  1. Betsy....I'm always keeping an eye out for you on anything I read about autism....Aol.com has big article titled Fringe Autism Treatment Could Get Federal Study....just briefed first paragraph...Removes heavy metal from body..the theory that mercury in vaccines triggers autism...Mercury was removed from vaccines in 2001 except for some flu shots....

I hope the information is helpful..Good blessings today sweet friend... Dee Dee

  3. One of my favorite things to do, berry picking, last week while in Alabama, we were able to pick blueberries, until our buckets runneth over. I am still putting them into the freezer. My raspberry bushes are loaded, I cannot wait! I love your painting, it is so vivid. Now to see what delicious berry recipe you will hopefully share!

  4. That reminded me of picking "black caps" as a kid. What a job....cut arms and hands, purple stains.....but the effort was always well worth it.

  5. Deedee ~ thanks so much for this information. I think there is a lot of truth to this theory and we have treated our boys for heavy metals for a couple of years now. They were normal little guys until they received their 18 month vaccinations. There are still supposedly 11 shots on the market that still contain mercury as a preservative. Scary! I'll be sure to look up this article...thank you!

  6. Kim ~ yes, I've been out in my backyard in the raspberries! It's just the second year for these and they are having a great season with our warm temps and lots of rain. There's something very gratifying about picking food right from your yard!

  7. Strider ~ when I was a girl I picked blackberries in a field across the street from our house. I'd spend hours in there crawling through the brush. I can't believe I never got poison ivy!

  8. Betsy, I'm quite surprised when I read your comment about your sons being normal little guys until the 18 month vaccinations. Am I understanding correctly...I thought autism was something one was born with.....if the vaccines are to blame, I kind of wonder why a class action law suit hasn't been launched by all the parents against the drug companies that manufacture them? I'm sorry if any of this is already known, as I know next to nothing about autism....

  9. Lavinia ~ yes, it's far too long an explaination for here, but there was a huge increase in children being diagnoses with autism around the same time the pharmaceutical companies added mercury (thimerosol) as a preservative to vaccinations. They also combined some of the vaccines so at 18 months, the child is given more than before...MMR, DPT, etc. Babies that were developing normally took on many symptoms of autism...lost speech, eye contact, social skills, etc. It has been an ongoing battle....even up to our senate and congress. It just can't be proven either way. And the drug companies would be liable for millions of children if found guilty. I personally think they are being protected. The companies did remove the mercury from many vaccinations under pressure. There are arguments on both sides. The thought is that the child must have a weak gene to begin with that causes their immune system to be unable to fight the mercury. That's why the vaccinations don't cause these symptoms with all children. Sorry this got long...but hope it helps a little! Sad, huh!
