Mid Century White Matte Pottery

My spring cleaning project for this week was to
wash this pottery and give the shelves a fresh coat
of paint.  And I gathered a few more pieces from
around the house so they would all be together!
The more the merrier, right?
I picked up the leaf shaped plate at an estate sale
this week and it's the finishing touch!
The shelves used to be white and I'm liking the flat
black much better!  These shelves are above
my washer and dryer.  They make doing laundry
just a little bit more fun!

  2. Very pretty...and I do like the black shelves because they seem to make the pottery really stand out. Just curious about something because I'm new to all of this. Why does the white have a yellow tinge to it? Is it from a glaze that was applied or is it from the materials that were used in making it? All of your pieces are gorgeous, Betsy. Gives you something beautiful to view while you are turning those socks outside in. ,)

    1. Well, it's all called white but really it's can be anything from a butter color to beige. It was made that way. It hasn't discolored or yellowed. There are some bright white pieces with a high gloss finish. I have a few pieces but don't have them displayed with this shade. They actually look better with my old ironstone!

    3. It's fun, isn't it? I was just thinking that I collect the green pottery and the variation in shades is wide, too....there's the light blue-green, the dark emerald green and everything in between!

    Can't be beat
The black really makes them shine through
But got one question for you
Do you have any wall space remaining?
Such room with all your collections must be draining lol

    1. Trying to keep my collections under control
as many things through my house roll.
Many end up going to the shop
as some of my collections I crop. :)

    1. I totally agree. My first experience with that was when we painted all of our interior doors
black. It completely changed the look of our home...in a good way!
