a she too) climb until my head aso sometime I type with her in my head!
ReplyDeleteHi rebecca!
ReplyDeleteSilver, I'm rather partial to whiskers on a man--my hubby has a beard. :)
ReplyDeleteShe looks quite content
ReplyDeleteUnder your tent
Coming and going at ease
And sitting where ever it is that will please
Like right in front of you
So your attention will have to come due
Wait until she tries to type
And then idgjosdjpofshdgsk come out of the pipe..haha
Sometimes I change the style or shape of mine, but I've had a beard quite often during my adult life. I've had this one for about twelve years, now.
ReplyDeleteSilver ~ I named them before knowing their sexes. Hence Marmalade with the girly name! ha.
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ they are sweet like that, aren't they? I'm enjoying her!
Pat ~ oh, she's done that a few times...typed a bunch of crazy rhymes. Well, the didn't really rhyme but she deleted a few lines of mine!
Hubby grew his when we were dating and shaved it off for the wedding (a request of his mother), and grew it back during the honeymoon, and has had it ever since. 14 years. :)
ReplyDeleteGood thing animals aren't sensitive about their names like humans are.
ReplyDeleteawww too cute...out new little one likes to snuggle on our chest at night when we or playing cards or watching tv...
ReplyDeletehaha well when she wants to tease
ReplyDeleteAnd no longer wants to please
She'll pull an Orlin and chew the keys
Of just scatch at your toes and knees..haha
Oh Whiskers! Such a perfect name and too cute. Doesn't it just make your day better when an animal is snuggled up with you? :-)
ReplyDeletePat ~ Scratch at my knees?
ReplyDeleteOh, that would not please!
She's keeps drawing blood
even when she's just playing for fun!
Our feral mother cat has been gone all summer and she now is back getting food since it is cold and snowing. She does let us pet her but she is so scared of any fast movements. I am so glad the kitty is coming in now. I think she might get closer and closer the more times she comes into the house.
ReplyDeleteLarry ~ it's nice to know I'm not the only one caring for the ferals. :)
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ I cooked all day, dear...getting ready for tomorrow. Now my kitchen floor needs mopped! I'm too tired...I think I'll wait for tomorrow! ha.
ReplyDeleteHope you can rest betsy I make a lot of things today too and Im so tired!
ReplyDeleteBetsy, I found a lemon bar recipe that called for four eggs and doubled it. It's in the oven now! My kitchen could use mopping too!
ReplyDeleteSweet pictures! Whiskers is a cutie.
ReplyDeleteanyways dear Rebecca you have alot of eggs:)))
ReplyDeleteRebecca ~ that's perfect! You'll have to share if it turns out to be a good recipe! Did you use lemon juice?
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ I'm going to leave the house cleaning until tomorrow. I need to rest with a cup of tea now. ha.
Why lemon squares, anyway? I thought Super Bowl partygoers usually wanted beer, pretzels, and raw meat? Ha!
ReplyDeleteI heard pizza and chicken wings are the most popular Super Bowl fare. :)
ReplyDeleteChicken wings are a waste of time. All bones, no meat. I like chicken strips, the so-called "boneless wings." Sometimes they call them chicken fingers, or something else, but as long as it has the right kind of hot sauce (NOT barbecue sauce, that's usually boring).
ReplyDeleteYes the terrible is clean the house, hope you can rest betsy!
ReplyDeleteMaybe tomorrow I make my post that I tell you is almost ready:)
Silver ~ true...wings really don't have much meat on them!
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ I'm looking forward to your post! :) I'm sure I'll be online during a lot of the game. I'm not a big football fan. :)
what pretty eyes and snowy whiskers!
ReplyDeleteI hope (crossings fingers) you said that? the englisg people always said (lol) to be ready in the morning because in the afternoon maybe I go to my Mom house
ReplyDeleteHi, Martha~ she does have the snowy whiskers, doesn't she? And a white stripe down her belly to match her paws. :) I see on my sidebar you made Stromboli! Yum. I haven't made that in years!
ReplyDeleteOK...I'll be looking for it. Hope you have a nice visit with your mom and dad! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Betsy
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ is your dad feeling alright now?
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute : ) She has really settled in and made herself at home.
ReplyDeleteCat ~ now if she'd just stay and give up the wild life! ha.
ReplyDeleteAwwww...she is so sweet! My cat loves to lay on my hand when I'm trying to type too!
ReplyDeletePretty soon she'll be taking over the entire house. :)
ReplyDeleteMartha ~ maybe...but she wants out after an hour or so. ...still have that wild streak. :) I keep telling her the domesticated life is so much nicer. ha.
ReplyDeleteYou're pretty good at taking photos with only one hand :-)
ReplyDeleteKathyG ~ HA...I did have a few blurry ones that I had to delete. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet set of pictures... I found myself oooing and awwwing...
ReplyDeleteshe's a beauty!
ReplyDeleteOrlin and his teeth draw blood all the time
ReplyDeleteEspecially when I won't let him rhyme..haha
That kitty bites?
ReplyDeleteWow, Orlin's the mean type!
Have never had a cat use their teeth
to say they are king of the beasts.
Claws are bad enough!
Have some now from little scuffs.
Teach that cat some manners
or he'll end up in the slammer!
lol!
White on black... beautiful paws. :)
ReplyDeletehaha ... maybe she tries to tell you that you should pet her and not the computer :-)) she is a beautiful cat!
ReplyDelete& it looks like she didn't mind that camera ...
i especially love the one where she licks her paw, just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh, that is a Sammy reincarnate! How cute is he.;)

I love it when our cat "shares" the keyboard - such good company! I have been reading your blog, pretty much daily, for quite some time Betsy and love it! Thanks for becoming a good habit! Kelley
ReplyDeleteour Toby has this powerful urge to sit on laptops for a belly rub. Your header is gorgeous
ReplyDeleteI like your new header photo Betsy!! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you have a fine little editor. ;) I know she's in heaven. blessings ~ Tanna
ReplyDeleteBirdie ~ all of the kittens look so great...really healthy and clean. People would never guess they were strays.
ReplyDeleteHow are you all feeling over there?
Oh, Gloria ~ can't wait! I haven't been on my computer all day until now! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kelley! I'm so glad you commented so I can see who you are! :)
ReplyDeleteAwwww...so sweet!
ReplyDeleteoh, that is jsut so lovely. :D
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! I have a weakness for black and white cats as my first childhood cat was one name "Pokey" after the Gumbo cartoon horse of the same name. :)
ReplyDeleteawww. Betsy, are you on facebook? There is a cute cat website and today it was a cartoon that said why there will never be any more 'take your cat to work' days. It showed all the people in their office cubicles with cats on the keyboards. hahahaa
ReplyDeleteKim ~ no, I'm not...but I'm sure they decided nobody could get anything done! lol...
