Yes, we bought it on our honeymoon. :) They probably would think it was great!! Maybe your boys will notice it after a while. :) Did you have a good day?
I've had a headache all day. ugh. I never have a little headache..just huge ones that last two days. :( Other than that, it's been a nice day! lol.
Yes, I'm hoping this weekend they'll notice it more. They have an agenda and routine in mind when they get off the bus, so they weren't interested in diverting from that. :)
If it was bright colored they would probably peck at it. :) The pacifier addict in this house would NOT be pleased about sharing them with the chickens. LOL
Lucky Lamp Love Ducky Damp Dove Okay didn't really work But might give a smirk Never had one of them though Sure the cat would knock it over with ease as it began to flow Another nice addition to your hall In the dark will even brighten a wall
Pat ~ yeah, I gave a smirk to you and a laugh, too! Wouldn't be a good thing for the cats to give the lava lamp a ring Letting the goo run out on the floor and it wouldn't work any more. ha.
It's like really groovy man and the colors are groovin to the music. Yeah man my mind is juz gettin blown away by those freaking floatin globs. Man it is such a sweet thing to sit here chillin out watching the lava lamp. Whoa I can't get up, does someone got any snacky things. I am like really getting the munchies ya know and wow did you see how it moved. Whoa it is like blowin my mind. Where are the Twinkies man?
Oh, I'm laughing so hard at all the sixties jargon floating around your comments Betsy. Maybe you should put some flower power in your sidebar to make all the "ahem" more mature people feel at home. :) Oh, but then you would have to put pacifiers there for my age group.....never mind just be yourself---we like you that way. :)
You young'uns need lessons, man. It's the Monkees, haha! And they weren't considered a "real" group by the hipsters, man. We grooved on Jimi, Janis, Cream, the Doors, Traffic, the Jefferson Airplane... Power to the people! Right on!
Does anybody know if you can leave a lava lamp on all the time? We haven't turned it off yet..it seems fine but didn't know if that's safe or not. It isn't around anything flamable.
I don't think it will harm anything, but I probably wouldn't do it, especially at night when everyone's in bed. Plus. it's always interesting to see the weird shapes you get while the "lava" is warming up after you turn it back on, too.
yeah, that's what I was thinking. I actually thought The Mister would turn it off when he came to bed, but it was still on in the morning. Wouldn't want the house to burn down.
You're lucky Betsy, I do this maybe once or twice a year--need to do it more often.......Gloria, don't worry about your house....just take a nap, Rebecca, and Betsy said you should, and I'm pretty sure Silver agrees. :)
Gloria ~ I'm sure...when something like that happens, our homes seem to fall apart, don't they? Everything gets behind...laundry, cleaning, ..I always say it looks like a bomb went off in the house. lol.
@Rebecca: You mean, just "Every adult on the planet should drink more coffee?" Or the whole thing, "Every adult on the planet should drink more coffee." (Then, in smaller print.) "Which reminds me, I need a refill." ???
Well, I meant just the first line, but I like the smaller print suggestion better--if I wore a t-shirt like that everyone who knows me would think it fit--my personality is rather scatterbrained. Don't you DARE say I know. :)
Yes Betsy You saw my house maybe with a camera?? ha,ha Wel I laundry, make some beds, wash plates (a lot) and make me a sandwich that Im eating here, but I have a lot to do , sigh! Thanks silver I would like maybe I will try!
And I forget to say you Betsy my son is in the Clinic he sprained his leg playing soccer and going to have to wear a special boot for 10 days, of course he is not happy!
I have always wanted to have one - this is a beaut! I read that it's best they not be on for more than eight hours, but the odd leaving on overnight is fine, I'm sure. Must find out where to buy one! Hope you are well, Betsy.
This one I bought is pretty small. It's not one of those huge heavy ones. I think they've improved them this time around. But yes, a small one would be great!
Yea, I guess we were. Sad part is...I still am!! Somehow I think that a lava lamp would still mesmerize me. Maybe that's my inner hippie talking...haha
I'm all for you buying another one. They're awesome!
Hi Betsy ~ Hope your headache is gone by now. I'm a little late in commenting..
Tomorrow is a 6 year anniversary for our Pastor being at the church, so I'm making another basket for him. Our friend Tom really enjoyed his Birthday Basket, and I'm sure having fun making them.
We had a Lava lamp when I was in college in the dorm, and we decided the first one to get married would get the ironing board and pole lamp, so my friend ended up with the Lava lamp, cause I was the first to marry!!!! I still have the ironing board...can you believe that!!!
They're so relaxing aren't they? I need to dig ours out and set it up again. :)
ReplyDeleteDoing a little happy dance cause I was first two days in a row........aren't you glad you can't see me? :) I mean aren't I glad you can't see me? lol
ReplyDeleteyay for first! :)
ReplyDeleteSo you have a lava lamp packed away? Your kids would probably love it!
I thought the boys would get home from school and really love this. They didn't give it a second look. Sigh. lol....
Yes, we bought it on our honeymoon. :) They probably would think it was great!! Maybe your boys will notice it after a while. :) Did you have a good day?
ReplyDeleteI've had a headache all day. ugh. I never have a little headache..just huge ones that last two days. :( Other than that, it's been a nice day! lol.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm hoping this weekend they'll notice it more. They have an agenda and routine in mind when they get off the bus, so they weren't interested in diverting from that. :)
It's snowing! :)
Ooh sorry about the headache.
ReplyDeleteWanna hear about my day?
One of my darling children erased all the pictures on my camera...including some that were not saved elsewhere. rrrrrrr I was SO UPSET!!!
It's snowing here too. Which is something to smile about. :)
ReplyDeleteUgh...sorry about the photos. :(
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen a lava lamp in years - what fun. I'm sure the boys will love it if they do stop to look.
ReplyDeletenice..i had a lava lamp in college...loved it....
ReplyDeleteHI dears, nice to see you, Im still in the hospital!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a green one - always red or pink - so this is just lovely and completely mesmerising!! Take care
ReplyDeletex
Wow, I'm having sixties flashbacks, man...
ReplyDeleteBetsy! THAT is so funny...we had a lava lamp...No 1 son made sure we did NOT very quickly. :) -SIGH-
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ how is your dad?
ReplyDeleteKitty ~ it's blue with yellow goo
Silver ~ man? lol...
Jill ~ what? what's with the lamp? lol... that cracks me up. I'll let you know what happens over here. ha.
ReplyDeleteYeah, man, it's like, sixties talk, you dig it?
ReplyDeletetalk you later:)
ReplyDeleteSilver....like totally go with the flow--is that a sixties phrase?
ReplyDeleteBetsy he is on surgery right now, is his heart.
ReplyDeleteBetsy, That lamp would look SO good in a room with a beaded curtain door. :) (sorry)
ReplyDeleteRebecca, "go with the flow" is actually a seventies phrase, but you were right about the beaded curtains!
ReplyDeleteSilver, Oops, I'm mixing my historical slang. :)
ReplyDeleteYou're forgiven, Rebecca. You weren't around for any of it. You're just a baby, remember?
ReplyDeleteAs a kid in the sixties I thought they were so magical. We were easily entertained and science wasn't advance that much back then.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I forgot.......now where did I put my pacifier? :)
ReplyDeleteOne of those damned chickens probably has it.
ReplyDeleteIf they do I would have to take a picture, and blog about it. :)
ReplyDeleteYou would, too.
ReplyDeleteA croaking chicken with a pacifier? lol....
ReplyDeleteIf it was bright colored they would probably peck at it. :) The pacifier addict in this house would NOT be pleased about sharing them with the chickens. LOL
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ hope his surgery goes well. I'm praying for him! :)
ReplyDeleteLucky Lamp Love

LOVE the new home you found for the lava lamp! Do not be alarmed if I become distracted by it and spend hours looking at its beauty!Ha :-)
ReplyDeleteso nice to add some colors and light Betsy, especially in this time of the year ... i hope your headache is gone ... have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt's like really groovy man and the colors are groovin to the music. Yeah man my mind is juz gettin blown away by those freaking floatin globs. Man it is such a sweet thing to sit here chillin out watching the lava lamp. Whoa I can't get up, does someone got any snacky things. ReplyDeletePeace baby peace.
God bless.
@Mrsupole: So, man, it's like, not just me? Far out, man, really groovy! Peace,
ReplyDeleteLauren ~ think I need one for the front room? :)
ReplyDeleteSilver and Mrs. U ~ you guys are the oldies but goodies!:)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Betsy, he is better.
ReplyDeleteHi, Gloria! Oh, I'm so glad! You're probably tired. Did you get to go home and sleep?
ReplyDeleteYou've made a beautiful display of your collection. I like each piece.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm laughing so hard at all the sixties jargon floating around your comments Betsy. Maybe you should put some flower power in your sidebar to make all the "ahem" more mature people feel at home. :) Oh, but then you would have to put pacifiers there for my age group.....never mind just be yourself---we like you that way. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a groovy idea, Rebecca. Maybe a peace sign, too. How about a playlist featuring The Monkeys? :) (you may have to google them. ha.)
ReplyDeleteLike "hey hey we're the monkeys" that song?
ReplyDeleteYes Betsy today Im in home the kids were to see him, but he doesnt many visits cause he is so tired too!
ReplyDeleteYou young'uns need lessons, man. It's the Monkees, haha! And they weren't considered a "real" group by the hipsters, man. We grooved on Jimi, Janis, Cream, the Doors, Traffic, the Jefferson Airplane... Power to the people! Right on!
ReplyDeletehaha...sorry! They were before my time, too. But I like their music! MonkEES.
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ glad he's ok...now he needs rest. :)
Is it my fault they didn't know how to spell monkey? :P
ReplyDeleteEven I have to admit that the sixties had some fun music. :0
ReplyDeletehaha...I hope that's not your fault! That's a lot of guilt to place on a baby. lol...
ReplyDeleteYou're both forgiven, haha! Rebecca wasn't even born yet, and Betsy was just a little kitten.
ReplyDeleteRebecca, I'll bet you don't like that "other" group, the one that didn't know how to spell "beetles," huh?
Oops I meant to smile after my last comment, not leave my mouth hanging open. :)
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody know if you can leave a lava lamp on all the time? We haven't turned it off yet..it seems fine but didn't know if that's safe or not. It isn't around anything flamable.
ReplyDeleteYou could do a shocked face like this..
ReplyDelete=O
I don't think it will harm anything, but I probably wouldn't do it, especially at night when everyone's in bed. Plus. it's always interesting to see the weird shapes you get while the "lava" is warming up after you turn it back on, too.
ReplyDeleteRebecca, I don't think anyone was surprised to see you with your mouth open. :)
ReplyDeleteyeah, that's what I was thinking. I actually thought The Mister would turn it off when he came to bed, but it was still on in the morning. Wouldn't want the house to burn down.
ReplyDeleteIm at home Betsy cause I have to do many things, but Im talking with my Mom and Esperanza and he is OK but so tired. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI like some beetles songs.
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the lava lamp. I do know if you move them when they are still warm that the water gets cloudy, and messed up. :)
Well, my mouth is usually in motion when it's open, not hanging slack jawed like I overdosed on Vicadin. :)
ReplyDeleteI answer because Im not sure my comment was here, so many about sixties:)
ReplyDeleteI love beatles too but I was little girl, ha,ha
ReplyDeleteSo glad your dad is better Gloria!!!
ReplyDeleteBeatles, Rebecca. *sigh Kids nowadays!
ReplyDelete@Gloria: In between all our goofy comments, Gloria, we're reading your updates about your Dad. We're all praying for him, I'm sure.
oops, maybe I should drink more coffee. :)
ReplyDeleteEvery adult on the planet should drink more coffee.
ReplyDeleteWhich reminds me, I need a refill.
Ok Gloria ~ thanks for letting me know how he is. After you get stuff done, you should take a nap, dear. :)
ReplyDeleteGuess, what Betsy, I get to go have coffee with a couple other ladies this afternoon. Makes me SO HAPPY!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWEll........I dont know (Im kidding I know)
ReplyDeleteSilver, you should have that quote made into a t-shirt. I would buy one. :)
ReplyDeleteuhuh Betsy if you see my home now two days I dont make anything, but a nice is tempting, ha
ReplyDeleteNice, Rebecca. That will be fun. I'm doing that after church in the morning with 2 girlfriends...it's become a weekly tradition!
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky Betsy, I do this maybe once or twice a year--need to do it more often.......Gloria, don't worry about your house....just take a nap, Rebecca, and Betsy said you should, and I'm pretty sure Silver agrees. :)
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ I'm sure...when something like that happens, our homes seem to fall apart, don't they? Everything gets behind...laundry, cleaning, ..I always say it looks like a bomb went off in the house. lol.
ReplyDelete@Rebecca: You mean, just "Every adult on the planet should drink more coffee?" Or the whole thing, "Every adult on the planet should drink more coffee." (Then, in smaller print.) "Which reminds me, I need a refill." ???
ReplyDeleteyeah, that is one thing about housework...it will wait for you. ha.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Gloria. Take a nap. You deserve it.
ReplyDeleteWell, I meant just the first line, but I like the smaller print suggestion better--if I wore a t-shirt like that everyone who knows me would think it fit--my personality is rather scatterbrained. Don't you DARE say I know. :)
ReplyDeleteYes Betsy You saw my house maybe with a camera?? ha,ha
ReplyDeleteWel I laundry, make some beds, wash plates (a lot) and make me a sandwich that Im eating here, but I have a lot to do , sigh!
Thanks silver I would like maybe I will try!
I know!
ReplyDelete(ducks) lol...
I'd wear that t-shirt, too~
Gloria ~ sounds like you're getting a handle on it. How long does your dad have to stay in the hospital?
ReplyDeleteAnd I forget to say you Betsy my son is in the Clinic he sprained his leg playing soccer and going to have to wear a special boot for 10 days, of course he is not happy!
ReplyDeleteMaybe until tomorrow He is still in a special room at the hospital
ReplyDeleteBetsy!!!! I meant Silver, I didn't think you had it in you.
ReplyDeleteIs it THAT obvious?
My scatterbrainedness? :)
Oh my Gloria, you sure are having a rough time right now!!!
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ oh no! Too bad about your son. My Taylor was always spraining his ankles in sports.
ReplyDeleteSilver, you should put some flower power on your t-shirt. :)
ReplyDeleteRebecca ~ lol...no, just kidding. I've never thought of you as scatterbrained. :)
ReplyDeleteNo thanks, flower power is forty years out of date. My t-shirt would speak to the ages.
ReplyDelete(And has everybody noticed that I'm being a total gentleman and totally staying out of the "Is Rebecca scatterbrained?" conversation?)
ReplyDeleteyeah I thkin gerardo is his second time (lol) but in summmer is difficult but you know the boys!
ReplyDeleteSo, tell us, would there be a picture on the t-shirt, or just your immortal words about coffee. ;)
ReplyDeleteSomeone pat Silver on the back. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, there sure wouldn't be a photo of me, if that's what you're asking!
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ you can set gerardo and your dad up together when they both get home as the 2 patients. :)
ReplyDeleteA large steaming cup of joe perhaps? :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, someone pat me on the back. Actually, I could use a good backrub...
ReplyDeleteYou're only getting a pat, silly.
ReplyDeletelol....
Yeah, a cup of java would do.
ReplyDeleteYou give him an inch.........
ReplyDeleteSilver ~ you need a t-shirt that says "Grouchy without sweetener"
ReplyDeletehahaha
Only a pat? Thought I deserved a little more. I've tried to be so nice lately, haha!
ReplyDeletegive him an inch?
ReplyDeleteI've said that EXACT saying to him before! lol....
hahahahahahahaha.......oh, maybe not quite THAT funny. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, doll, you certainly have!
ReplyDeleteBetsy, Is he groveling?
ReplyDeleteOh Betsy would be terrible. I think gerardo will be walking anyway! Also with a boot!
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ well, if he has to elevate it and keep ice on it, you could make him sit in with grandpa. lol. They could keep each other company.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are so much fun!!! I gotta go get ready for my coffee date. :)
ReplyDeleteok...have fun, Rebecca!
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to have one - this is a beaut! I read that it's best they not be on for more than eight hours, but the odd leaving on overnight is fine, I'm sure. Must find out where to buy one! Hope you are well, Betsy.
ReplyDeletexxx Suzanne
Suza! How are you, dear?
ReplyDeleteYes, I think we'll turn it off at night from now on. But I'm really enjoying the lamp...too fun!
When we were younger, my "cool" aunt had a lava lamp. If we were good, she would turn it on for us. Obviously we were easily entertained. hahaha
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend!!
Rebecca has a "coffee date!" Cool.
ReplyDeleteJax ~ weren't we all? Life was so much simpler then! ha. I'm tempted to buy another one for my desk, so I can enjoy it while I'm sitting here!
ReplyDeleteThey make mini lava lamps! That would be perfect for your desk, I'll bet!
ReplyDeleteThis one I bought is pretty small. It's not one of those huge heavy ones. I think they've improved them this time around. But yes, a small one would be great!
ReplyDeleteYea, I guess we were. Sad part is...I still am!! Somehow I think that a lava lamp would still mesmerize me. Maybe that's my inner hippie talking...haha
ReplyDeleteI'm all for you buying another one. They're awesome!
Me, too Jax. It entertained me all day yesterday! ha.
ReplyDeleteI'll let you all know if I find a little one for my desk. :)
These are so much fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy ~ Hope your headache is gone by now. I'm a little late in commenting..

Last year I met the creators of the Lava lamp at a birthday party for a friend's 50th. They gave us little lava lamps as party favors...i love them!
ReplyDeleteAnita ~ oh, how very fun! What neat party favors, too!
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt! Then I'll have something exciting to watch while Tay watches football!
ReplyDelete
