Anticipating Spring Gardening

Just a few spring-like days and I'm already
thinking about getting out in my garden.
It's really a little early, but one fun thing
I did already was get my inside tools replenished!
I made sure my little kitchen-side dish was full of
the necessary nail brushes, soaps and cream!
A few pretty rocks in the bottom make the
perfect drain dish.
And I made sure I had plenty of liquid soap in my favorite old fish bottle! The rule of thumb here in Ohio is that you don't plant anything until after Mother's Day! So a little waiting left to do. But I could plot out my veggie rows on paper! That will be my next task!

  2. I've never made a garden, although the idea of one sounds so appealing! I think it would be fun to do with the kiddos. What kind of things are good for beginner gardeners?

  5. Thanks, BP ~ I'll share as I go along!

Lora ~ It's very fun and I think you little kids would like it! Strawberries are great and they spread and return yearly. Some other things that grow easily are carrots, cherry tomatoes and a mix of leaf lettuce. The strawberries and tomatoes I do from small plants you purchase at a garden center, but the carrots and lettuce grows great right from seed! Let me know if you plant anything! :)

Willow! ~ just a few more weeks!

Casey ~~thanks for visiting! I'll check back with you, too! :)

  6. Of course I watched the race! I agree. He was sooooo close!! But, I'll take the 2nd place that now gets him up in the top 12 for the chase. It was exciting there at the end wasn't it?
