Bumble Bees and Blooming Bushes

The bumble bees have taken over my Spirea!
There are so many I can hear the buzzing
while I sit on the back porch!
They were so busy, they didn't seem
to mind me or my camera.

  1. Bees sometimes take over our yard to the point of being a nuisance. This year they have not!

I love all of the floral photography!

  4. Betsy, I've been hearing lately about the way that many honeybees are mysteriously disappearing, so its heartening to see that the honeybee is finding a sweet home 'Down Betsy way'. Your garden is obviously a welcome haven for them.

  5. I'm happy to hear the bees are alive and well after last year's scarcity and fear of their being hit with a fearsome virus!

    Enjoy your Sunday!

  9. Lavinia and Pat~ yes, I've heard that bees are scarce and there is a concern for the pollination. I'm not sure why we have so many....we have a lot of butterflies, too.

  10. Lora ~ these bushes are Spirea. They bloom all summer and grow like weeds. Ours have been here about 10 years and are huge!
