A new study suggests that middle-aged adults who regularly
drink a cup of coffee may have a lower risk
of developing dementia later in life.
The study found that among 1,400 Finnish adults followed for 20 years,
those who drank three to five cups of coffee per day in middle-age
were two-thirds less likely than non-drinkers
to develop dementia, including Alzheimer's disease.
Yes, that's me... in my "favorite, old, broken-in wooly sweater"
No, I won't show you my nails...
I've been stripping wallpaper, remember?
photo ~ my favorite antique mug
That is a beautiful mug! I think it would be my favorite too. Funny how we all seem to bond to one mug in particular.
ReplyDeleteThis is indeed great news for a coffee lover like me.;))
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful ring you are wearing; I love the simple yet striking design.;)
Protege ~ thank you! The ring is an antique, just like the mug!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness, for the news on coffee. I have to have mine but, my mug is not as pretty as yours.
ReplyDeleteI hope to be able to think of a blog subject before Spring.
Right now my mind is blank, so I guess I will go drink some more coffee. Hugs~~~~ Leslie
Coffee looks good, and I use to love smelling it while it was dripping through, I can no longer smell, so I never know what is dripping through now, LOL. But I just don't care for coffee. I would rather drink hot cocoa or ice tea. One time at work, when one of the men was going to the coffee machine, asked if I wanted some, I said heavens no, I don't drink coffee. He said what are you a communist or something. No, I just don't like that bitter taste it leaves in my mouth. Have a great week-end. You need to wear rubber gloves while stripping wall paper, can you do that? I doubt it, probably pretty awkward.
ReplyDeleteI was happy to see that study because I live on coffee! Your wedding ring is beautiful!

I'm all over this study! I wonder if more than 5 cups makes you even smarter!!!! Hey, have a great weekend and don't forget to have a good laugh!
ReplyDeleteFirst off, rings darling too.
ReplyDeleteSecond, with all the bad stuff that goes in my mouth, I've yet to hear bad stuff about my wonderful coffee. I'll just give up reading if I do!
And I'm so glad it's not only one cup and you said three to five cups. I should be very safe indeed, although some people might already question my sanity. :)
Love your ring, Betsy - I am bit of a ring fanatic... I know I only have 10 fingers but I just can't have enough!! Have another cuppa Joe and I will join you! I usually love dark, very strong coffee but occasionally I get wooed by flavoured coffees - raspberry chocolate used to be one of my faves! Yummy!
ReplyDeleteShould say "I am a bit..." Oy!
ReplyDeleteKayren ~ me, too! Yes, the study showed that drinking 3-5 cups daily was better than only drinking one! And 2/3rd's less of a chance to have dementia is really impressive! Yea...we can enjoy our coffee guilt free! BTW...my Sams didn't have any of our faves again. I think you are right about them not carrying them anymore! :(
ReplyDeletehip hip HOORAY!! bc i simply CANNOT give it up! i believe i deserve a vice lol...oh, your family is so amazing. sigh...i admire you so!
ReplyDeleteI saw that article too! An a-ok to ejoy some java. Your coffee looks great- thanks, I think I'll have a cup.
ReplyDeletechhers for coffee ~so glad to know this! the mug and ring outshine it all though!!
ReplyDeleteYipee,,,,love my coffee!!
ReplyDeleteWell that's good news. There are loads of good reports on tea as well, and since I drink both tea and coffee I guess I'm covered!

I LOVE this photo--gorgeous rich coloured table top, lovely ring, charming mug with mmmm coffee in it, and a very nice hand, to boot! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Francois broke the coffee machine yesterday. He dropped it while filling it with water! I love it when he's clumsy! I'm quite the butterfingers myself. It makes me feel so kindred to him! I'm off to buy a new one today! Especially after reading this post!
ReplyDeleteGeeez. I can't imagine what a moron I'd be without my cup-o-Joe. :)
ReplyDeleteGood news!! Perhaps this will off-set the bad health that those working nights are supposed to encounter.
ReplyDeleteMarcia ~ yes, enjoy the coffee! But YOU need more sleep! How are you coming along with that resolution??? :)
