virtual tea party! Before the tea, I'm enjoying being
taken around the city in a wonderful horse drawn
sleigh...site seeing and shopping in this gorgeous place!
Last night, I met some of the others for a dinner
that Rebecca hosted...just lovely!
Aspen is full of snow and Christmas cheer.
Here's my gown for the tea!
I thought my garnet jewelry would look nice.
And a full length mink coat to keep me Toasty! hee!
Keith from At Home With Keith has asked if he
could escort me to the tea! Wow...I'm flattered to
be on the arm of this handsome older gentleman!
We're sure to have a splendid time! ;)
Pop over to Mr. Toast's blog and have a peak
at the festivities!
"Shopping" You've been shopping! As far as I can make out there is nothing other than an old convenience store and a gas station?
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the dinner last night! Gretchen has gone to a "spa" in town this morning. I'm just sitting around the room at "Bob's Pretty Good Inn" watching MSNBC. I love Keith and Rachael!
ReplyDeletesmiles. i am sure you will look stunning in that ensemble...see you soon!
ReplyDeleteWow, great dress! Hope you don't get too cold. Oh, wait, with that mink coat, you should be fine. I was going to suggest a cape...
ReplyDeleteSo sorry I couldn't attend. However, my friend & partner the Skipster -- and his lovely assistant, Gretchen -- will assuredly represent Simpson/Lynch Studios in style!
Skip ~ the spa...what a great idea! Maybe I'll join her for a while! Yes, dinner was lovely...it was great chatting with some of our blog friends! You seem to be the life of the party...but that doesn't surprise me a bit! ;)
ReplyDeleteMr Fox....hahahaha!
ReplyDeleteWHAT FUN!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sleigh ride picture - what fun.
ReplyDeleteOh, Alan...it's Aspen, Colorado, USA...not Aspen, Sweden! Hop on a jet and go west! ha~
ReplyDeleteYour coat is much nicer that Aunt Agatha's old manky muskrat! I had to shake out the mothballs from the pockets, so don't be offended by my overdoing it with the "L'Air du Temps". I'll be drinking smoky Lapsang if I can find it, to help soak up the offending odours!
ReplyDeleteDid you enjoy the butternut crescents? Aren't they to DIE for?
Hee-hee...Oh, Kat, just stand out in those crisp, clean mountain breezes and that should air out your muskrat coat! hee!
ReplyDeleteYes, loved the crescents...so glad these cyber delicacies are calorie free! :) You'll have to share the recipe sometime...would we get that from you or from Jeeves?
I love your style, that dress is stunning.;) Seems like you are enjoying that virtual trip.;)

Good morning, Betsy.
ReplyDeleteIt seems some of guests have missed a lovely dinner last night, as well as a bit of fun. Hopefully it will continue throughout today. I have been looking forward to this trip/Tea party. Life back in New York is just too hectic right now. I'm looking forward to a relaxing and great time...and meeting new people.
YP.S. your dress is smashing! :)
Lizzie ~ oh, yes, it will be so great to meet you! I'm looking forward to the tea, too. In fact, if you pop over at Mr. Toast's place, some early birds have already gathered. We're nibbling on some goodies and chatting...such a nice change of pace from our hectic lives....come and join us!
ReplyDeleteThis is such fun, eating all the no-cal goodies and slurping down gallons of the best English teas.
ReplyDeleteYou do look gorgeous in your tea dress Betsy - and garnets will be a fabulous change after being blinded by all those Aspen celebs in their diamonds!!
Stay warm - enjoy the music.
Mary, Oh, I so agree...love the garnets and being a bit understated. I'm looking forward to meeting you...and you'll be able to point out all the best teas, won't you!
ReplyDeleteYour outfits are beautiful and I am so glad to see you brought the mink. I had second thoughts but threw it in just in case. No one knows that yet!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll be catching up with you in a while but at the moment am tripping around Aspen with a delightful gentleman - have no idea whether not not he's with our party but he looks awfully familiar!!!
No, more than sure as Brian says, you ARE stunning in that ensemble. Love the long coat and the dress. How lovely.
ReplyDeleteWell, all I can say is that Keith is a jolly lucky fellow! :)
Enjoy the spa. Hope Gretchen doesn't get lost trying to read all the signs in English! Ha.
And yes, that is the very same carriage I used and have up here as you've seen by now :) Fun.
Mmm ~ thanks so much, Mr. Toast!
ReplyDeleteI did see that carriage! ;) Looks like we shared photos...haha. Yes, Keith is a fun blog friend that I met several months ago. Can't wait to see him tonight...so nice of him to ask!
GAAH! Looks like I've missed another party, wot? Cheers and hugs Betsy!
ReplyDeleteThat's because its not jst he same photo, it's the same carriage. I hope you liked it!
ReplyDeleteI checked out Keith and gave my approval. He better have you in by midnight, though! ;^) See you there!
ReplyDeleteBecky, you are one hardworking girl. Redecorating, making baskets, cooking, and you even have time for travel...love your lifestyle!
ReplyDeleteAlso loving your "favorite things" on the sidebar.
Willow ~ I'm sure he will...but let's make it my time and not his! hee!

Betsy, I am quite toasty from the wine. Shall we go for a short sleigh ride? :)
ReplyDeleteLizzie ~ yes, a wonderful sleighride in the night with snow falling...how perfect!
ReplyDeleteRxBambi~ I tried to get Otin to come and bring you!
ReplyDeleteMy date has already gone...just pop over and say hello...I'll get you a glass of mulled wine..
Now, this in one AMAZING GOWN...and that coat is fab...BEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteLizzie ~ you know, you really should start a blog. It would be splendid...or have you already? I can't get to your profile.
ReplyDeleteI'm just helping collect tea cups after the party. Great to have met you!
ReplyDeleteBarry ~ oh, how good of you...I do have a few empty ones here! So nice to see you and Linda again! :)
ReplyDeleteBetsy thanks for stopping by, it was a lovely tea party and loved your outfit, btw.
ReplyDeleteBetsy, this has been fun. I just might start up a blog. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful trip! I love your outfit and earrings to match. I wish I could have made it, but so many parties, so little time. Very pretty post.
ReplyDeleteOh, my. What a magical place and such a beauty you will be. I can almost hear the snow fall and the music, through those threes, weaving in and out. Have a wonderful time. If only....
ReplyDelete@Betsy: Umm... Not that it's any of my business -- seeing how I'm with the perky Tara King now, and all -- but... Who's this "Keith" guy?
ReplyDeletei never got the invite. guess i'll drink tea all by my lonesome...
ReplyDeleteIt was a real treat to sing some Christmas songs with you last night Betsy and thank you so much for thinking of the gift baskets. Your dress was the essence of Christmas. I loved the way it glittered when you moved. Our olympic friends had a wonderful time last night.
ReplyDeleteLynne ~ why thank you...it was a wonderful time! I must pop over today and see how you are coming along after your ordeal last week!
ReplyDeleteMr. Fox ~ I read on another blog some lady talking about your cape last evening....I informed her that it belonged to ME! ha!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the slice!
ReplyDeleteI love the sweet banner... -Jayne
Mr. Fox ~ Keith is a British blogger...not sure how he found me, but we've been chatting with each other virtually for a few months now. Go say hello..."At Home With Keith" is his blog. :)
ReplyDelete@Betsy: Someone else mentioned the cape? Seriously? I must have missed that blog! I couldn't do a Tea post, so I just visited a handful of blogs yesterday, leave my wiseguy remarks. (And I certainly don't want you thinking there are dozens of spare Zorro capes left as souvenirs dotting the landscape. No, m'dear, you have the only one!)
ReplyDeleteOops. "Leave" should have been "left." I was up until about six a.m. drafting a Simpson/Lynch post for TT, and haven't had my "morning" coffee yet!
ReplyDeleteYes, Mr. Fox....it isn't someone I normally blog with, so I can't recall who it was. If I come across her again, I'll let you know. Whew...I'm so glad there is only one!
ReplyDeleteYes, Betsy, only one! I may have Tara now, but I also have... my memories.
