Half Full Friday #1

I recently found a new weekly series that is just SO me! Kind of like riding the waves or making lemonade from lemons...and you know how important I think that attitude is! A lot of our happiness is determined by our attitude. By participating, you are choosing to see the glass as half full instead of half empty. You are choosing to concentrate on the positives instead of the negatives. So the challenge is to keep a list of things that brought you a smile during the week. On Fridays, post the list and link up to Eye Girl at Life As Eye See It and join in the happiness. :) Here's what I'm happy for this week:
  1. I'm happy it didn't rain on me when I went to the grocery! (it ALWAYS does that!)
  2. I'm happy my dearest friend called to chat this week. (it had been WAY too long!)
  3. I'm happy to see the first of the fall colors in the trees. (my favorite season!)
  4. I'm happy that although all the boys have had colds this week, nobody had to miss school.
  5. I'm happy to see the bottom of the laundry hamper!
  6. I'm happy I have a self cleaning oven! LOL!

The bottom of the hamper is ALWAYS a welcome sight!!!

  5. But the bottom of the hamper is a short-lived thing, isn't it? I'm fairly certain I only saw it for a second before someone threw in a pair of jeans and stinky socks! ha.

  8. Definitely counting your blessings regularly is the best way to stay sane. How good that someone has made a blog topic out of it. The second best way to stay sane is to hear other people counting theirs! My best gift this week was a friend mending my bathroom door - it now shuts properly after sticking for years. Hooray - thanks D!

  19. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting on my blog. And welcome to Half Full Friday! I hope that this is something you'll continue to participate in.

I'm not a big fan of fall as it brings the start of cold weather but I do love the changing colors of the leaves!

Seeing the bottom of the laundry hamper is always a nice feeling.

  20. Well, it's been a rough week, but there were still funny things! My Mom fell and cracked her head, and was delirious, etc. - but when the doctor was trying to find out if she was oriented, he asked her how old she was. She confidently said, "61," and he nodded and thought she was fine. I said, "Excuse me. She's 72!" He looked so startled and it was obvious that if she had said 72, he would have thought something was wrong. It's nice to look younger than your age. But doctors shouldn't ask questions that they don't know the answers to! :)
