Freezing cold and blustery! That's how I'd describe today! Mrs. Cardinal thought so, too. Her petticoats kept getting ruffled! :) It's also my Four Year Anniversary of my blog!
"Time flies...", right? And thanks to all of you, friends, for making it fun!
♥
Congratulations and Happy Anniversary! And I hope Mrs. Cardinal doesn't call you "doll!"
ReplyDeleteShe calls me "Girl" :)
ReplyDeleteAnd, Silver, isn't is your blog anniversary, too?
Yeah, but since I'm on hiatus, there isn't much to crow about, in my case!
ReplyDeleteSilver, even tho you aren't crowing.....how many years has it been for you?
DeleteI know you're on hiatus, but I thought it was still something fun we celebrated together. I didn't expect you to post today, but maybe comment about it here! :)
DeleteI had my David'Z RantZ blog on a site called DiaryLand for a while, but I started David'Z RantZ on Blogger on February 11th, 2008!
DeleteWell, it's nice we can celebrate an anniversary together, doll. (Gee, almost sounds like we're married, haha!)
DeleteI begin in 2007
DeleteAre you serving something yummy for your "anniversary party" Betsy, and Silver? :)
DeleteNot me, but I'd gladly eat anything anyone else wants to serve!
DeleteLet's have those heart shaped brownies that Gloria made. I'm sure they are sugar free in cyber space. :)
DeleteI have some specialty chocolates that hubby bought me from a local candy shop. I could share them. :)
DeleteYum!
DeleteEverything Gloria blogs about looks delicious!
DeleteI agree!! Her posts make my mouth water. :)
DeleteHappy anniversary betsy and finally a Mrs. is nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gloria! Yes, Mrs. Cardinal posed nicely for quite a few pictures today!
DeleteBeautiful!!!! Isn't it amazing how bright the female's beak looks--because she is so drab otherwise?
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!!! How did you happen to start blogging?
I had a couple of friends who blogged, so I thought it would be fun to try. :)
DeleteIt IS pretty fun isn't it? It's basically my only hobby. :)
DeleteYes Rebecca but sometimes Im really tired oif post:(
DeleteYeah, I run out of ideas too.
DeleteI still have a lot of ideas... but lately, my writing's turned to crap. Too much else going on. So I said to hell with it, for now.
DeleteDo you guys compose blog posts in your head? I catch myself doing that all the time. :) Good thing people can't read my thoughts. :)
DeleteI'm always "writing" in my head. It's just not translating well to the page lately. So I won't post while I'm in this slump.
DeleteWell Rebeccca in my case I begin with a recipe that Im in love almost all the times, but today Im making a post that I have to choose a recipe for other blog, is Secrect Recipe Club, I have a lot of ideas but Im tired.
DeleteMe too, and it's funny because prior to having a blog all those thoughts just sort of felt like they were stuck with no place to go.
Delete(I didn't say that right, but I can't think of a way to say it better.)
Rebecca I think you always write nice things:)
DeleteThanks Gloria--you're sweet. :)
Deletesssh! you cant say that to some persons sweet is a BAD word but I understand dear:)
DeleteI think I begin to blogging by the same time that you betsy but mine is in August, last year I dont mention but sometimes I make a giveaway:)
ReplyDeleteI've done a giveaway before, too! Those are fun to do. Maybe next year. :)
DeleteMy first anniversary is coming up in April I think. Maybe I should give away some eggs. :)
DeleteEggs, huh? You sure you can spare them, haha?
Deletehahaha...how far will you ship? lol...
DeleteI meant chicken eggs, and currently I have about 9 dozen in my fridge. Think I can spare a few? :)
DeleteRebecca I can a giveaway with blueberries (lol)
DeleteI don't know. I'm not sure how to ship them without any breaking. I just thought maybe it would go along with my blog name....even tho it really has nothing to do with actual chickens. :)
DeleteGloria, if you are giving away blueberries let me know. I LOVE blueberries. :)
Deletewhat a beauty!! I love how you desribed her petti coats.
ReplyDeleteMy old blog that became attacked was called How my time flys and its so true, time does fly!
I remember that, laurie...that was a great name for a blog. :)
DeleteDoesn't look to be enjoyed the cold what so ever
ReplyDeleteBet she wishes winter came around never
And four years for you
Wow that is quite a few
God only know where I'll be in three more
Hopefully no slump like Grammar Nazi's comes to my shore
Oh and congrats too of course from the cat and Pat
DeleteAnd maybe even Cassie Cat
Although she is a tad stuck up
And the cat might knock over your coffee cup
I hope you don't get a slump either!
DeleteWhere will I cure my rhyming fever? :)
Oh, she's a girl and we'd get along
DeleteI'd probably get her to sing the coffee song! lol.
For Cassie to do that's absurd!
DeleteCuz spilling coffee's fightin' words!
I think I never will be make rithmsmI cannot:(
DeleteCoffee song, doll?
DeleteSure there are a ton, I bet.
DeleteThe Folgers song is probably the most popular.
"The best part of wakin' up...."
right?
Sure. I could sing you a coffee song, if you'd like...
DeletePlease do! :)
DeleteYou'll have to give me a call, silly!
DeleteOh, I thought you meant right here! Sigh.
DeleteOops. Sorry. :(
DeleteI was hoping to hear the coffee song, and I don't have a wire tap on Betsy's phone. :)
DeleteNeither do I. (Only cameras.)
Deletehaha...he said "call" so I was going to yell "Sillll-verrrrr!" Would that work?
DeleteGloria ~ I think it would be very hard to make rhymes from a second language! But Pat enjoys you anyway. I can tell by the way he teases you!
DeleteYeah even if one is rhyme impaired a bit
DeleteThey are welcome over at my pit
As long as they can take a hit
As the cat can pick with his wit
Pat, I must admit it's true,
ReplyDeleteI doubt a slump will come to you!
Well so far so good at my sea
DeleteIn three years we'll see what comes due for me
If your blog gets in a slump
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could prime the pump
By reading other blogs--its true
An idea may come to you
We miss your wit
and sometimes sit
and cry because you blog no more.
(just kidding about the crying part)
Aw, now Silver...you have to admit Rebecca's comment was really sweet! :)
DeleteSure. She can be sweet if she wants to be!
DeleteMaybe I should have added
Delete"Quoth the Raven nevermore"
to the end of it. :)
Do you remember that one?
Do I remember "The Raven?" Rebecca, there are Poe references all over my blogs! I even did a take-off of "The Tell-Tale Heart!"
DeleteI haven't read them beginning to end--sorry. :) One of my brothers taught me that poem before I could even read. :) There's something a little disturbing about a toddler quoting Poe don't you think?
DeleteYou're never too young to be thoroughly warped! Check this out: http://silverfoxlair.blogspot.com/2009/06/tell-tale-timex-theme-thursday-tale.html
DeleteHahahaha! I like it! I had not read "The Tell-Tale Heart" before. Wasn't Poe a little disturbed himself? I think I read that somewhere. :)
DeleteWas Poe disturbed? Heh. Very much.
Deletewow she has such beautiful markings...
ReplyDeleteYes, she doesn, doesn't she!?
DeleteI missed my blogiversary this year. January 17 made six years! So much has happened in that time. The best part of blogging is the friends we make. Thanks for being one of them. :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, your cardinal photos are gorgeous. I'm loving the ruffled petticoats.
DeleteI agree...it is the friends! And you're one of the sweet ones! :)
DeleteCongratulations on the anniversary. Ir is quite an accomplishment and I hope it gives you a good feeling to have so many friends out there that follow and care about you and your family. Your photos of the cardinal are remarkable shots.
ReplyDeleteLarry, you are so right...it really does and I appreciate it very much. Thank you! :)
DeleteNormally I'm petrified of birds...but she's gorgeous! Love her hints of red and a bright beak!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a nice weekend :)
Birds AND strawberries? lol....
DeleteThe weekend wasn't so nice, actually. Hopefully Monday will be better!
she's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIsn't she? I love how she looks right at me. :)
DeleteHello! I'm a new blogger/writer and I just added myself to your followers for support! Maybe you could come follow me too?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
Hi Martin...nice to 'meet' you. Thanks for stopping by. :)
DeleteGreat shot Betsy !
ReplyDeleteBest regards from Paris,
Pierre
Betsy, happy blog anniversary, i'm glad i found you here :-)
ReplyDeletethanks for the coffee you are serving :-), it's so nice in the morning and the cardinal is just ... awwww ... you know how i'm with your birds pictures ;-)
Mrs. Cardinal posed nicely, didn't she!? :)
DeleteHappy happy four year blogoversary!! Yay!!
ReplyDeleteAwwww Mrs Cardinal is adorably ruffled!! Such fabulous pics of her! I love how her perfectly pointy head reflects the pointy bits of the fence! That's really really nice!! Oh she looks completely unimpressed with the weather! Take care
x
She did look cold, didn't she? I hope she and Mr. Cardinal nest in our yard this spring!
DeleteHappy blogoversary Betsy, you are such a prolific blogger.;) And that bid is so cute, I will never ever get images like that.;))
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday to you as well,
xoxo
use your zoom through a window, Zuz...I'm sure you could!
DeleteCongrats on your four years! That is super!
ReplyDeleteLove the ruffled feathers photo!!! Beautiful!
It was blustery and so cold here too. I was frozen all weekend.
Ugh!
Hugs
SUeAnn
Happy Anniversary, Betsy!!! Poor little Mrs. Cardinal looks so cold! Brrrr!
ReplyDeleteHappy Fourth anniversary!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a milestone.
Sorry for the cold weather, I actually lit a firelog tonight, it cooled down a bit so that it seemed like a nice night to have a fire. I hope you warm up soon.
God bless.
wow..that's really something that you had a fire going! But cold to you is what? It was 2 degrees here last evening! Brr!
DeleteCan you believe it actually got down to 34 degrees last night which for us is almost panic time for the avocado and citrus plants. It seems like we might get some winter after all. I might even use the real woods logs. Yippee!!
DeleteI just realized our birds have it made too, they probably have no idea what snow is.
GBA
How are the kitties this morning Betsy?
ReplyDeleteThey seem to alright! Tiger is the only one that would stay in the house yesterday! I was worried about Whiskers, especially, since she was supposed to stay inside 3 days. But she accidentally slipped out and wouldn't come back. I did see her this morning eating on the back porch and she looked alright. Tiger seems to be the only one not holding a grudge. lol. The others seem very leery of me. ha.
DeleteThe cold temps are going to make it less likely for them to develop infection. Our vet told us the best time of year to have a outside animal "fixed" is winter.
DeleteSo, they are a little grudgy huh? :) I guess that's understandable. :)
Well, that makes sense. And they are going to stay curled up in a ball to keep warm instead of doing a lot of licking and picking on their stitches. ha.
DeleteHappy Anniversary! Yes, time flies! Betsy, you need to add wildlife photographer to your list of accomplishments, seriously, these photos are exceptional!
ReplyDeleteWell, Happy Anniversary, I hope you carry on for at least another 4! I love the photos, they're beautiful birds.
ReplyDeleteAlso I'm glad the kitties survived their surgery and you kept your sanity throughout it!
The little bird with the big red mohican hairdo! She does look a bit ruffled. Congratulations - four years takes some dedication.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful close ups of Ms. Cardinal! She does look cold..brrrrr.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th year blogging anniversary, Betsy! It has been wonderful getting to know you and your family, and I look forward to many more years of reading your blog.
