EnterTRAINment Junction

Over Christmas break, we took the boys to EnterTRAINment Junction,
the worlds largest train display. It's just a year old and only an hour
from our home. Needless to say, the boys had a wonderful time!
I love the way Harry senses when Alex is feeling anxious.
He's such a sweetheart and loves on every body. :)
We spent several hours there, just letting the boys dictate
where we went and how long we stayed. Spencer was in charge
of course and he had to do a quick once-over of the whole facility
before he'd settle down and actually appreciate what was there.
Two miles of track... Aerial views and up-close-and-personal ones, too. Old time steam trains with cow-catchers in the Old West to the contemporary diesels running through skyscrapers. They left more than their share of fingerprints on the glass!
We had a snack at the cafe.
Looked around at all the scenery.
Stopped in at the movie room. Boring documentaries are their favorite!
Seriously! They find them on youtube all the time!
We did a lot of walking around.
And picked out some fun things at the gift shop.
We were really glad Taylor went along.
Another pair of eyes is always helpful! :)
The boys stood here for a good 30 minutes.
We thought they'd never leave!
It was their favorite view.
Fun times! I'm sure we'll go back again!

  3. How fun!
Do they all love trains? Or is one boy more into trains?
Dumb question, look at them. They all love them.
Great picutes. I love to see families enjoying being together.

  5. What a great family trip!
I noticed all the boys are wearing headphones. Are they listening to something, or drowning out background noise?

  9. I love it! I'll bet they love the boring documentaries because they are calming for them. You think?

Once when the kids were a lot smaller we took two extra teens with us so we had one person for each of our four kids when we went to the City Museum in St. Louis. And we still lost Ben. We knew the general vicinity of where he was, we just had to make sure he didn't get out. So I totally get about having Taylor be an extra set of eyes!

I also think it's funny that Spencer had to do a once-over before he could enjoy it. That makes me crack up.

  12. It seems like a place even I would enjoy.;) The boys seems to be really into it - they look so cute on the pictures.;))
And your oldest one is really handsome.;)
Maybe I ask why the triplets have the earphones? Do they listen to music? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

  16. Kathy G and Zuzana ~ the headsets just muffle sound. They are very sensitive to a lot of noise, especially out in public, crowded places.

  17. Kayren ~ we were afraid Spencer was going to fly through the place in 5 minutes and be ready to leave! haha. We were glad when we figured out what he was doing. :)

  18. This place looks like it was made especially with your boys in mind. I bet they could have stayed all day.

    Hope you feel better soon!

  19. Kayren ~ I should have added that I'm sure we were quite a sight, as I had ahold of the back of Spencer's shirt to keep track of him and had to constantly hold him back from running...so I kept him slowed down to a very fast walk...all the while saying "Excuse us!" to people he practically ran over! haha. Oh dear.

This place looks fascinating. I have a friend that would love to see this...thanks for sharing the site for it.
The boys look good on the side bar...nice photo.

  29. Oh how wonderful! I know they had a brilliant time! Was Alex just nervous at going out or was he afraid he wouldn't be able to keep up with Spenser?
The picture of Harry and Alex in the car is my favorite. It's so sweet!

  30. Amazing looking displays there. I'm sure S, H and A loved it1 did T too?

I see they had a christmas Carol and Journey to the North Pole--did you do those at all, or was the queue simply too long?

Sounds like you had a good time actually so that is excellent. I've never been into toy trains but this looks quite incredible. Love the sort of aerial views, looking down on farmland, etc. And to think, the world's largest is right there in Ohio! Whoa.

  33. What a great place! My grandson was so fascinated with trains when he was little. I knew where a couple of cars were parked and took him there often and he would say "Thomas, Thomas". It was fun. He would probably still enjoy the Junction, I know I would!
I love all of the pictures of the boys. They look totally absorbed in the displays.
