Merry, Merry!

I snapped these photos today from my kitchen desk
and they were just too cute not to share!

I immediately thought of the Henry David Thoreau quote,

"I once had a sparrow alight upon my shoulder for a
moment, while I was hoeing in a village garden,
and I felt that I was more distinguished by that
circumstance than I should have been by any
epaulet I could have worn."

I hope you are enjoying the Christmas season
and the last few days of 2017!  Sending love
and good wishes to all my blog friends!

The big kids were here for several days and left yesterday, so we are just
enjoying the aftermath of leftovers and days of vacation. We need to catch up.
      I owe you a call...haven't forgotten. :)

  5. Hi Betsy - good to see you ... and so glad the big kids were with you and you're now luxuriating a little as you unwind before 2018 comes full on at us! Love the sculpture - and the way you nurture her and give her life ... have a very happy rest of the year and all the best to you and the family for 2018 - cheers Hilary

  13. They are cute photos. Whenever one of us is in the kitchen and we see the birds come (the last one was a woodpecker), we call out "Come and see!"). It never gets old watching the birds!
So glad the big kids could be with you.

  18. I fell in love with this shot when I saw it on face book. For the first time, as I am typing this I see a little bird making a nest in a pine tree outside our upstairs apartment window. I'm so excited. I hope I can get a picture, as she just flew away. Happy New Year.
