This boy has been seen a few times in our yard this week.
He's obviously homeless....not neutered, thin, scraggly, etc.
He could pass for Slate and Smoke's brother, couldn't he?
Funny thing, we saw Slate outside doing this funny
playful dance at him, like he was so excited to see him
and was trying to be friendly and charming. Hilarious!
I'm not really looking to take in another kitty but I'd
certainly not hesitate to trap him and get him neutered.
Everyone seems friendly to him and they have the instincts
to know. There have been male feral cats come into the
yard and ours just freak out. They are not welcome at all!
I just assume they know who is friendly and who is trouble.
They befriended Slate this same way! So, I don't make the
adoption choices...they do! I'm going to refrain from
feeding him just yet....or naming him. haha.
The Mister seems more excited than me, believe it or
not. He's been out there calling to him and being friendly.
I've just been watching from the window. Kind of amusing. :)
♥
Aw...he does look confused. I hope things work out for him.
ReplyDeleteI knocked on the window and he did look at me! I think he has a sweet face.
Deletepoor dear, Im sure someone of the cats invited him lol
ReplyDeleteYes, they are usually the culprits! haha.
DeleteIt will be fun to see how this saga plays out. Probably looking for his biological brothers..HaHa I think the Mister is softer than he looks...tee hee.
ReplyDeleteOh that mister! Back when I first took the first litter in and cared for them, I asked which ones we should give away and he said "None!" haha....
DeleteIt's interesting how the other cats respond. We'll see what happens!
ReplyDeleteYes...some get approved and some do not! haha.
DeleteThe Mister is an ok guy. You both have big hearts. I can kind of guess how this story progresses. I am looking forward to seeing it from your kitchen window!
ReplyDeleteYou just never know. I've fallen in love with some and got them spayed/neutered and thought they would stay only to have them disappear. Guarding my heart this time....
DeleteWhen you get them 'fixed' there is a benefit to your whole community. People and cats. Whether they stay or move on. I sure understand the guarding your heart.
DeleteI'm sure I have said it before- the local cats looking for help know where you live.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there's word underground that stray cats are welcome here. haha.
DeleteHi Betsy - how interesting to read .. that their instincts kick in - nature is amazing. Your mister has taken on your early mantle! Let's see what the weekend holds ... enjoy yourselves ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteyes...let's see if he shows up today. :)
DeleteAw, I love grey kitties. He looks like he could become a regular. I like the fact that Slate danced for him. Too cute! Are we sure he is a he?
ReplyDeleteI love the gray ones, too...and he's that perfect shade like the other two!
DeleteYes, he is a male for sure and not neutered. He's big and muscular but thin and
scrawny at the same time. I love his face....he has that sweet look about him.
He does indeed have that sweet look. Reminds me of when Slate first came. And my, how Slate morphed! Hope this fella stays.
DeleteMaybe he is family to them??
ReplyDeleteHe could certainly share a father! I'm sure all the ferals around here are related in some way.
DeleteThey sure make the choice in the end
ReplyDeleteAs some can clearly offend
Others they know will make a great part
So they take them to heart
Looks like another may stay
As around they all play haha
Will be fun to see
Deleteif he takes the plunge at our sea
and adopts us all,
succumbing to the rules I call.
He's heard of your famous hospitality and a happy band of cats . . :)
ReplyDeleteI think you're right!
DeleteHe looks like he could be very handsome if he had a nice home and plenty of food :-)
ReplyDeleteYes! I don't know if you remember Slate's before and after pics of his
Deletehealthy transformation. It's always fun to see!
Nice story about how the other cats seem to embrace him.
ReplyDeleteKeep us posted!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Didn't see him today!
DeleteSounds like he's heard a whisper about Betsy's menagerie...
ReplyDeleteYes, it does! Must have been a good whisper! haha.
DeleteAhhhhh!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, don't freak out just yet. We didn't see him all weekend! haha.
