Tiny Tree

The Mister serves on the board of our local hospital and
attended a construction tour this week of a second hospital being
built in our county. The construction company is Scandinavian
and they have a tradition of placing a live pine tree on the highest
steel beam during construction as a symbol of blessing.
You local readers, look across the street from Sam's Club in
in Beavercreek and you'll see it! :)
Everyone in attendance was given a little
tree to take home. Isn't he cute? He's only about 10" tall.
Presently, he's enjoying the indoors with my houseplants.
I've been watering it and talking to it. Think that will help it grow?
He looks happy so far! :)
Maybe he could stay inside and be part of the
Christmas decorations!

  1. He's cute - I'd sing to him too! Maybe some early Christmas carols to give him a hint of things to come ;-)

What a sweet tradition that is - something to think about.

    Big hugs,

  17. Oh how cute...I love idea of the little tree being a blessing for the construction workers and the hospital they are building.

When we retired ~ one of the gentlemen in the church gave me a start from the huge pine tree that stood in front of the church we served for 27 years. It's in my back yard now...got too big for the house, and it's in need of a replanting in a bigger pot...or the ground.

Thanks for sharing a blessing this morning!

  18. That tree is very tiny. An ornament, even a tiny one, would tip it over. (Just like Charlie Brown's tree.)

  19. Hate to repeat everyone….but, Charlie does come to mind when I look at the tree.

  24. Our kids once got trees for Arbor Day from McDonalds...same size as your Charlie Brown tree. The trees are beautiful now, I see them when I pass our old home. I wish we could have brought them here when we moved!

  25. What a darling little sprout!

You might want to do a bit of research on taking care of pine trees. I know that living Christmas trees don't do well inside.

  29. When we lived in Germany, they did a similar thing, only it was an entire tree that was tied to the chimney of a new house construction.
