After I had this post in draft form and ready to go, look who I saw outside my window! Mr. Hairy Woodpecker! Now, how's that for timing? :)
He's the first one in our yard that I've seen in a couple of years!

ReplyDeleteAnd did you know that there are 200 species of woodpeckers? This one is the Hairy Woodpecker. The one you're thinking of is the Pileated Woodpecker. :)

ReplyDeleteYour little sketch is great. I love it when coincidences happen! I was listening to a BBC radio programme about them once and they were interviewing people on the street. The first person they spoke to was a university professor (or something like that) and he was in the middle of conducting his own enquiry into them. Now how's that for a coincidence!
