For a while now we've needed a spot near the inside
garage door for The Mister to throw his keys and wallet.
He also needed a designated area to charge his iPad
and cell phone! When the parakeets died a couple of
months ago, I knew I wanted to turn that corner
into a spot to meet those needs.
This is in our family room and there is a door beside the
staircase that leads out to the garage.
And this is also where the chalk board ended up!
The table came yesterday and I had fun putting it together
and lugging it to the back of the house. haha.
The bamboo charging station came from ebay.
It has a well in the bottom to house all the cords.
The lamp and table are from overstock.com.
Now.....what to do with the bird cage!
It's big, beautiful and on it's own stand.
If I had a spot for it or a creative way to use it,
I would be more likely to keep it.
So whether it stays or goes is still to be decided!
For now, I'm loving the way this corner turned out!
It's another check on my resolution of 'a place for
everything and everything in its place'. Yay.
♥
Love it! You are so clever.
ReplyDeleteHopefully it will help him not forget his phone in the morning, too! haha....
Delete😀!!!
DeletePut a chandlier in the bird cage
ReplyDeleteIt's wide but kind of narrow.

What a smart idea. And just think you can leave messages for The Mister on the black board that he can't miss...HaHa.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very good idea! Something like, "Don't forget to come home!" haha...
DeleteOh that's funny. HaHa
DeleteThat's such a pretty spot! Don't you love that it's pretty and functional?
ReplyDeleteCould you put the bird cage outside with plants in it this summer?
I've seen that idea! I started looking on Pinterest, so we'll see!
DeleteIt's perfect! I love that spot for the chalkboard too.
ReplyDeleteI like it, too! On to the next project!
DeleteGreat little spot. Looks sleek. Love the lamp!
ReplyDeleteI had a huge birdcage on my balcony and I had various plants and vines wrapped around the metal bits. Was quite fun.
Also for a couple years I had it inside with different candles in it and used it like a mini-fireplace.
I have noticed my style has leaned to a more sleek, clean look. Definitely can't say minimal because I like "stuff" too much...lol. But I do like my furniture surfaces open and tidy....looks put together and easy to dust!
DeleteI just pinned those bird cage ideas on a board....plants and candles!
I was going to say the same thing!
DeleteOr...on your patio in the Summer...
Great job Betsy!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Hi Betsy - that was efficiently organised ... and looks charming - now I wait to see the different chalked messages you put up ... I'm sure you'll find a place for the bird cage ... happy weekend with the new charger in situ ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteYes...I need a message up there!
DeleteVery resourceful, Betsy . . . :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I try! :)
DeleteYou are without even trying . . . :)
DeleteThe perfect spot it seems indeed
ReplyDeleteA place for all is a win at any feed
I hope he doesn't see it as a trunk...
Deletea place to throw all of his junk. haha.
I love overstock!!
ReplyDeleteSo great....happy with everything we get from that site!
DeleteLooks great, Betsy!! LOVE it! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteIt feels fresh and clean!
DeleteI like that resolution and your revamped corner looks very good.
ReplyDeleteI've always admired your visions for you family and home. You see it and then you work it! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely. My first thought on the bird cage was outside on your patio (someone else mentioned that too) and then the second thought was in the guest room with plants.
ReplyDeleteYour new table looks great!
ReplyDeleteA lady that I know used a empty birdcage outside..and put birdfeed in it - to attract some birds. I saw a photo on her Instagram account that mentioned that there were some birds that tried out her "outside" birdcage. =)
