Last week when I worked at an auction I got to look through and take any leftovers that I wanted. I told you about the dishes, but I also picked up a few other things. One was this silver-plate carafe holder. I had an idea for a unique use for it, so I brought it home!
Here is my canister of coffee beans. Nice. Typical. Boring? Well, yeah, kind of. :)
was missing it's bottom and put them all together to make something a little more fun.
The Mister asked me if my coffee tasted better with the beans coming out of my new container.
I said, "Maybe!" :)

haha..lol..I love it!! Come and see me...I need a decorator for my house!!Tell my uncle to behave..wink wink
ReplyDeleteJen ~ you mean you didn't blow away from Irene? Still have a house to decorate? ha.
ReplyDeleteYou're brilliant!
ReplyDeleteWhy, thanks Mari. Love to do that kind of stuff. Now the old canister is holding parakeet seed. ha.
ReplyDeleteVery impressive. Anything that concerns coffee can't be bad... except spilling it, maybe...
ReplyDeleteSilver ~ cute. That reminds me...little girl kitty Whiskers took a lap of my coffee today! haha. I thought she'd just smell it but she actually tasted it. lol....too funny.
ReplyDeletePerfect fit!
ReplyDeleteNice job MacGyvering up that nifty holder
ReplyDeleteMakes it look much bolder
Least if it isn't tasty
And makes you hasty
It still looks nice
As you reach for your caffiene vice..haha
Pat ~
ReplyDeletewell, that was a clever little rhyme
with words so sublime
yep, it's been officially MacGyvered
with the piece I recovered!
It's perfect !
ReplyDeleteYou have a decorater's imagination..

I LOVE it all! How you got it for free; how you repurposed it; how cool it looks sitting on your counter -- I love everything except the coffee. ha ha I don't care for coffee. :) Cindy
ReplyDeleteCindy ~ lol...well, let's see...we could fill it will tea bags or jelly beans for you then! :)
ReplyDeleteof course it does,, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIrene was a bit of a bother for a few days..lost power for a few days but no rain. Lots of debris and leaves to pick up but thankful it wasnt worse. Think we will be investing in a generator for sure. With the ocean breezes we here the electric goes out for unknown reasons sometimes:) but so far enjoying where we live and enjoying living on the Cape!!
ReplyDeleteA fabulous piece. I love it. Such a great find. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteDoes the Mister drink coffee??? I sure it taste better, just like we know my yogert taste better in my new little dish!!! We women know these things!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that you saw the potential for that carafe holder!!!
Wanda~ he's a tea drinker, so I get the whole pot of coffee to myself! :)
ReplyDeleteyes, we DO know these things, don't we!! ha.
Love this. I always enjoy creating things out of odds and ends. Makes everything so much more interesting. Made those blondies you posted about and they are divine.
ReplyDeletefarmchick ~ oh they are divine, aren't they? That recipe was an instant favorite. I had a couple for breakfast! ha.
ReplyDeleteOf course the coffee tastes better... just like a full tank of gas makes your car run better!
ReplyDeletewell it certainly looks fancier you know...very cool betsy...
ReplyDeleteI love it! How I wish I could be so creative! I've got it in me... somewhere...
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it does taste better. ;)
ReplyDeleteI have a piece almost identical to that which holds a glass potpourri holder by Aromatique.
Very cute with the coffee beans!
a silver-plated carafe holder is very cool. nice addition to the kitchen. i am all for treating our coffee with some reverence:)
ReplyDeleteI love your new holder Betsy and I bet the coffee does taste better.;))
ReplyDeletexoxo
Hello!!! What a lovely blog and look at how sublimely you've made your coffee jar full of yummy beans look too! Wow - how elegant!!! Of course your coffee tastes better - and very very stylish too!
ReplyDeleteTake care

I am with the Mister in being a tea drinker and not really doing the coffee thing.
ReplyDeleteBut it is funny in that I like coffee flavored candy, ice cream, cake, and cookies. Just cannot understand what there is to enjoy about drinking hot coffee. I do like iced coffee drinks though if they have chocolate or caramel mixed with them.
But if I drank hot coffee, I am sure it would taste better coming from a beautifully decorated canister. That was truly a great idea.
God bless.
That's fantastic! Very creative.
ReplyDeleteHi, Betsy. Thanks for visiting my blog from Karen's shindig. Please count me in as your newest follower. I find your work with auctions fascinating, and am in awe of your family. I've done volunteer work with special needs kids, so I know how challenging it can be to raise one autistic child, let alone three. Takes a special kind of woman ... and marriage ... to do that. It's an honor to meet you.
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog as part of the BBQ. It looks like you and my wife would get along very well with the creative stuff. If I'm not actually in my house I don't even remember what color the walls are lol.
Scott

ReplyDeleteI wish I had that sort of an eye. It looks great.
ReplyDeletePretty cute indeed. Next thing you know the beans will be on your bedside table next to your coffee maker.
ReplyDeleteYou have a creative eye - and bit of luck that the jar fitted the stand and the lid fitted the jar!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stylish lady you are. I love the enhanced coffee storage system!
ReplyDeleteCorners ~ I've thought of that...but then I'd need the bean grinder...and a bigger bedside table. lol...
ReplyDeleteRecycling, repurposing...pretty awesome they all fit one another and it looks great!
ReplyDeleteBetsy, looks really cool with all the cast offs put together. White dishes are always nice to have.
ReplyDeleteHow creative! I love it.
