My friend, Sharie, and I got home over the weekend from our Caribbean cruise. We had a great time!
Here's a few pictures of the trip.....Our ship....
The view from my favorite deck chair.....
Our favorite casual breakfast spot......
The beach at Progreso, Yukatan.
Could the sky be any bluer??
Me, left, and Sharie in the formal dining room.....
Out snorkeling and looking back at our catamaran....
On the beach in Cozumel, Mexico after snorkeling.... Yes, the water really does look emerald, then
turquoise, then sapphire in stripes just like the picture!
Just a little afternoon snack......
And those infamous towel animals waiting on our beds each night along with chocolates on the pillows.
Thanks to our husbands for holding down the forts!
They did just fine.... but were really glad to see us! :)
Wow! What colours - the sun, the sea, the sand, and you two gorgeous girls. Welcome back - glad you had such a great time. Love the shades on the towel swan. Hee hee.
ReplyDeleteThanks BPG ~ yes, the colors are breathtaking! I never tired of staring at the sky and water...trying to soak up as much memory as I could! :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a wonderful time! Amazing pictures! Do you have a tan? Did you find any shells for your collection?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy settling in at home. I love coming home.
Modgirl ~ Oh, I love coming home, too! I just couldn't wait for that plane to land....and I love feeling that way, too...excited to get back to the humdrum and normal routine. :) Yes, I do have quite a dark tan...even with spf 30 on my whole body the whole time! But no burn, so that's good! No shells....there were lots and lots of little clam shells on the beach but I was content to leave them there. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures and so glad you guys enjoy a time of refreshing. You deserve a break! Welcome back to our cooler weather.
ReplyDeleteI know it must have been amazing, the swan looks divine! Tell us more about the wonderful food, that is always such a treat. Isn't it funny how rountine is so welcome, when you are refreshed!
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures Besty! So glad you enjoyed your break..It helps to get a battery recharge like this, doesn't it? I'll bet you were sorely missed by your Five Men....The swan dessert looks like this great dessert called a "Nonesuch kiss" that they serve at a local restaurant here called The Glitz...I love the towel animals-They're so funny..Did you stop in New Orleans this time?
ReplyDeleteMarcia ~ thanks! It is so much cooler here...about 30 degrees! I'm freezing today and I know it's just because I got used to the 90 degree weather! But it's good to be home, too!
ReplyDeleteKim ~ yes, it is funny how that works! I was happy to do laundry today and grocery shopping. I even found myself humming in the store. :) Everybody needs a little break now and then! The food was really good! I had the best lobster I had ever eaten! A really good filet mignon, Mahi Mahi, and a chilled strawberry bisque that was wonderful. And of course the desserts were great....I especially love the presentation and attention to detail that makes the food beautiful before you even take a bite. And not cooking or doing the dishes? ....the best! :)
ReplyDeleteRebecca ~ yes, those towel animals are a hoot! We found ourselves wondering what the next one would be as we walked to our room at night. We did port in New Orleans but our flight schedule didn't allow us to do anything there. Too bad, since we had such a wonderful time in New Orleans the last time! What a cute name for the swan dessert!
ReplyDeleteThat fourth shot is stunning.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for the visit and the lovely comment.
David ~ it is stunning, isn't it! I think it would add a year to your life to be able to gaze at that view every day!
ReplyDeleteWow, that looks so awesome! I would love to go on a cruise like that! I bet you were just in heaven! How did the boys do without you?
ReplyDeleteHi Bobbi! ~ you'll have to save up and go sometime! It's incredible. It takes my girl friend and I a couple of years to save for it but it's worth it!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's actually not as expensive as your would imagine! The boys did fine, but their dad is great and always has been hands-on, so I left without worries! He was ready to be done being the mom by the end of the week, though! ha-ha!
Oh a cruise sounds great to me...I've never been on one but from what I hear they sound fantastic! :) Looks like you had a fabulous time!
