I walked through the leftovers and discarded stuff after working an auction last week. I picked up (1) 2 leaded crystal ice buckets, (2) a milk glass pedestal bowl. (3) an adorable little lamp that fits on my kitchen counter, and (4) a Rowenta Toaster. Also not pictured is a large framed mirror, a bird feeder and 2 baskets. I'm thinking the ice buckets, which are small, would be pretty filled with cookies and given as gifts at Christmas. And I knew Rowenta was a good brand! I did an online search to find it is $80 new, made in France and has a warming basin on it's top to hold a whole loaf of bread. One man's trash, right? Funny thing is, this stuff was paid for in the box lots, but left for the trash. But free for me. Free is fun!
♥
You mean you had stuff you never took pictures off your way?
ReplyDeleteOh the dismay..hahaha
You could really have a little gold mine there
Take all the stuff that is spare
And slap them up on ebay
Then call it a day
To you they are free
To others a fee
And then you win
Filling your money tin
Wow! Great stuff. This auction gig would (almost) be worth it even if they didn't pay you!

Christine ~ they bid and win a box of stuff and pay for it...but they pick out what they want and leave the rest. The discarded stuff always amazes me. Lots of junk...but still nice things to be found.

Free is excellent. I think you should be on a TLC Show...you're better than the American Picker guys!
ReplyDeleteI think those are some beautiful treasures that someone else missed. I like the Rowenta toaster/bread warmer, maybe I need to check out their toasters someday when I need a new one.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Pat in that you should grab as much as you can and then put it up on ebay. I am sure there are many people who would be thankful to be able to have a chance to purchase these treasures.
Just let us know when you start your ebay site.
God bless.
Indeed, free is fun - and even more fun when presented in your impeccable style. I do love toasters : if the dark winter ever does set in, just give me a decent toaster and a bottle of malt.
ReplyDeleteWhy do people throw such wonderful things?!?!!? Yay for you for rescuing them!! They look amazing!!
ReplyDeleteTake care
