X marks the spot, whether it's a buried treasure, a kiss, or where two paths crossed in the sky. A lovely November sunset as seen from my front porch.

One more day of relaxing and then I head into my busiest week of the year. The gift basket business does get busy throughout the holidays! I'm happy to be able to not only create beautiful gifts but do it from my home, sometimes in my jammies and slippers. :) And nothing beats being the boss, you know? ha. I created this business 21 years ago and it has been so much fun!
*******
Once this week is done I'll turn my efforts to putting up the tree, decorating the house and doing some Christmas shopping. I feel a little behind after dear friend, Pat, announced he's all done with his shopping and even has a few feet of snow to make it feel all holiday-ish. But that's ok. We'll just have to be looking Thanksgiving-ish around here until then. hahaha. :)
♥
I was just thinking that we only have a few days before the next set of cooking/shopping begins. I did learn that I don't have enough measuring spoons and cups....I was washing them every time I turned around. So this morning when I bought groceries I picked up 2 sets of each/ha!
ReplyDeleteWe've had some beautiful sunsets the last few days. I love them so much.
Hi Bets!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. Enjoy your week of basket creating. Sounds like fun to me.
I shop the last week before Christmas. I'm not much of a shopper I guess and less of a planner.

ReplyDeleteNice sunset. Looks familiar. I'm sure it's cuz it's the same sun as you have in Ohio...
ReplyDeletenanny ~ I picked up some glass one and two cup measures from an auction recently and was so glad to have them when I was making Thanksgiving dinner! Now I need to buy a pie plate! ha.
ReplyDeleteCaliGirl ~ I usually start out with the shopping well and then get lulled into false security and rush at the end. ha.
ReplyDeleteI think the gift basket business sounds like it must be lots of fun,,deciding what goes in with what, that a beautiful photo from your porch,
ReplyDeleteI love sunset betsy. this pic is beautiful:)

The X marking the spot
Seems like it was drawn by a lopsided robot
A tad off center says my ocd
But I guess not even a robot can do things perfectly..haha
Thanks, Gloria! hope you've had a nice day...I need to come visit your blog and see what you've been baking. :)

ReplyDeleteBrian ~ saving the best for last, I see! :) The Mister and I have our anniversary squeezed in there before Christmas, too. Lots of gift buying left to do!
ReplyDeleteGreat sunset photo, Betsy and yes it is a busy time - seems like yesterday it was Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHoorah for being your own boss and creating such wonderful things too!! It's frightening to think people have already done all things that need to be done for Christmas bar the actual Day - good grief! Slow down - it's still November! :-) Take care
ReplyDeletex
It hardly seems possible that November is coming to an end. We have had some absolutely gorgeous days! I keep thinking snow is just around the corner...
ReplyDeleteMartha ~ we have had a wonderful fall weather-wise. I hate to see it end. The blue sky was amazing today...and warm enough to be outsdie. Have to admit I'm not at all in the holiday mood yet!
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful photo Betsy. I, too, am enjoying beautiful weather. The dogs and I didn't create any gift baskets today, but we did go for a long walk.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Lola
Thanks, Lola. No gift baskets for me, either. That's not until next week. This time next week the house will be full of them. ha.
ReplyDeleteThat's such a good idea I often think about doing a hamper business.
ReplyDeleteThese are the best presents when you go visit someone.
Pays to buy them.
Your business sounds wonderful...lots of perks!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane

ReplyDeleteGloria ~ I hope it all works out. Raising kids is hard..especially teenagers. Just keep loving them and praying for them. I can tell you're a great mom. :)
ReplyDeleteBetsy thanks, but you are an amazing Mom, I love how you are with your men,
ReplyDeleteI pray a lot specially for daugther, you know sometimes is hard, thanks Betsy:)
Hi Betsy! Great pic! Hope you & yours enjoyed the turkey feast :P Hugs form Subby :)
ReplyDeleteHi Todd! Great to see you, too! xo
ReplyDeleteSending Kisses to November, also.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great November for me.
Now, I welcome December with warm hugs.
Hard to believe that the year is almost over. It seems like it was just beginning a few months ago. Every year flies by faster and faster. You have the best looking sky out there. More clouds would be nice here, especially during the summer.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your baskets and it does sound like fun but then I know it must turn into work sometime.
I hate shopping and the commercialization of this holiday. I hope we can all help feed those in need and spend a little less on gifts. Too many need our help and charity begins at home not a government office. At least we know they are getting it all and it is not lining someone's pocket. I try to always give on my own so as to know it is all getting there. So food gift bags is a good gift to give. Just a thought for those of us who have more.
Love the X because it is telling us that someone special lives here.
God bless.
Christine ~ I'm so glad you had a wonderful November! And December should be magical in it's own way, too! :)
ReplyDeleteMrs U ~ I so agree...really good thoughts. Charity does begin with us and not a government office. Love that. And we that have so much should give more away.
ReplyDeleteLove your thoughts on the X. ha. I'll remember that next time...a little love from heaven to my home. :)
A great shot! We have already had phone calls with family dinners to attend in the upcoming week. Whew! The holiday race is on!
ReplyDeleteFarmchick ~ I hate the holiday race! I'm determined to make it a slow, relaxed holiday. Not quite sure how, yet, but I'm going to try! ha.
ReplyDeleteBetsy we still dont garnish for Christmas but I love it! But I thinks this weekend begin Advent time:) maybe later the other day with Esperanza we bought some Christmas things and they are the first:) I have planning cook and bake but here I never know:)
ReplyDeletehave a nice day betsy:)
Gloria ~ today is the first Sunday in Advent! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're going to be one busy bee! How lovely to be able to see glorious sunsets from your own front porch.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful image.;)
ReplyDeleteYes, the time ahead is a busy time but a lovely one as well.;) And to ease your mind, I have only started on all my Christmas shopping and my gifts, almost all, have to be send.;)
I think everyone starts earlier each year - what happened to gift shopping the last week before Christmas, that's how it used to be when I was a kid.;)
Enjoy your busy week ahead,
xoxo
