Double Take

About 2 weeks ago, I saw this new mother cat eating on our back porch. She's come around a handful of times since then. She's completely black with green eyes. She looked like she was nursing a litter of kittens, just by the way her underside looked. Our kittens didn't seem to mind her, except for Whiskers. Maybe it was a girl thing. ha.

Sunday afternoon I happened to look out and see her and then saw Mustache out in the yard with a new kitten. He seemed to be doing a double take like I did. Wow! It looked just like a duplicate, mustache and all!
Awww. Just look at that sweet face! Those eyebrows just crack me up! When the kitten retreated back through the picket fence, Mustache lay down to keep watch. This one looks a little scared! The Mister said he thought he saw a second one with the same markings. Hmm. Something tells me that the same tom cat is the dad again. The Mister said, "OK, Mrs. DooLittle! What are you going to do now?"
Here's Mustache back in May. Awww.

What are you going to do now
As if there are two, could be another couple around to take a bow
    Once they see food
    You'll have a whole brood
Running up to you each day
At least 6 will want to play
Safe bet it's the same dad
And mom number two doesn't look at all glad..haha

  7. They must have your house marked as a refuge for homeless mamma cats. :) Sure makes your life interesting doesn't it?

  9. Oboy. Sounds like word of mouth in the cat community is that your place is "where it's at" for wild cats.

How adorable. What are you going to do once the weather turns cold? Build a cat house?

  12. Martha ~ I did build a cat house over the weekend...for the four kittens that have grown up here. It's big enough for them, and it's even heated with a heating pad and layers of old towels. :) Not really interested in building a second story. lol...
