Never A Dull Moment

Seriously! There isn't! Between 5 men, 4 kittens, 2 birds and a rabbit loose in the house, there is always something going on. Yesterday afternoon I glanced out the back door and saw this. I think the snake had the mouse (first photo) and the kittens disrupted his dinner. I disposed of the mouse, which was dead. Taylor disposed of the snake, which was alive.

And this is what a saw a few minutes ago while sitting here at my desk. Tiger walking on the roof! It's a daily occurrence! Somehow he gets down just fine.

  2. Well, you'd have to be in charge of killing mice and fighting snakes, too. ha.

  3. I'd gladly do both... when I wasn't peeking through the window!

  4. It's a good thing you don't freak out over these kinds of things...cause you'd be freaked out a lot huh? Thanks for sharing your excitement with us! =)

  5. The snake is just too much excitement for me. I also make my son remove them!

  8. Eww, I just am not comfortable around snakes, we had one sunning himself at the pond last week, I think he ate my frogs !!
Those kittens are getting grown, they keep you entertained don't they.....almost as much as your boys :)

The kitties did not seem scared of it at all
Looked like they were having a ball
And now you have snakes bringing you mice too
    Quite the animal planet crew
haha love Tiger on the roof strutting about
And funny how he gets down easily too without needing to shout

  10. Pat ~ Tiger and Marmalade take turns up there!
It's like guard duty, just being aware
of what's going on all over the neighborhood
    like all territorial cats should.
    ha.

  14. Roy ~ haha...well, maybe he found the mouse I threw his way..it should have been easier to catch the second time around. lol...both went on the other side of the backyard fence. :)

  15. Oh, yuck. For being a nature loving person, a snake will get me running for the kitchen door ASAP!

  16. Oh my I guess you do have an exciting life. Glad Taylor was there to dispose of the snake.

Loved the pictures. Your window is so nice...

  17. The homeschool mom in me comes out when things like snakes and mice appear. Not long ago a friend, also a homeschooling mom, tried to rescue a frog whose head was already being swallowed. (Why do I find that so hilarious?)

  18. Martha ~ I was perfectly content to pick up the snake myself. It's spiders that I don't like. lol.

I think I'd leave the frog if already half inside a snake's mouth, though. haha.

  19. Cats are a one of a kind animal. We had a cat that loved to sit on the chimney and spent hours on our roof. Those kittens are all cat playing with the snake.

  22. Shivers. I'll take a lizard over a snake or a mouse any day! Aren't we lucky to have sons who dispose of unwanted reptiles for us?!

  26. Christine ~ funny how everyone wanted to join me for pancakes but nobody has said they want to come over and see the snake! lol....

  27. I did! I want to climb on your roof, too!

  28. Most of the snakes out here are rattlers, not ones to play with. Although I think the possums keep a handle on most of them. Bees are our big problem right now. I think a hive is growing in the neighbors chimney and they keep trying to start one over here. And lots of wasp nests too.

Our cats never climb on our roof. I think cement tiles are not easy to climb on. Cute pictures.

    God bless.

  30. Oh!My!Word!
Robert would hate the snake as much as I hate spiders. The roof cracks me up.

  31. Ewwwww--the snake I mean. As for the cat on your roof--yeah that sounds like a kitty--they walk pretty much wherever they please. :)

  32. Hi Betsy .. Seriously I believe you! What sort of snake is it - I hope it still lives! Cats are amazing aren't they .. my brother's cat used to get on the roof, realise my bedroom window was open and occasionally after much mewing would 'screech' down land happily on the window frame, then plod into the house ... talk about 9 lives! Cheers Hilary

  36. Mrs U ~ we have a wisteria growing up a pergola in a courtyard and I think they climb up that. At least they aren't leaping from the trees as I once thought they were! ha.

  37. Silver ~ if you fell through, you'd be in big trouble. lol...

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hilary ~ yes, the snake was spared. ha. We just tossed it over the fence. I think it was a garter snake but really should look it up.

  40. Dez ~ oh, cool! Well, these four are the litter of a stray mom who raised them in our back yard and then left. ha. She does come by occasionally to eat but I think the kittens are here to stay. :)

  41. Whoa! You are right about never a dull moment. I love how cats have no fear and are just playing with the snake! I have a tabby cat too. He is cross-eyed. :-) Is yours? I heard that is common in orange cats. Enjoy today's adventure!

  45. Oh dear! I was settling in for happy kitty antics and then I'm like wait... that a snake. A big snake. Glad everyone is ok and great pictures of the whole thing!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Oh holy smokes! That's a big snake. LOL... My cats would be too scared to do that. I had one in the basement a few years back (We have no idea how it got down there. First and last time it ever happened.) And the cats were frozen in place, fur all puffed up and eyes wide opened about 7 feet from it. That's as close as they'd get.
