Thank you so much for all of your
wonderful good wishes for my trip!
I had a great time with my sweet uncle
Steve at his home in Sarasota, Florida!
My Taylor and his friend Daniel (remember the dead
mouse episode?) ended up tagging along and had a
great time, too! The boys took Steve's extra car
and did their own thing most days and we would all
meet up together for dinner. We had our fill of
crab legs, lobster tails and scallops, along with good
old homemade sandwiches eaten from a cooler with
sand between our toes.
We spent time at Lido Beach, Siesta Key,
Longboat Key, Anna Maria Island and
Busch Gardens. I even got to meet my
local friend and blogger Marcia, who just
happened to be going to Florida for Easter,
too! We met for lunch and a walk on the beach!
The Mister and the triplets survived at home pretty
well. I got home after the boys were in bed and it was
amusing to see them peek into my bedroom this morning
to see me laying in bed...they all took turns as if they were
saying "Look! Mom is home!" I even got a few kisses when
I got up! Spring sprung in Ohio while I was gone with
the first lawn mowing, the magnolia tree blooming,
and temperatures in the 80's today!
That made it easier to get back into the routine!
Can't wait to catch up with all of you...I'll be around to visit
your blogs very soon...just as soon as I get all the sand
out of my luggage! :)
Welcome home, Betsy! We missed you but are so happy you had a well deserved break from routine. Your pictures are simply beautiful....nothing better than the beach, in my book, for relaxation!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a great trip. Wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteAs I drove past your house I KNEW you would be so pleased to see how beautiful the Magnolia was when you got home! SPECTACULAR!
How did you like Anna Maria Is? My family took our vaca there last yr and loved it. We had planned to go again this yr, in May, but the eldest son was offered schooling in Costa Rica right after the semester ends so...wah!
ReplyDeleteLove the beaches on the Gulf. The sand is white and clean and the water is warm and the waves are decent. Glad you had such a good time.
I am thrilled for you ... that part of Florida is really my favorite! You deserved the break you had and your description of the boys when you returned home was priceless.
ReplyDeletewelcome home betsy. sounds like you had a wonderful time...the pics are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! Looks like you had a great time! I bet your boys were thrilled to see you laying in that bed. :)
ReplyDeleteThe mister deserves a round of high fives!
Cali Girl ~ you are right about the beaches...the sand is so fine and clean it felt like we were walking in baby powder...amazing!
ReplyDeleteWelcome home! I've been watching for a post to see when you got back. It looks like it was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the last picture of the two boys. We've been doing this love and respect class in Sunday school, and on the video the guy just talked about how girls/women talk/communicate face to face, and guys talk/communicate shoulder to shoulder, occasionally looking at each other. That picture says it all, but I love it because it's just such a great shot.
Glad The Mister and the other boys made it without you all.
Welcome home! I'm glad you had such a nice break! Spring has really sprung here too...finally! Your photos are beautiful, there is just something about them that says FLORIDA...maybe the pink tint in the sky!

ReplyDeleteMy family vacationed in Sarasota when we were kids. We stayed on Lido...:)...Did you go to the Ringling House and museum by any chance? That was the first museum I ever visited.
Rebecca ~ the Ringling Museum was on our list but we ran out of time! My uncle lives very close to it. He was a wealth of knowledge about the whole family and their history, though, and shared lots of stories one evening as we sat on an inlet and watched the sunset glow on the water. :)
ReplyDeleteRats. Thought I'd already commented on this post! Add me to the chorus of those saying "Welcome back." Very cool post, overall!
ReplyDeletewhat a happy group of trip pictures...the beach a true gem!!
