Mrs. Cardinal

Freezing cold and blustery!  That's how I'd describe today!  Mrs. Cardinal thought so, too. Her petticoats kept getting ruffled! :)  It's also my Four Year Anniversary of my blog!
"Time flies...", right?  And thanks to all of you, friends, for making it fun!

  1. Congratulations and Happy Anniversary! And I hope Mrs. Cardinal doesn't call you "doll!"

  2. She calls me "Girl" :)

And, Silver, isn't is your blog anniversary, too?

  3. Yeah, but since I'm on hiatus, there isn't much to crow about, in my case!

    2. I know you're on hiatus, but I thought it was still something fun we celebrated together. I didn't expect you to post today, but maybe comment about it here! :)

    5. I still have a lot of ideas... but lately, my writing's turned to crap. Too much else going on. So I said to hell with it, for now.

    6. Do you guys compose blog posts in your head? I catch myself doing that all the time. :) Good thing people can't read my thoughts. :)

      Delete
    7. I'm always "writing" in my head. It's just not translating well to the page lately. So I won't post while I'm in this slump.

    8. Well Rebeccca in my case I begin with a recipe that Im in love almost all the times, but today Im making a post that I have to choose a recipe for other blog, is Secrect Recipe Club, I have a lot of ideas but Im tired.

    9. Me too, and it's funny because prior to having a blog all those thoughts just sort of felt like they were stuck with no place to go.
(I didn't say that right, but I can't think of a way to say it better.)

    10. Rebecca I think you always write nice things:)

    4. hahaha...how far will you ship? lol...

      Delete
    7. I don't know. I'm not sure how to ship them without any breaking. I just thought maybe it would go along with my blog name....even tho it really has nothing to do with actual chickens. :)

    12. Gloria ~ I think it would be very hard to make rhymes from a second language! But Pat enjoys you anyway. I can tell by the way he teases you!

They are welcome over at my pit

Maybe you could prime the pump
    By reading other blogs--its true
An idea may come to you
    We miss your wit

and cry because you blog no more.

    3. Maybe I should have added
      "Quoth the Raven nevermore"
to the end of it. :)

      Do you remember that one?

      Delete
    4. Do I remember "The Raven?" Rebecca, there are Poe references all over my blogs! I even did a take-off of "The Tell-Tale Heart!"

      Delete
    5. I haven't read them beginning to end--sorry. :) One of my brothers taught me that poem before I could even read. :) There's something a little disturbing about a toddler quoting Poe don't you think?

    7. Hahahaha! I like it! I had not read "The Tell-Tale Heart" before. Wasn't Poe a little disturbed himself? I think I read that somewhere. :)

  22. Happy Fourth anniversary!!!

    That is such a milestone.

Sorry for the cold weather, I actually lit a firelog tonight, it cooled down a bit so that it seemed like a nice night to have a fire. I hope you warm up soon.

    God bless.

    1. wow..that's really something that you had a fire going! But cold to you is what? It was 2 degrees here last evening! Brr!

    2. Can you believe it actually got down to 34 degrees last night which for us is almost panic time for the avocado and citrus plants. It seems like we might get some winter after all. I might even use the real woods logs. Yippee!!

I just realized our birds have it made too, they probably have no idea what snow is.

  23. How are the kitties this morning Betsy?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. They seem to alright! Tiger is the only one that would stay in the house yesterday! I was worried about Whiskers, especially, since she was supposed to stay inside 3 days. But she accidentally slipped out and wouldn't come back. I did see her this morning eating on the back porch and she looked alright. Tiger seems to be the only one not holding a grudge. lol. The others seem very leery of me. ha.

    2. The cold temps are going to make it less likely for them to develop infection. Our vet told us the best time of year to have a outside animal "fixed" is winter.

So, they are a little grudgy huh? :) I guess that's understandable. :)

      Delete
    3. Well, that makes sense. And they are going to stay curled up in a ball to keep warm instead of doing a lot of licking and picking on their stitches. ha.

  25. Well, Happy Anniversary, I hope you carry on for at least another 4! I love the photos, they're beautiful birds.
