What I Did Wednesday #11

please click to enlarge
  1. Noticed the morning sun making silhouettes with the lilac bush.
  2. Enjoyed the fall colors from the front door.
  3. Set out the Halloween candy for the trick-or-treat kids.
  4. Put new flannel sheets on our bed. It's been getting down into the 30's at night! Sams Club had sheets, grey with gold accents, just like our room!
  5. Used some pumpkin puree from the garden to make pumpkin bread. It's still in the oven as I write this post. Yum.
  6. Smiled at two of my cats rolling on our neighbor's warm, sun-soaked driveway.
  7. Assembled a new hamper sorter and put it where the upright freezer used to be. Took me an hour. ha. The instructions were weird. Ever have that happen? But it finally came together.
  8. Picked up my Invisaligns at the orthodontist. I've always had a slight overbite and then over the last 2 years have watched several of my teeth begin to overlap each other. Turns out my teeth grinding at night is moving my teeth! In 16 months, they will be completely straight and better than before. Can you see the braces? No? Well, that's because they're invisible. lol. I'm so impressed, really, at the whole process.
  9. Enjoyed the drive to run errands today. Fall is just gorgeous!
  10. Picked even more green peppers and tomatoes from the garden. They just don't want to stop! I've canned lots of salsa and soup. Yum.
Just a lovely, ordinary day!
I hope your day is going well!

  1. I haven't even bought Halloween candy yet...if I put it out now, I'd eat it all before Halloween!

  2. Kathy ~ well, I DID have to sample each kind...lol...

  3. Whew! You do a lot during your day.
    Invisible braces? Now that's cool.

  6. YOUR DAY IS BRIGHT AND SUNNY LOL
Your pictures very uplifting and mine are gloomy and dull trying to express wickedness and evil and huantiness preparing for the great witchy night. lol I have even been trying to read some spooky seer stories about ghosts but too long to make a blog on.
They have halloween but no saints day where we can show airy lightness fairies angels princesses knights dancers singers etc....
We should have a day like this to celebrate and have children walk house to house decorated in splendor to collect sweets or whatever from. Anyway.

  7. nice grab those veggies now...the cold is coming...and they will make a nice counterbalance to all that candy...smiles.

  8. Kitties look like they are having fun
    Rolling around in the sun
An invisible metal mouth you say
Hmm that could make for some fun rhyme play..haha
Admit it you just save all your stuff for wednesday
So you can look busy your way..hahaha
    Yeah screw that instruction thing
I take one look and give it a fling

  9. Pat
Well, I have all day to do what I do
No sitting at a desk pretending to work like you
But you get a paycheck while I work for free
Gee, that doesn't seem fair to me!
    lol...

    ReplyDelete
  10. Awwww. What a gorgeous smile. I don't care if it's the "Before" or the "After" shot, haha!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Silver ~ hopefully next year it will be gorgeouser. If that isn't a word, I'm sure you'll tell me. :)

    ReplyDelete
  12. um...the cheeks will be the same next year. lol...

    ReplyDelete
  13. "Gorgeuser?" Grammar Nazi sez: For you, milady, it is now!

    ReplyDelete
  14. And those cheeks are perfect as is. What a great pair! I could look at those every day & night.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Smartie.

Sometimes my enthusiasm gets the best of me.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'd hate to point out the Shh is spelled wrong, too. Careful or you'll loose that 'grammar nazi' status!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Now, that one's open to artistic license. The more "S"-es or "H"-es you use, the longer the "sh" sound. My "Sh!" was a short, sharp "warning," doll.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Or when you do laundry, do you "washh" your clothes?

    ReplyDelete
  19. No, the machine does that! (ducks)

    ReplyDelete
  20. No fair! You're at the top of your game, and I just woke up.

Nice waking up to that photo of you, I must say, though....

    ReplyDelete
  21. Picture 10? You have got to be kidding. I have 5 green golf ball sized tomatos I hope ripen before the snow falls. They are my first and last of the season. I think you ARE Martha Stewart!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Anita ~ aw, you're just too far north! It's not me...we had a good hot summer for tomatoes!

    ReplyDelete
  23. yikes this reminds me i still have to get candy for our trick or treaters! go away and one's brain goes to mush!!

i can't believe halloween is almost here!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm going to be in Atlanta on Halloween night ... leaving Carl with lots of goodies to hand out. Carl is a 'grinder' too which caused painful headaches, jaw pain, etc. He just had a customized guard made that he sleeps in. Miracle ~ no more pain or headaches.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Helen ~ good for Karl! They told me I won't be able to grind my teeth with my plates in...I wonder if I'll be able to sleep! ha. Have fun on your trip! :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Well, of course you can't grind your teeth with plates in, silly! Even a coffee saucer would probably prevent it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. haha I no longer even pretend half the time
They see me doing my rhyme chime
    Then walk on by
    Sure they bat an eye
    But screw em I say
And look at Silver coming out with the "real me" today
I think it threw off his grammar naziness though
Maybe his face he should not show..haha

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yeah, I think he got flustered
    when he tried to bluster.
    lol

    ReplyDelete
  29. @Pat: "Maybe his face he should not show.." I'll let Betsy field that one. She seems to like the new avatar.

    ReplyDelete
  30. haha...well, I said you should take of the shades instead of hiding behind them!

    ReplyDelete
  31. If you want to see my eyes, you'll have to see 'em in person sometime. Who knows, maybe I might get a new nickname out of it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I cup up a pie pumpkin to cook and make pies with this weekend. :)
Is going to stop raining here soon?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Martha ~ pumpkin pie...yum. That sounds so good, too! No rain here today..so yes! I think you will have dry skies tomorrow. :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hey Betsy yours candies for Halloween lok delicious, I see one of my favorites! lol
I have to buy some candies!oop Silver change the avatar again!
    lol

    ReplyDelete
  35. Gloria ~ I think Silver changed it just for you! :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. "Silver changed it" cuz someone said the last one made me look like I was in my 70s!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Martha ~ oops...I just looked outside and it's pouring!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I love this and the other avatar LOL

    ReplyDelete
  39. Oh yes, a lovely day indeed. I love noticing morning light and pretty shadows.

"My cats"? I do believe you all have adopted each other beautifully.

I'll bet your pantry is beautifully full with garden bounty.

  40. You do these thought collages so well!

My daughter had great success with Invisilines, Betsy. She had spaces in her front teeth and they are now in perfect alignment.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Sounds like a rewarding day.;) Must be nice with invisible braces.;)
Love all your images and so lucky you are with all the fall produce.;))

  43. You have the habit of making the ordinary seems extraordinary : it is not a habit, come to think of it, it is a gift.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Flannel sheets are nice during the winter months. I like the pattern.

I would eat all the candy if it was within my sight, so until that night it will stay hidden.

But what I noticed the most in what you wrote is that you say you "Smiled at two of "my" cats. It makes me think that those are four lucky kittens who had a mama cat smart enough to know which house to bring them.

    Blessings go both ways.

    God bless.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Mrs U ~ yes, they are mine...or I'm theirs. ha. I don't think they are leaving any time soon. :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Pat ~ that's good to know! It's only been one day and I already can tell they have moved ever so slightly. :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Good day Betsy! Where did you put your upright freezer? Garage?

We will be visiting for Trick or Treat!

    The braces are great.

    ReplyDelete
  54. We have one of those laundry sorters - it's the best thing since sliced bread for us :)

I LOVE flannel sheets, but I would get too hot in them now. Darn hormones!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I think perhaps tomorrow will be dry?

    ReplyDelete
  56. What a harvest! I'm sitting waiting for the insides of the pumpkin to be available for my soup, while they carve the outside!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I bought Halloween candy, but realized last night if I don't stop eating one or two a day I'm going to have to go buy more!
