I'm not quite ready to give up the
ocean theme, being so recently back
from my cruise!
A few weeks ago I listed some shell
pictures and their names, which was
fun since their names fit their likeness so well.
Here's a few more that are obvious, or
hopefully they are to you!
Aren't they beautiful?
They're names are Lettered Cone,
Turritella, Angel Wings, Cameo,
Chocolate Snail, and Sundial.
Welcome Home! I love the photos of your ocean trip & the beautiful seashells...
ReplyDeleteTess ~ Thank you! And it was nice to browse through your blog and see what I missed while I was gone!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! What lyrical names these shells have! I see a new trend emerging; naming newborns after shells, instead of flowers...
ReplyDelete"Ah, meet my daughter Turritella, and my son Cameo..."
Beautiful shells... I love the wings!
ReplyDeleteLavinia ~ I can see that, too! Some are more musical than others....Cameo sounds much more like a name than Clam. ha-ha!
ReplyDeleteBPG ~ I love the wings, too! I'm sure it's more difficult to find the two together. They seem so fragile. I can't believe they stay together throughout the beating of the waves. I guess that's why it's easier to find a single wing!
ReplyDeleteBetsy...I love it when you show your shell collection...just beautiful..
ReplyDeleteBetsy, thank you for your kind words and your visit today at my blog. Isn't Lavina lovely?
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to meet you!
By the looks of your cruise photo's, a wonderful time was had by all, how fun!!!
Blessings--
I know zero about shells except that I would stop, bend over, and pick up one before I would choose a different one. I don't know what it is about shells that fascinate me but I am guessing that it is the home of a living creature or was. Our homes are pretty much the same all over the world. The shell world homes are almost all different.
ReplyDeleteI have a wildflower that I need to know the name of if you know flowers.
Knitting mania~ yes that Lavinia is a sweetie. She's so lucky to carry one of your beautiful creations! Thanks for the visit!
ReplyDeleteYes, the cruise was wonderful!
Mr. Lincoln ~ yes, shells are fascinating, aren't they! The colors and shapes are endless and I'm amazed that we haven't removed them all from the beach by now!
ReplyDeleteI went snorkling on my cruise and it was amazing to see the coral...bright and beautiful and still alive. Not sure I know much about wild flowers but I'll come over and take a look. :)
Beautiful shells! Somehow in our last move, my box of shells has disappeard and I'm so sad about that. I always displayed them every summer and I miss them. Time to head to the beach to gather more!
ReplyDeleteLora ~ Isn't that funny how a box or two is mysteriously lost during a move? It's kinda like the sock that gets lost in the laundry, never to be found! Hopefully you can go gather new shells in the near future! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shells but no idea, sorry. Ahhh... Unicorn horn?!
ReplyDeleteMmm ~ Sorry, no...but I did give you the names...you just have to guess which one goes with each picture. I think you are guessing the Turritella. :)
ReplyDeleteoh I just love the angel wings! Beautiful...there is just something special about sea shells. :)
ReplyDeleteand psst...I finally did your tag of another 7 random things! :)
"Chocolate snail" -- that is great!
ReplyDeleteCasey! Ok...great! I'll come over and read all the random things about you! ;)
ReplyDeleteMG ~ yes, isn't that funny? You would think it would be solid brown. It looks more like a chocolate ripple to me. :)
ReplyDeleteI always loved the one 2nd from bottom!
ReplyDeleteVeggiemom ~ that's the Turritella! Yes, it's really neat, isn't it?
