Here's what we've had for dinner lately...

  1. Baked ham and broccoli salad.
  2. Chili.
  3. Spinach and mushroom tart.
  4. Clam chowder.
  5. Fried chicken and slaw.
  6. Bacon and eggs.
What's been on your dinner plate lately?

  1. I love them all . . . shame I shall have to choose. I have a solution. You have my spare room ready so if I come for a week I can have them all . . . lol

I think the baked ham and broccili salad gets my mouth watering most . . . :)

  5. It all looks delicious! But the chili caught my attention with the purple tortilla chips. Yum!
We had tuna casserole with carrots, green bean and corn medley tonight. Yesterday it was salmon, rice pilaf, broccoli and cauliflower. Oh and strawberries & ice cream one day and brownies and ice cream another.
Love the sweet sparrow on your header!

  7. I love a good fried chicken but hardly ever get to eat it. I'm not allowed to make it myself ever since I set my house on fire when I tried to make it when I was single.

    1. Oh, that was a long time ago! I think you should be able to redeem yourself with a yummy fried chicken dinner! But...if it's delicious, your family will be wanting you to make it all the time! :)

  10. Hi Betsy - well this makes a change from other things I be-a-seeing from over there! Delicious ... I've had cauliflower cheese, the extra I made into a mince casserole ... haven't used mince since the Spring ... as you say the call of the chilli is there. I eat a lot of veggies and salad every day ... it's good to see your menus .. cheers Hilary

  14. You can't beat bacon and eggs can you? Although I like my egg white with a crispy black lace edge. Yum!

We have been eating: basic bought pizza with added tomato, salami and mozzarella, cold chicken with salads and home made garlic mayo, boiled ham with steamed new potatoes, cold ham with sauté left over potatoes, and ravioli with a tomato salsa. And probably in a little while I will have 2 minute tortellini with butter and tomato ketchup and grated parmesan instead of the veggie broth I was planning on making this evening. But that's because I have a cold and I'm tired.

    1. Yum...that all sounds very delish....especially the home made garlic mayo! You need to share your recipe! I've never made mayo before but I'm sure it's tons better than the kind we buy in a jar!

Feel better! I had a cold last week. Yuck.

    2. To be honest I use good quality bought mayo and add very finely chopped garlic. About 3 cloves of garlic to enough mayo for 2 meals for the 2 of us. I know not exactly homemade but SO much nicer than shop bought garlic mayo. I saw Nigella make it on TV one day and have never stopped making it since.

Thanks! It's not a very coldy cold but it has been making me feel quite dizzy. I think it's got into my ears.
