I saw a quote on Knitting Mania yesterday that
I just loved. And I hope Ms. Mania doesn't mind
me copying it here....
"God isn't going to let you see the distant scene.
So you might as well quit looking for it.
He promises a Lamp unto our feet, not a crystal ball into the future.
We do not need to know what will happen tomorrow.
We only need to know he LEADS."
--Max Lucado--
What a great reminder to me in how I need to trust God
with my future and the future of my family!
"You will keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you.
Trust in the Lord forever,
For in You , the Lord, is everlasting strength."
Isaiah 26:3-4
And, something I've been contemplating the past few days that goes hand in hand with that... He gives us the grace we need for today's trials. That measure of grace is for today, not for yesterday's troubles that we stew about and can't change or tomorrow's problems that may or may not arise, but for today! Just like the manna that He provided for the Israelites on a daily basis, so do we have to trust Him each day for the measure of grace that we'll need for that day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! God speaks in echoes doesn't He?!
MG ~ that goes perfectly with this. And stewing about yesterday's troubles is something I struggle with! Thanks so much for sharing! Yes, I often feel God does echoe things to us...just for added emphasis!
ReplyDeleteAmen.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this bit of encouragement.

Isn't it wonderful to be able to lean on the Lord, no matter how heavily? I think, somedays, I'm not just leaning on Him --- but He is fully carrying me !
ReplyDeleteI think I need to print out that quote as an encouraging reminder for us right now. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLavinia ~ yes, that is so true!
ReplyDeleteJen ~ yes, I will agree with all you have going on right now that it would be a great reminder....one day at a time!
ReplyDeleteFound you though Michelle O'Neil's blog. What a great quote. Reminds me of a Ray Boltz song.
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny! Well, I just introduced myself to Michelle last evening! Thanks for the visit ~ I'll come over and see you, too!
