Oh, one of my favorites, funny you posted about this, I went out and cut a bouquet yesterday. I was thinking at the time, I wonder if anyone will post about these gorgeous ladies. I mixed them with hosta blooms and lavender!
I've always loved Queen Anne's Lace! I have nice memories of gathering large bouquets when I was little. This painting looks so real...just like the blue and white Holland pitcher than was Grandma's.
Willow ~ yes, I immediately thought of that pitcher of grandmas in your kitchen! I love this little cookbook and will be posting a few more of her paintings from it. They are so realistic!
I think enjoying flowers is one of the purest delights we have in life. How dull it would be without them. they aren't a luxury but a necessity. Super picture.
I'm glad i'm not the only one who sees beauty in "weeds," Betsy! :-) I always admire roadside flowers, and Queen Anne's Lace is one of my favorites also.
That is very nice. But as we learned in agricultural studies, a weed is considered a plant growing in an area that you don't want it. Have a great day.
You know Betsy... I saw these growing wild in fields when I was younger....what a beautiful painting...and it is true the fancy water bottle just might encourage me to drink from it more often :)
Weed? wow, it looks like something a bride should be carrying down the aisle.....
ReplyDeleteLavinia ~ yes, it would make a beautiful bridal bouquet!

I know! As a kid, I was taught these were weeds, too. Then I saw a relative arrange them in a vase at a family reunion picnic. They were enchanting!

ReplyDeleteYes, Pat....you, too...was that you with the pic of the pretty thistle in the sidewalk the other day? I think they are beautiful, too.
ReplyDeleteStrider...Is that the definition of a weed? I never knew that!
