Harry's first trip to the grocery with me went just fine!
In fact, I forgot to document it here and it's his turn again
already this week! We had gone to Sam's Club and he was
very excited that it was his turn! :)
This was also before he gave himself that haircut! ha.
He found some very nice train documentary DVD's in the movie aisle!
But his favorite was the 2 big bags of potato chips!
Of course, if you know Harry, that is no surprise at all!
He even remembered that at Sam's, it's a Buy Any Two deal.
How fun for a chip-loving boy!
I think that look is "Can I open these now?"
The most fun part of shopping with mom is that she lets you eat
in the Jeep on the way home. :)
Nice to see a little traffic! We don't have that in our little village!
♥
I love hearing how well the trip went. I'm a chip girl, myself. I'd rather have chips than fries any day of the week. Good on Harry for being so helpful. :)
ReplyDeletePringles are better as the stack all nice and neat
ReplyDeleteNot getting greasy stuff on your hands and feet..lol
Wow that store has a huge dvd aisle
Nothing much like that around here, just some stacked in a pile
Sounds like fun was had by all
Hey and a dvd of trains saves more pictures from going down the hall..lol
Always nice to see things going smoothly!
ReplyDeletePat ~ I agree about the salty grease
ReplyDeleteI tried a few and wasn't pleased.
This was just a shopping trip treat
and not the usual chip feat.
Did you say grease on his toes?
haha...he'd probably try, goodness knows!
Yes, the pages weren't down the hall
but wouldn't you know the dvd cases took that call!
I should have taken a picture
as it was quite the adventure!
Good job Harry!!
ReplyDeleteDoes Harry share his potato chips...
Love the country on your drive after you leave the city?
Thanks, Silver.
ReplyDeleteThe second trip seems to be a little more of a challenge as they are more comfortable and independent.
I'll have to give an update after he comes with me this week!
Always happy for a smooth trip, though! We've had our share of crazy ones!
Wanda ~ well, he didn't want to share! I asked and he shook his head 'no'! haha. But I took a couple anyway. :)
ReplyDeleteHooray for Harry! Glad the trip went well. I love the smile on his face when he's holding the chips.
ReplyDeleteHe is go cute! I'm thrilled for you both that everything went so well. Good job, Harry. Great job, Mom.
ReplyDeleteHi! Betsy...
ReplyDeleteThanks, for sharing your trip to the grocery with Harry and the very nice photographs Of your adventure too!
deedee ;-)
Love that Harry!♥
ReplyDelete\o/ go Harry! I love that he remembered the "buy any 2" rule. A guy after my own heart LOL
ReplyDeletesmiles. glad he did a great job....i know what he is talking about when it comes to chips...yum...maybe you can talk to my wife on the letting you eat in the car thing...please...smiles.
ReplyDeleteBrian ~ tell Tara life is too short not to eat in the car! Besides, that's what they invented shop vacs for! :)
ReplyDeleteI can understand not eating in bed, but in the car? Silly.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it went well and I am a total chip girl myself.
ReplyDeleteAlways fun!
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I noticed about Harry, was he is so relaxed and content. He's just sitting there, looking out the window.
ReplyDeleteHarry really scored with the DVD's and a car ride home, eating chips.
He probably didn't have much time to eat because there wasn't any traffic.
Wish we had that problem.
Eating while driving in the car could be bad
ReplyDeleteDepending upon what is to be had
Meaning what one is trying to stuff in their yap
Could accidentally speed and get caught in a trap
But when not behind the wheel
No big deal
Unless you're a big slob
Then I'll make you do the cleaning job
DVD cases down the hall too..haha
Oh that I can fill a hall or two
Yes, they are messy eating their chips but we just take it in stride,
ReplyDeletevacuum them up and wash their clothes in Tide.
ha.
I use Era, actually, but that didn't rhyme.
I bet when Brian drives alone
ReplyDeletehe sneaks a burger and a cone
and eats and drives at the same time
won't tell tara...feeling so sublime.
hee.
Christine ~ I think he was the most relaxed now that you mention it. He LOVES to look out the window. The other two are more in tent on getting there. Harry loves to look for cows and horses, which we always see many of.
ReplyDeleteWonderful to hear that the shopping trip went well & I, like Harry, can be a bit of a Chippy Monster when my favourtie chips are about. Chips are so moreish & that's why I deliberatly avoid the chippy aisle. I love the old red barns too, what a lovely place to live.
ReplyDeleteWell done. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI love hearing about the shopping trips with your boys!!! I am always excited for them when they get their chips:-)
ReplyDeleteOh Harry such a sweet boy. I so enjoy reading about your five men. I am like you I love coming back to my pastoral little community.
ReplyDeleteQMM
Good for Harry. Good for YOU Betsy. Okay the "traffic" photo...isn't THAT flag and impressive one? I ALWAYS admire how beautiful it is.
ReplyDeleteHow good to read about your fun adventure together! Your photos are always so inviting...there's nothing like the country for sure!
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful boys you have! And I let Son eat in the car on the way home too!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading about the boys' shopping trips. Glad to hear that it went well.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun day of one on one time for both of you : )
ReplyDeleteNow I'm hungry for chips!
Well done Harry!
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing lady..!! It was really nice hearing about your wonderful trip. I also loved the roads you drive to get back home..!!
ReplyDeleteAnd i hope Harry shared his huge pack of potato chips with you.!!! :)
you have a wonderful blog.. i am definitely following you..!! do drop by my blog someday..!!
take care and happy blogging..!!
I love reading about these shopping trips with your boys and getting a glimpse into their individual personalities! Your Harry and mine share the enjoyment of cattle in the scenery along our drives. :) Hey Bets that's got me thinking...will you email me your address? There's a little something I'd like to mail to your Harry. :) (((Hugs)))
ReplyDeleteJill ~ I didn't really capture how huge that flag is, did I? I always enjoy seeing it!
ReplyDeleteMadhuliki ~ well, thanks very much! Welcome. :)
ReplyDeleteAmy ~ ok! Harry will appreciate a little something in the mail. How sweet of you!
ReplyDeleteVery nice, great photos.
ReplyDeleteChips and dvds, no wonder Harry was happy. The scenery surrounding your home town is beautiful. Love those barns, so picturesque.
ReplyDeleteWhat a trip, what a day. And greetings from one chip-loving guy to another.
ReplyDeleteAwww....Harry knows that Sam's rocks! :D
ReplyDeleteI love your shopping expeditions. It's so hard to remember that they are so much more of an 'event' for all the boys and you for that matter than they are for most. The haircut seems to be recovering
ReplyDeleteI love your header!!! I love old pictures and try to imagine what it must've been like way back then.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you and Harry had a fun trip to the grocry store together. I'm a little envious though, my mom NEVER let eat of the food on the way home. She never bought chips either.
Wonderful, it all is just wonderful. It all makes me smile. You are so patient and kind.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Larry~! Harry's patient and kind, himself! Maybe he takes after his mother? ha.
ReplyDeleteI do so enjoy your posts about the shopping trips.
ReplyDeleteYour shopping trip chronicles are some of my very favorite posts. What a blessing it is to see you enjoying one-on-one time with your boys despite the obstacles.
ReplyDeleteYou mean, first trip to the grocery store this summer, right? he's been before I;m sure.
ReplyDeletethat pic of him with the chips is quite handsome actually. He looks really relaxed there. Love it. Way to go mom and son. :)
I so enjoy reading about the adventures of your everyday life. What an amazing outlook you have.
