Mr. Toast's Tea

Well, we're gathering up in Aspen today for Mr. Toast's
virtual tea party! Before the tea, I'm enjoying being
taken around the city in a wonderful horse drawn
sleigh...site seeing and shopping in this gorgeous place!
Last night, I met some of the others for a dinner
that Rebecca hosted...just lovely!
Aspen is full of snow and Christmas cheer. Here's my gown for the tea! I thought my garnet jewelry would look nice.
And a full length mink coat to keep me Toasty! hee!
This is making me want to move to the mountains!
Keith from At Home With Keith has asked if he
could escort me to the tea! Wow...I'm flattered to
be on the arm of this handsome older gentleman!
We're sure to have a splendid time! ;)
Pop over to Mr. Toast's blog and have a peak
at the festivities!

  1. "Shopping" You've been shopping! As far as I can make out there is nothing other than an old convenience store and a gas station?

  2. Enjoyed the dinner last night! Gretchen has gone to a "spa" in town this morning. I'm just sitting around the room at "Bob's Pretty Good Inn" watching MSNBC. I love Keith and Rachael!

  4. Wow, great dress! Hope you don't get too cold. Oh, wait, with that mink coat, you should be fine. I was going to suggest a cape...

So sorry I couldn't attend. However, my friend & partner the Skipster -- and his lovely assistant, Gretchen -- will assuredly represent Simpson/Lynch Studios in style!

  5. Skip ~ the spa...what a great idea! Maybe I'll join her for a while! Yes, dinner was lovely...it was great chatting with some of our blog friends! You seem to be the life of the party...but that doesn't surprise me a bit! ;)

  6. Beautiful sleigh ride picture - what fun.

  7. Oh, Alan...it's Aspen, Colorado, USA...not Aspen, Sweden! Hop on a jet and go west! ha~

  8. Your coat is much nicer that Aunt Agatha's old manky muskrat! I had to shake out the mothballs from the pockets, so don't be offended by my overdoing it with the "L'Air du Temps". I'll be drinking smoky Lapsang if I can find it, to help soak up the offending odours!

Did you enjoy the butternut crescents? Aren't they to DIE for?

  9. Hee-hee...Oh, Kat, just stand out in those crisp, clean mountain breezes and that should air out your muskrat coat! hee!

Yes, loved the crescents...so glad these cyber delicacies are calorie free! :) You'll have to share the recipe sometime...would we get that from you or from Jeeves?

  11. Good morning, Betsy.
It seems some of guests have missed a lovely dinner last night, as well as a bit of fun. Hopefully it will continue throughout today. I have been looking forward to this trip/Tea party. Life back in New York is just too hectic right now. I'm looking forward to a relaxing and great time...and meeting new people.

YP.S. your dress is smashing! :)

  12. Lizzie ~ oh, yes, it will be so great to meet you! I'm looking forward to the tea, too. In fact, if you pop over at Mr. Toast's place, some early birds have already gathered. We're nibbling on some goodies and chatting...such a nice change of pace from our hectic lives....come and join us!

  13. This is such fun, eating all the no-cal goodies and slurping down gallons of the best English teas.

You do look gorgeous in your tea dress Betsy - and garnets will be a fabulous change after being blinded by all those Aspen celebs in their diamonds!!

Stay warm - enjoy the music.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh, my. What a magical place and such a beauty you will be. I can almost hear the snow fall and the music, through those threes, weaving in and out. Have a wonderful time. If only....

    ReplyDelete
  39. @Betsy: Umm... Not that it's any of my business -- seeing how I'm with the perky Tara King now, and all -- but... Who's this "Keith" guy?

    ReplyDelete

  41. It was a real treat to sing some Christmas songs with you last night Betsy and thank you so much for thinking of the gift baskets. Your dress was the essence of Christmas. I loved the way it glittered when you moved. Our olympic friends had a wonderful time last night.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Lynne ~ why thank you...it was a wonderful time! I must pop over today and see how you are coming along after your ordeal last week!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Mr. Fox ~ I read on another blog some lady talking about your cape last evening....I informed her that it belonged to ME! ha!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Thanks for the slice!
I love the sweet banner... -Jayne

    ReplyDelete
  45. Mr. Fox ~ Keith is a British blogger...not sure how he found me, but we've been chatting with each other virtually for a few months now. Go say hello..."At Home With Keith" is his blog. :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. @Betsy: Someone else mentioned the cape? Seriously? I must have missed that blog! I couldn't do a Tea post, so I just visited a handful of blogs yesterday, leave my wiseguy remarks. (And I certainly don't want you thinking there are dozens of spare Zorro capes left as souvenirs dotting the landscape. No, m'dear, you have the only one!)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oops. "Leave" should have been "left." I was up until about six a.m. drafting a Simpson/Lynch post for TT, and haven't had my "morning" coffee yet!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Yes, Mr. Fox....it isn't someone I normally blog with, so I can't recall who it was. If I come across her again, I'll let you know. Whew...I'm so glad there is only one!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yes, Betsy, only one! I may have Tara now, but I also have... my memories.

I'm serving coffee! Stay and chat!
