continually turned to making the best out of a bad
situation, looking at the glass as half full instead of
half empty, and keeping a sense of humor.
So naturally, when Mr. Toast announced the Creative
Tuesday theme as being limits or boundaries, I thought of
a few of my favorite quotes that go along that line of thinking.
And then I wrote my own to go around my glass of
lemonade...which is completely full, I might add! ;)
only real limits to our possibilities.

Your current safe boundaries were once unknown frontiers!

I seldom think about my limitations,
and they never make me sad.
Perhaps there is just a touch of yearning at times;
but it is vague, like a breeze among flowers.
Helen Keller

Most people are not really free.
They are confined by the niche in the world
that they carve out for themselves. They limit themselves
to fewer possibilities by the narrowness of their vision.
V. S. Naipaul

And the peace of God, which passes all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philipians 4:7

The only thing that could spoil a day was people.
People were always the limiters of happiness
except for the very few that were as good as spring itself.

I want to be one of the 'very few' that Hemingway talks about!

Great post. I think we all have to look at the positive everyday. Even bad things can turn out positive if we just believe and look for it. Hope you have a blessed day. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteOh Betsy, love your "full" glass of lemonade... I'm a full glass person and you inspire us all with your everyday full glass attitude.
ReplyDeleteThe quotes are great. What fun it is to be a part of Mr. Toast. Will post mine this afternoon.
Wanda ~ thank you. Can't wait to see yours! I think we will have a very wide variety of interpretation on this one!
ReplyDeleteBetsy, your positive approach to life is a great example to everyone. These quotes are good reminders to all of us that our attitudes dictate our limits. Thanks for a fresh and uplifting post.
ReplyDeletelove your lemonade...that is what i come to expect when i come here...lots of smiles regardless of the circumstances.
ReplyDeleteBetsy, you are one of the very few...you really are! I love the perspective on your glass of lemonade. When viewed from above it will always look full...that's how God sees our lives...full of His possibilities.
ReplyDeleteStevie ~ "When viewed from above it will always look full...that's how God sees our lives...full of His possibilities."
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to look at it! Love that...thank you for that perspective. :)
This is a great take on the prompt and personifies your outlook on life. That's wonderful. I agree with what steviewren said! How insightful! I love lemonade!!

QMM ~ Peggy, yours are always great! Can't wait to see it! :)
ReplyDeleteAmen! I loved this... and, yes, it's so true, there are no boundaries when we make lemonade!
ReplyDeleteI love them all; so much truth in those words. We are our own worst enemies at times; limiting ourselves and our potential due to random and unfounded fears.;)
ReplyDeleteGreat inspirational read for a Monday - hope yours is great.
xo
Love all these good quotes..and the cake below it stopped me in my tracks! :D
ReplyDeleteloved the picture and your beautiful words....and the quotes...lovely post..thank you..x
ReplyDeleteBetsy, I love the way you think. Phil. 4:8, "Whatsoever things are true, lovely. . . think on these things." I really struggle to remember that, because it seems I'm more of a glass-half-empty thinker by nature. So, thanks for your beautiful example!
ReplyDeleteI love these quotes. Staying positive is so important, but at times so hard!
ReplyDeleteHa. Another very clever interpretation. Trust you to make lemonade here. Ha. Love that. And yes, a full glass too. Your blog itself, if an image, could be this CT contribution which sums you up so well. A very good doodle to boot, I might add! thank you Betsy for working on this as alawys. Love the quotes too. Helen keller's jsut blow me away really.
ReplyDeletei'm adding your sketch to the montage right now!
Mmm ~ 'a very good doodle to boot'...haha...that is SO like you to say that! :)
ReplyDeletePerfect illustration, full of whimsical curves and lemonade!
ReplyDeleteLove the quotes!
What a lovely picture. It always helps to be positive, makes life a lot easier to cope with
ReplyDeleteAs usual, your wisdom bubbles up to the surface : like that lemonade of yours.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the glass being half full instead of half empty. I like how you took this comment and turned it into lemonade. Your drawing looks refreshing-think I will go make a pitcher of lemonade. :)
ReplyDeletePositivity :))...Such a fun drawing and wonderful quotes to share. I hear the verse from Phillipians every Sunday at Church as part of our Liturgy...That carries one through a lot.
