Looks like even though I'm not quite ready to decorate for Christmas, Mother Nature is! I snapped this picture of one of our pine trees showing through the golden crab apple tree.
Doesn't it look like Christmas lights on a tree?
*******
I considered this last day of Thanksgiving Vacation as a little calm before the storm of my busy gift basket week. I also just noticed I have a couple of appointments this week and an auction on Wednesday! Good grief! So I took some time for me today. Girl time. I slept in, gave myself a facial, conditioned my hair, whitened my teeth, and yes, even a pedicure. The fun kind, by sitting on the kitchen counter and soaking my feet in a sink of hot sudsy water. Thankfully, Mr. Neighbor Man didn't catch me. haha. And to top it all off, I ate the last piece of pie for breakfast.
♥
Truly does look like christmas lights
ReplyDeleteMother Nature is even beating you with her christmas sights
What are you to do?
Oh riiight put your feet in the sink so the neighbor can view..hahaha
Always nice for me time
And is not a crime
Especailly with a busy week
Not to mention a day with a port a pottie making things look bleak..haha
First first
ReplyDeleteWith my comment burst
Oooh..first AND second
ReplyDeleteyour head will swell to the heavens.
Yes, on the Mother Nature..or would that be Fernature? ;)
amazing photo...does look just like lights. I thought Whoa, Betsy is already on it this year!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious....what did the other boys eat for Thanksgiving? and do you have to make special things for them on a daily basis to eat at meal times?
Kim ~ no Christmas decorations here yet...not til next week! :)
ReplyDeleteAlex ate our meal with us. He doesn't seem to have any food obsessions like his brothers. And yes, I make their food seperate from ours. I'm like a short order cook. ha. And to make it worse...each boy is different from the other except that they all love fruit and veggies.
Fruit and veggies are the best anyway. I eat meat sort of like a sidedish..a small side dish! hahaha.
ReplyDeleteI'm debating on whether I should put my tiny tree up today or wait. I put the Christmas tree up in the dental office where I work on Friday..and it got me in the spirit..a little bit in the spirit...it was so warm yesterday I emptied the pond and covered it up for the winter..too bad Rocky Raccoon...no taking the pump apart till next spring!
Kim ~ poor raccoon. ha.
ReplyDeleteI'm not in the spirit yet. It doesn't hit until later. It's still Thanksgiving to me.
Yes, I am glad they eat fruits and veggies. Lots of autistic kids don't. Harry won't eat meat, though...hard to get protein in him.
haha Fernature it could be
ReplyDeleteBut many might not get she created the tree
Pat ~ No, private joke I suppose
ReplyDeletebut if they don't read your books, that's how it goes!
nice...we all need me time...i have the boys with me right now giving T some me time...it is a cool pic it does look like christmas lights...
ReplyDeleteAw, Brian ~ you're so good to T. Love that. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful picture - really does look like Christmas!
ReplyDeleteYour little spa time sounds wonderful!
A beautiful shot indeed! :)
ReplyDeleteFeet in the sink and a slice of pie, that's a morning done right.
ReplyDeleteMike ~ thanks...and I thoroughly enjoyed myself, too! lol....
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, I love pumpkin pie for breakfast!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day. You deserve the treat.
I came over because I did think you put up your tree hah!Hmm wondering why you didnt use the tub for the feet lol.I do..never tried the sink and never will ha, and I dont have a neighbor man who would look lol.
ReplyDeleteNext week is my time to decorate too.Much to busy the first few days here. But Im definately in the mood.
Blessings!
Mr. Neighbor Man didn't catch you? What are you worried about? Does he have a foot fetish or were you naked?
ReplyDeleteLove,
Lola
Ah, the feet feat! Yes, yes, of course. Now to paint my toenails like ladybugs... (Perhaps first I should soak them in the sink.)
ReplyDeleteLola ~ naked? No, just my toes. Hopefully I have more class than that! Click on the link for the back story.
ReplyDeleteI think perhaps you meant to say "golden CRAB apple tree"? Whatever you call it, it looks beautiful. Glad you were able to take care of yourself before your hectic week.
ReplyDeleteGo ahead, Martha~ it felt wonderful! :) Just when I think my toes won't see the light of day until spring, I remember that The Mister tends to spring black tie events on me suddenly. I have a feeling there will be a few during the holidays. I decided to get my toes ready now for those fancy heels. lol....
ReplyDeleteKathy ~ lol...yes, thank you. Fixed that. At first I typed abble for apple and repaired that but didn't notice I totally flipped the B's and P's in both words! lol... Silver Fox is gone today, or he would have already caught it. ha.
ReplyDeleteHooorah for girl time!!! And what a fabulous shot from your window. Definitely the calm before the Christmas storm! Take care
ReplyDeletex

ReplyDeleteLook amazing like Christmas Betsy!
ReplyDeleteWhat nice you make lovely things for you betsy, I need sleep a little too, oh! betsy I need a little spa like yours:)
I love the picture.
Betsy thanks by remember yes today is Advent Sunday, thanks:)
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ well, thank you for the reminder, too! I put it on my sidebar! :)
ReplyDeleteWho needs a Christmas tree when you have that? I would just save the bother and gaze outside. How do you market your gift baskets? It sounds like a really fun business, making people happy and saving them time.
ReplyDeletejenny ~ actually my business is just through word-of-mouth!
ReplyDeleteSounds like my kind of day. Beautiful pic
ReplyDeleteThe photo is so lovely...just like Christmas lights...
ReplyDeleteI take my hat off to anyone who can climb up on the kitchen counter and do a pedicure in the sink. I'm not sure I was ever that young, Betsy.
However, a dishtub on the floor works for me...and I'm sure no neighbor men are interested in my old feet!!! HaHa
You must post picture some day!!!
What a busy time for you with all your Christmas Basket deadlines...
I will start my Christmas baking tomorrow.
You will be in my thoughts this week.
You have the eye and just the right touch with your finger. That is a gorgeous picture.
ReplyDeleteit's sounds just wonderful! I am looking forward to some me time this week! i need it after 4 days of FAMILY time!
ReplyDeletelove that picture - i thoought it was christmas lights! very cool!
Heather ~ I know what you mean...I'll be happy to send all the men out the door in the morning! ha.
ReplyDeletewhy bother decorating when mother nature does such a fine job!!
ReplyDeletei am in a state of shock (and denial) that thanksgiving is now behind us and december is right around the corner....which of course means 2012 is there too!
ah, me - girly time sounds nice, i am inspired and i think this calls for a bubble bath!!
thanks girlfriend!
kim ~ a bubble bath...yep..that's on my list to finish out the day. ha.
ReplyDeleteIt looks exactly like Christmas lights!
ReplyDeleteGood for you... pamper yourself in the quiet time between the flurry of Thanksgiving cooking and basket making.
I envy your little cottage business... sounds like a profitable, creative outlet!
It does look like Christmas lights! Neat picture.
ReplyDeleteI need one of those "me" days. Never thought of sitting on the counter with my feet in the sink but WILL try that next time because it sounds like amazing fun. :)
GOOD FOR YOU! You more than deserve some ME time....I laughed out loud to think of Mr. Neighbor Man seeing you sitting on the counter...again! =) You're so funny - take it easy and don't overdo yourself this week Girl.
ReplyDeleteLanie ~ it is great fun...at least I think so..not to mention easier.
ReplyDeleteMarsha ~ I think they were gone still from the holiday, but I closed the blind just in case! ha.
ReplyDeleteYour photo does look like a Christmas tree with lights!
ReplyDeleteWe all need days to pamper ourselves and re energize and refresh! My holidays prep will be minimal this year as I'll be spending time in Colorado. I look forward to enjoying my children's decorations. :)
Now that is clever and it worked like a charm : first thing I thought on seeing the picture was "Betsy's decorating the tree early this year"
ReplyDeletehi Betsy .. beautiful photo - exactly as you describe "Natural Christmas lights" .... good for you for your YOUR TIME ..
ReplyDeleteHave a very successful week .. cheers Hilary
I so agree with you on that picture.;)
ReplyDeleteAnd it is important with *me* time, I have realized that after gaining a new family.;)
Thnak you for your lovely Thanksgiving comment, the sentiment goes both ways.;)
xoxo
I am definitely going to have an American Thanksgiving before I die. But Christmas? Bittersweet this year, I'm even thinking about not bothering with a Christmas tree now that the nest is empty.
ReplyDeleteAhhh me time! Nothing quite like it. Don't sit on the counters for my pedicures either. If I did I probably would be joined by a bunch of little monkeys. Maybe I could wait till they're in bed. :) I haven't started decorating for Christmas yet either. :)
ReplyDeleteYou have a great eye, Betsy, to see and then capture Nature's Christmas decorations!! Glad you had a nice girl day. ;) Hope your week goes smoothly and efficiently with all you have to do! blessings ~ Tanna
ReplyDeletethat sure looks like lights on the tree....I thought you had really been busy this weekend putting the tree up!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great start to the week.
MMMMM, the BEST kind of breakfast Betsy!! BUSY! BUSY! Hope the week goes smoothly!
ReplyDeleteThat photo is delightfully misleading! And I'm so glad you gave yourself a Selfish Day. (Now all you need is a Selfish Night!)
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful. It does look like lights :0)
ReplyDeleteOh and this is so interesting--I'm eating the last piece of pie right now LOL!
Have a wonderful day.
What a good girl you are.! The picture is fabulous!
