What I Did Wednesday #22

  1. Enjoyed my Valentine's Day bouquet.
  2. Had Whiskers keep me company as I sat at my desk.  You can see her ear here.  Wouldn't call that a 'tiny notch' would you?  :(  I would call that cutting the whole tip off.  Geesh!  And speaking of taking feral cats off to be spayed and neutered, I had a neighbor who reads my blog drop off a check to help pay for my expenses!  Nice.  I appreciate that so much!  Our whole neighborhood benefits if we control the population!  Now if I could just do something about the raccoons and skunk...and the mom and dad cat! ha.
  3. Sent Alex and Harry off to school again without Spencer, who is sick.  I still laugh every single time I put their Elmer Fudd hats on.  So hilarious! :)
  4. Checked on Spencer, who laid low today with a fever.  Lots of liquids, vitamin C and socks on his cold feet.  He refused a blanket, though...stubborn child. lol....
  5. Tried some Lemi-Shine in the dishwasher after reading a post by Rhonda.  Her dishwasher repairman suggested it since all the phosphates have been removed from the detergents by the EPA and people everywhere are complaining that their dishes aren't clean any longer.
  6. Not sure if the dishes were cleaner, but it did polish the copper bottoms of my saucepans!
  7. Cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms.
  8. Put fresh, fluffy rugs down and took up the dirty ones
  9. Refilled all the soap dispensers.
  10. Washed and ate red seedless grapes.
  11. Watered the house plants.
  12. Enjoyed Tiger's company.  He and Whiskers spent the day inside. Funny how feral cats aren't used to all the inside sounds.  They jump at the faucet being turned on, the doorbell, the phone ringing, chip bags crinkling, ...all those things our old cats didn't blink at.  They don't have an aloof attitude but still have that survival defensiveness that they need to live outside.  I didn't dare vacuum.  haha.
What did you do today?
I hope it was a wonderful day!

    1. Whiskers got the worst of it on her ear..the others aren't so bad. And from some angles, it isn't notceable. But still. Someone said yesterday that in Australia they get a little tattoo in their ear. That would be so much better, don't you think?

Face plant in the driveway, and sadly my camera was between my body and the cement. Let's just say it isn't good. I wish i could just delete the day and start it over...oh well.

  9. Another busy Wednesday. Pretty bouquet. No fun being sick..but cute pictures of the boys...and those hats are funny!

Today ~ care for Aunt Trula, workout at the Y, took my dearest car in for new brakes and lube...planing a trip up North next week. Chicken Thighs ready for the oven, and garlic mashed potatoes for tonight. I cleaned bathroom (only have one), and bleached the tub! Got a new scale and says I weigh 2 pounds more that my old pair...Oh well, the new one is probably accurate. Will take boys to school tomorrow as Julie recovers...and the beat goes on!! Sending Love and Hugs...

  11. You had a very productive day! Not so much here...pretty lazy, in fact. However, you have inspired me to tackle my copper bottomed pots. Mine are pretty gross. I can't even remember the last time I polished them.

And I like the idea of a tatoo for the kitty ears, so much better than that so-called "notch".

    3. Our Sams Club does that! Every time I'm there and see the big carts waiting to be picked up, I wonder why I don't do that! It would save me about an hour of shopping time!
I don't blame you for doing that...it's just about impossible and everyone is grouchy and tired when it's done. Plus you spend more when they are with you! ha.

  16. LOL does Nugget take off when he sees those hats go on?
After all they could be quietly hunting wabbit out on the lawn..hahaha
It is quite funny the way they look at all the inside noises too
Cassie coudn't give a crap what comes due
But the cat is a big fat chicken when he goes to that other place
And new noises come at a steady pace
You also really want some more snow?
Pffffft crazy indeed down there in Ohio...haha

    ReplyDelete

    1. Oh and that is soooo not a notch too
They lied big time to you

      Delete
    2. haha...Oh, I laughed out loud at the Nugget line. Guess I'm glad he doesn't watch Bugs Bunny. lol. He doesn't even like carrots. :)

The noise thing is so interesting. They are just used to always being ready to run and hide. I'm sure in time they will let their guard down.

Yes, send me snow! Too bad the wind doesn't blow west. :)

Not a notch...it is so true. Wish it could grow back. But she's still sweet. She spent the day inside again...so did Tiger. And hey, guess what I used an empty Pringles can for? Thanks for the tip. So handy dandy. :)

      Delete
    3. LOL used my pringle can idea hahaha that's great
It has taken hold in one province and one state
Soon it will be done all over the place
And away goes the waste without a trace
      Beats bags every time
Yeah once they figure out each chime
They will be less inclined to run
And looks like they like the inside a ton

      Delete
    4. Yep, I guess you could say we are recycling!
and if I also need a good payback, I've got just the thing.
      lol.
Yeah, some of the others will come in for a quick visit
but these two are content to stay the day and insist it!
Funny, because our two cats who died were a grey tiger and a black one
so we've been doing a deja vu a ton!

      Delete
    5. LOL well if you do try payback
At least it just be one more to go with the other dozen or some strat filled ones at my shack..haha
Tiger prob is waiting for round two
With Mr. Parakeet to come due
And is hoping the deja vu
      Tricks you...haha

      Delete
    6. I didn't mean payback to you
are you thinking you have one coming due?

They haven't bothered with the birds anymore
maybe they decided I'd put them up the door!

    7. haha well if Santa flaps once more

    8. Oh, Santa! How did I forget
yes, some payback must come due for that!

      Delete
    9. haha you forgot you say
Geez maybe you need an extra cup of coffee your way..haha

      Delete
    10. having one right now, thank you very much!
      I think it's my 5th cup
and don't you have a birthday coming up?
Wouldn't that be fun to celebrate
with some kind of payback on your plate?
      lol....

      Delete
    11. your 5th cup holy crap

  23. Brilliant! I am going to start making photo collages to prove to the kids I DO something during the day. Yesterday I removed the old gutters off the barn (not needed since the roof replacement) and NO ONE even noticed! Ugh! Of course, my kids would probably just say, "You mean you got computer time and we didn't!" :)

The jury is still out on the Lemi Shine. It polished the copper, but the rest of the dishes really didn't seem any cleaner.
