- Enjoyed my Valentine's Day bouquet.
- Had Whiskers keep me company as I sat at my desk. You can see her ear here. Wouldn't call that a 'tiny notch' would you? :( I would call that cutting the whole tip off. Geesh! And speaking of taking feral cats off to be spayed and neutered, I had a neighbor who reads my blog drop off a check to help pay for my expenses! Nice. I appreciate that so much! Our whole neighborhood benefits if we control the population! Now if I could just do something about the raccoons and skunk...and the mom and dad cat! ha.
- Sent Alex and Harry off to school again without Spencer, who is sick. I still laugh every single time I put their Elmer Fudd hats on. So hilarious! :)
- Checked on Spencer, who laid low today with a fever. Lots of liquids, vitamin C and socks on his cold feet. He refused a blanket, though...stubborn child. lol....
- Tried some Lemi-Shine in the dishwasher after reading a post by Rhonda. Her dishwasher repairman suggested it since all the phosphates have been removed from the detergents by the EPA and people everywhere are complaining that their dishes aren't clean any longer.
- Not sure if the dishes were cleaner, but it did polish the copper bottoms of my saucepans!
- Cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms.
- Put fresh, fluffy rugs down and took up the dirty ones
- Refilled all the soap dispensers.
- Washed and ate red seedless grapes.
- Watered the house plants.
- Enjoyed Tiger's company. He and Whiskers spent the day inside. Funny how feral cats aren't used to all the inside sounds. They jump at the faucet being turned on, the doorbell, the phone ringing, chip bags crinkling, ...all those things our old cats didn't blink at. They don't have an aloof attitude but still have that survival defensiveness that they need to live outside. I didn't dare vacuum. haha.
What did you do today?
I hope it was a wonderful day!
♥
I love the $, 3 and 10 o the grapes look amazing!
ReplyDeleteBetsy I wanna say 4 I dont waht happens with my typing sorry!
ReplyDeletethanks, Gloria! The grapes were really good...nice and crisp like I love them. I saw cherries from Chile at the store last week but were so expensive! In season for you but not here so they had the price really high! I'll have to wait for summer! ha.
DeleteBetsy here the cherries are expensive, so I can imagine, so is better wait the season, and really we havent cherries right now, is so fast all Betsy!
DeleteI will have to try the lemi-shine. Haven't heard of that, but hate the way my dishes look sometimes. My son has an Elmer Fudd hat and I love them! Your boys are cute wearing them!
ReplyDeletelove the fudd hats. :)
DeleteI think Alex and Harry look so cute!! love this pic!
ReplyDeleteIt's really hard to get them to smile for the camera with the autism, you know. So I was happy to have them both smile for this one!
DeleteYes I know, but love their faces iwth this smile, are so nice!!
DeleteI'm glad they aren't sick, too! At least not yet! ha.
Deleteand talking about whats I made and what not made I have to go to the kicthen to washing dihes:( see you later I hope to return dear, and your flowers are beauty of course,:)
Deletelove the tiger face too Betsy I was seeing, look nice!
Deletetalk to you later...I'm making supper and doing dishes now, too! :)
DeleteThat shot of both Harry and Alex grinning is priceless!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty cute isn't it? :)
DeleteHey, you got cold in yesterday's outfit and had to go to a full body suit, tights and a cape? :)
Well, I wanted to be ready in case you really did dress up in that Catwoman outfit...
Deletelol....well, of course! Why didn't I think of that?
DeleteSilver--hate to admit it, but I kinda miss Cupid. :) Oh, well--we'll see him next year. :)
DeleteLove this avatar too:)
DeleteOH the ears! :-( Oh that's harsh!! That's too harsh! Oh dear! Awwww but they're safe and ok and happy and recuperating with you - that's just great! Thank you thank you thank you again!
ReplyDeleteYay for your gorgeous bouquet and beautiful boys too! Take care
x
Whiskers got the worst of it on her ear..the others aren't so bad. And from some angles, it isn't notceable. But still. Someone said yesterday that in Australia they get a little tattoo in their ear. That would be so much better, don't you think?
DeleteAh, loved your last comment - you didn't dare vacuum. Such a soft, kind heart you have, Betsy. And hooray for the generous neighbour.
ReplyDeletehaha...I know, they're like my babies! ha. Didn't want to have to peel them off the ceiling..while they are recovering and all. lol...
DeleteI have wondered myself about my dishes being less clean...might need to try that. I so enjoy your cat "tales"...glad the neighbors are helping. What did I do? I fell. Face plant in the driveway, and sadly my camera was between my body and the cement. Let's just say it isn't good. I wish i could just delete the day and start it over...oh well.
ReplyDeleteOh, Anita! I'm so sorry. Are you hurt? How is your pretty face? :( And sorry about your camera. Oh dear.
DeleteAnother busy Wednesday. Pretty bouquet. No fun being sick..but cute pictures of the boys...and those hats are funny!
ReplyDeleteToday ~ care for Aunt Trula, workout at the Y, took my dearest car in for new brakes and lube...planing a trip up North next week. Chicken Thighs ready for the oven, and garlic mashed potatoes for tonight. I cleaned bathroom (only have one), and bleached the tub! Got a new scale and says I weigh 2 pounds more that my old pair...Oh well, the new one is probably accurate. Will take boys to school tomorrow as Julie recovers...and the beat goes on!! Sending Love and Hugs...
Wanda, you had a very busy day...love your dinner, too. So nice that you can help Julie..aren't you glad you live close?
DeleteI use Clorox wipes too!! They're so handy aren't they? The grapes look amazing!! Aww, Spencer looks so cute snuggled up on the couch. :)
ReplyDeleteI love Clorox wipes...by far my favorite cleaning item.
DeleteYou had a very productive day! Not so much here...pretty lazy, in fact. However, you have inspired me to tackle my copper bottomed pots. Mine are pretty gross. I can't even remember the last time I polished them.
ReplyDeleteAnd I like the idea of a tatoo for the kitty ears, so much better than that so-called "notch".
Janice ~ I forgot the copper could look like that! ha.
DeleteI'm with you on the tatt!
The grapes look yummy, I need to get groceries my fridge is getting empty. :) The boys are so cute in their hats. That "notch" .....tsk tsk. :(
ReplyDeleteSorry, I repeated myself--my computer doesn't cooperate with the new comment format. Not sure what's wrong. Just pretend I have short-term memory loss. :) hahahaha
DeleteI know what's wrong...it's all those kids! I can relate! ha.
DeleteYeah, that's probably it. Lately I'll think about doing something, and then later I can't remember if I actually DID it, or if I just THOUGHT about it--like starting the dishwasher. I can feel myself slipping slowly over the edge of sanity. :)
DeleteWell, dont give up coffee entirely...it prevents dementia. :)
DeleteOh, good!! I need a reason to keep drinking a little.....coffee that is. ;)
DeleteYes, everyone benefits if we keep our minds. lol...
DeleteI was just reading over our conversation, and it made me laugh--only mom's would talk/write like this. :)
DeleteA little crazy is funny--a lot is not. That's my profound quote for the day. hahaha
Oh, that's profound. You should write a book of quotes. lol.
DeleteI could title it "Random and Useless Quotes" :)
DeleteNo, no...more like "What I Learned From Parenting, Lightbulb Thoughts That Hit After Caffeine Wears Off Mid-Afternoon"
DeleteMuch better! You should work in marketing. :)
DeleteI'd rather illustrate it for you! :)
DeleteI think you two are on to something!
DeleteWhat a great book idea. I can see it now, Best Seller for New Moms & Dads.
Go for it!
I think it would be very entertaining! Rebecca is always coming up with hilarious little one-liners. ha.
DeleteHi Betsy!Love your valentine bouquet. The kitties are cute.Wowo they did take a big chunk out of his ear.In Atlantic City they just had a little slit to the side of the point they didnt cut the point of the ear off wow.Poor kitties.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice rest of your week.
A slit or a v-shaped little cut was what I was expecting. She got the worst of it...I feel so bad. I cried over each one of them. :( Crazy vets.
DeleteI really enjoy your posts about your day, busy busy, poor kitties, they will be glad to be back outside,
ReplyDeleteIt was a busy day, but a stay-at-home day, which I love. I'd never leave the house if I could arrange it! lol....
DeleteOur local bulk food/grocery store has a call in service. You can call in your list, and they will get it all together, and then I have hubby pick it up for me. I love it!! Grocery shopping with my crew is not fun. :)
DeleteOur Sams Club does that! Every time I'm there and see the big carts waiting to be picked up, I wonder why I don't do that! It would save me about an hour of shopping time!
DeleteI don't blame you for doing that...it's just about impossible and everyone is grouchy and tired when it's done. Plus you spend more when they are with you! ha.
i hope spencer feels better...that is a great pic of the boys though...and omg that is not a notch....
ReplyDeleteNope, not a notch. Now you know why I cried! Won't happen with the next group. Hey..doesn't Domino get a snip this week? Hope it all goes well.
DeleteLOL does Nugget take off when he sees those hats go on?
ReplyDeleteAfter all they could be quietly hunting wabbit out on the lawn..hahaha
It is quite funny the way they look at all the inside noises too
Cassie coudn't give a crap what comes due
But the cat is a big fat chicken when he goes to that other place
And new noises come at a steady pace
You also really want some more snow?
Pffffft crazy indeed down there in Ohio...haha
Oh and that is soooo not a notch too
DeleteThey lied big time to you
haha...Oh, I laughed out loud at the Nugget line. Guess I'm glad he doesn't watch Bugs Bunny. lol. He doesn't even like carrots. :)
DeleteThe noise thing is so interesting. They are just used to always being ready to run and hide. I'm sure in time they will let their guard down.
Yes, send me snow! Too bad the wind doesn't blow west. :)
Not a notch...it is so true. Wish it could grow back. But she's still sweet. She spent the day inside again...so did Tiger. And hey, guess what I used an empty Pringles can for? Thanks for the tip. So handy dandy. :)
LOL used my pringle can idea hahaha that's great
DeleteIt has taken hold in one province and one state
Soon it will be done all over the place
And away goes the waste without a trace
Beats bags every time
Yeah once they figure out each chime
They will be less inclined to run
And looks like they like the inside a ton
Yep, I guess you could say we are recycling!
Deleteand if I also need a good payback, I've got just the thing.
lol.
Yeah, some of the others will come in for a quick visit
but these two are content to stay the day and insist it!
Funny, because our two cats who died were a grey tiger and a black one
so we've been doing a deja vu a ton!
LOL well if you do try payback
DeleteAt least it just be one more to go with the other dozen or some strat filled ones at my shack..haha
Tiger prob is waiting for round two
With Mr. Parakeet to come due
And is hoping the deja vu
Tricks you...haha
I didn't mean payback to you
Deleteare you thinking you have one coming due?
They haven't bothered with the birds anymore
maybe they decided I'd put them up the door!
haha well if Santa flaps once more
DeleteYou may get some ideas at your shore..haha
I guess they want to stay all nice and warm
And avoid any ice storm
Oh, Santa! How did I forget
Deleteyes, some payback must come due for that!
haha you forgot you say
DeleteGeez maybe you need an extra cup of coffee your way..haha
having one right now, thank you very much!
DeleteI think it's my 5th cup
and don't you have a birthday coming up?
Wouldn't that be fun to celebrate
with some kind of payback on your plate?
lol....
your 5th cup holy crap
DeleteSure know how to take a coffee lap
Birthday? What's that?..lol
It's soon that of the cat
I enjoyed "spending the day" with you. Perhaps I will do something productive tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteor not! :) Unproductive days can be wonderful. :) I'm just about due for one!
DeleteI had one today. I'm probably due to be productive again tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteha..ok...we'll switch! I'm thinking I'm due to soak my feet in the kitchen sink, drink a cup of tea and maybe stay in my jammies all morning. :) You can give a 'what I did thursday' report tomorrow evening. ha.
DeleteAren't Feet Feats being productive? I need a good foot soak too, and then maybe I can get Hannah (or my mom) to paint my toenails up purty. :)
DeleteWell, you have a point. It is productive...but much more fun that scrubbing the kitchen floor. ha. I'm jealous..there isn't anyone here that I would trust to paint my toenails! Oh my...that would be a funny post. They would NOT look good, I'm telling you right now. ha.
DeleteYour bouquet is gorgeous! And those hats are great!! Love them.
ReplyDeleteYou always have productive Wednesdays...hahaha
P.S. I awww-ed at your duck soap. :)
No scary fruits this week, Jax! :)
DeleteI told The Mister that you grew up eating Black and Whites. He was SO jealous! ha.
Really?! I'm still in awe that this isn't a global thing!! Here I am thinking all "good" kids get them, even in Paris!! hahaha
DeleteNo, just you lucky guys! :) Makes me want to bake them more often...so we aren't feeling deprived out here in the Midwest! ha. But I'm not inclined to share half...either half...with anyone. Your brother was very nice.
DeleteFighting over the better half was the fun of getting the cookie! We still only buy just one...Even if I'm not there, I'll come by on the weekends and there will be my chocolate half waiting for me. :)
DeleteNow that is just too sweet! Awwww. :)
DeleteAlex and Harry look so happy. Love that picture!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Yuji.
DeleteAnd I really enjoyed your story about that special little Valentine boy. :)
Thanks, Betsy!
Deletewell, thank YOU for sharing. So many remarkable people out there and you certainly are one of them. :)
DeleteBetsy! i do understand now - goodness it's half of the ear gone :-( ... how nice that a neighbor came to help with the expenses, wow! that really is nice! & so sorry to hear Spencer is sick :-( wishing he is well soon! & oh, i like the boys in the hats and it seems they are smiling at the camera, they look happy :-)
ReplyDeleteSpencer did go to school today. No fever and he said he wanted to go!
Deletegood to hear! :-)
DeleteDear Betsy, sounds like a fun day.;) And yes, it is funny how cats react to novel sounds and become oblivious to them after a while;))
ReplyDeleteYour images are much more clear and sharp, have changed your camera or photo editing?
xoxo
same camera a picasa! The only thing new is I switched over to the newer blogger manager or editor..can't remember what it was called. It's the one that gives you the newer way to post, etc. That might have something to do with it!
DeleteBrilliant! I am going to start making photo collages to prove to the kids I DO something during the day. Yesterday I removed the old gutters off the barn (not needed since the roof replacement) and NO ONE even noticed! Ugh! Of course, my kids would probably just say, "You mean you got computer time and we didn't!" :)
ReplyDeleteStevie @ ruffledfeathersandspilledmilk.com
Nobody notices what I do around here, either, so don't feel bad. It's when things are not done that people notice! haha.
DeleteThe collages are fun to do!
Your photographs are full of such fine and varied textures - which is appropriate because so is your life.
ReplyDeleteBusy, busy, busy, oh how I wish I was so busy. But I almost died laughing when I quickly glanced at #8. Looks like a rear end. Was just too funny. And those grapes looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
you are hilarious!
DeleteThose grapes look so delish!! And that is a notch?? Sheesh!! What did they use?? A chop saw?? Poor kitty
ReplyDeleteI had a nice quiet V-day!! BFF came over and we did an art project! So cool!! Fun times
Hugs
SueAnn
LOVE the boys in their hats!!! PRECIOUS! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteI had a busy day getting ready for our youth Valentine supper here. Cooking and cleaning and decorating. We had a fun night, lots of laughing!:) They're an easy group to have! You have nice neighbors! and yeah I would have to agree, they cut the tip of her ear OFF!! Poor thing!
ReplyDeletewell that sounds fun! Kind of like our super bowl party. :)
DeleteOh and I love the expressive faces of your sweet boys! :) so cute!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute pics of your boys! And Tiger looks just like one of my cats. Even though mine have always been inside, they still run and hide when the vacuum cleaner comes out - lol! Glad Spencer is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteDawn ~ I wish Spencer was in the photo, too! So hard to get a good one of all three!
DeleteBetsy! I am absolutely indignant at that notch on Whiskers ear! RIDICULOUS! I saw the boys with their hats on day before yesterday??? SO CUTE! AND WARM!
ReplyDeleteI am intrigued by the Lemi-Shine...
I know...it makes me sick! They never asked you if you wanted that done? All of my favorites I took and they did that to them. I it not a 'little notch'. If they had said "we cut about a third of their ear straight off" I would have never done it.
DeleteThe jury is still out on the Lemi Shine. It polished the copper, but the rest of the dishes really didn't seem any cleaner.
love it!
ReplyDeletefluffy rugs and fresh grapes...!
also love the new blog header
xox
What nice and amazing header betsy!
ReplyDeletethanks, Gloria...looks wintery, doesn't it? :)
DeleteLook really beautiful betsy, thats pictures I love, (ho dear here is so hot! and have a terrible headache) how is Spencer, he goes to school?
Deleteyes, Spencer went to school No fever today and he said he wanted to go. :) So quiet here...for a little while longer. ha.
DeleteLove Spencer(lol)
ReplyDeleteHow about I ship him down there to visit for a while? lol. No, I'd be jealous! I would want to come! ha.
DeleteBetsy Im sure my kids really love him, always I think they needed other brother!!(lol)
ReplyDeleteAnd Im sure you will miss him, he is nice I think, lol
DeleteThanks, Gloria. You are sweet. Spencer is nice, but he would want to be on your computer ALL the time. lol...
Deletenot problem the same of my kids, we have two and sometimes I cannot comment in your blog at night because they have both:)))
ReplyDeleteand I have to ask please can somebody give me a computer by a while???
DeleteElmer Fudd hats make for great "mountain men" photos. LOL
ReplyDeleteThat indeed is a BIG notch cut off Whiskers ear! I understand the vet doing this but poor Whiskers He looks very ahppy and content , non the less :)
ReplyDeleteHope your guys all are feeling better. Enjoy your break, Betsy!
