Betsy, Oh my goodness. This takes me back aways. I used to have a Christmas Cactus. It did real well, but I can't remember what I did to make it grow. Yours is so beautiful. Good luch with it! The Bach
I love the pink shade of the blooms and the plant stand is perfect for this lovely creation. The name Christmas Cactus make me think of the contrast between the thought of a cactus as a desert plant and Christmas with all the snow. Great image!
I have Christmas cactus plants in our master bathroom (the mother plant), the kitchen, and one that summered outside and is in for the winter (which I meant to Freecycle but never got around to).
I don't do anything, other than water them when they start to look wrinkled and I realized I've been neglecting my duties :-) I think they bloom better the older they are. The bathroom plant has a bloom at the end of almost every "stem"; once it starts blooming it will keep going for more than a month.
I love Christmas cactus. Sadly mine didn't bloom this year so I'll just come here and look at yours! take care...;p
ReplyDeletejojo ~ if you know any tricks to keeping it healthy, I'd love to know!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo. Is that really yours? How festive indeed.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty, Betsy!! And I love that adorable header picture too!
