Easter Dinner Ideas

We traditionally have ham for Easter Dinner.
The sides dishes and desserts vary depending
on the whims of the cook! :)
I usually like to do something seasonal and fresh
to break away from the winter meals.
Do you have any Easter dinner traditions?

  5. I think this year I'm going to forgo the ham and cook a turkey. I picked one up this week on sale and think it will be a nice change. I also bought a ham though and will cook that later. I do like traditional meals. Hugs, Marty

  6. In my Slavic culture ham was served as well, but more cold cut on a platter, with pickles and hardboiled eggs.
It is also very common to bake a sponge cake in a form that looks like a lamb.;))
In Denmark, people eat pickled herring.;))

  7. We go fairly casual for Easter dinner...we have a big crowd. We do ham as well, and usually have croissants so there is the option of having a sandwich. Then everyone brings different salads. I love to have strawberry spinach salad and I'll be doing baked beans as well this year.

  12. The whole family used to meet after church at my parent's house for picture taking and then go out to eat with each other. The family is too big and spread out now. I'm going over to my sister's after church. She is cooking for our parents and me. Then anyone else who can is coming later for dessert.

Ham and squash casserole sound good to me. Potato salad and peas sound yummy too.

  14. I love an Easter brunch with lots of people to share it with!

This year Easter will be quiet and a bit scattered for us, but I'm still trying to find a few little ways to make it special.
