Kroger Click List

Earlier this month one of my nieces here in Ohio was talking
about trying out the new Kroger Click List.  This is where you do
your grocery shopping online and the next day you go pick it up!

So, last night I did my shopping online.  Since
I already have a "Kroger Card" (membership card),
they have a record of my regular purchases online.
That made it really easy to scroll through the things I
needed to buy and add them to my virtual cart.

This afternoon I went to pick up my order!
I didn't even have to get out of my Jeep!
I just drove into a designated spot, called a hotline and let
them know I was there and they brought my bags
out to me and loaded them!  I paid right there in my seat.
Amazing!

It took just 5 minutes and I was on my way today!
And I have to say, they did a great job with my order.
The bags had been stored in a refrigerated holding place
so everything was nice and cold.  They did a great job picking
out my produce and I was totally pleased with the entire process.
It saved me an hour of shopping time!
No crowds, no loading everything in the cart, no loading
on the checkout line, no waiting, no loading my Jeep!
I'm totally doing this every week!
Now where was this when I had 4 babies under 2 years old???
That would have been life changing!

  1. Oh my gosh! What a wonderful service. I would totally use it, too. I'm going to check around. Now, if they would only come home with you and unload the groceries from the car.....

    2. We have a Kroger at the beach, but not the lake. I shop at Publix up here....and, I'm going to look into it. If they don't offer it, I'm going to suggest it. I really love this idea.

    3. I've always heard great things about Publix but we don't have them!

  2. I wish we had this available in MY area (SW Georgia). I am also a caretaker for wheelchair bound person and it would be a GODSEND to order his food for him and have it put right in the car; then I would only have to unload ONCE at his home and carry it in (actually I am on the hunt for a 'folding granny cart' to use to bring his food in to his apartment. He has no family living at all and he is only 36 (and has other disabilities) - I met him while working at a non profit and sort of 'adopted him' unofficially. Anyways, this would be a godsend for ME too for my own groceries!!! But of course, we don't even have a Krogers in my area, only up near Atlanta. I want a Krogers so badly.

  4. You are way behind the times in the Colonies. I do my shopping online here, have done for years. I don't even have to pick it up, it's delivered to my door the next morning all nicely packed, fresh stuff chilled, frozen stuff in an insulated bag and my medication (Rum, whisky and wine) packed into a nice cardboard box. I have a favorites page too where all my previous purchases are shown so I can just click on them.

    1. There have been sites like this here for years...this is just something new to this particular grocery chain. Very fun! But I thought you hated the way they packaged your food! :)

Great idea . . .but we have it here at Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and other supermarkets, delivered to our houses . . but it sounds like you get better service. Great you have found a way to take some drudge out of your grocery shopping . . :) Glad the quality is great for you . . :)

  7. Damn, that would be nice
No lines or coupon nuts haggling over price
    Just pay and go
That would work for my show
Not that I get much though
As only takes me 5 mins in and out or so

    1. Less chance to catch some germs
as through the aisles you worm
Less touching of carts and things
as sneezing and coughing around you rings. lol.

    1. I had low expectations, really. I thought my produce would be not as nice
as I would have picked and my bread would be smashed. haha. But it wasn't!
It poured rain here all day long! And it was cold!
Hope you get better....ugh..that has been hanging on way too long!

  9. There is a Meijer in our area that has something similar and my daughter uses it all the time. I've done it a few times, but you have to put in your order at least 24 hours ahead of time, and you have to pick it up at a specific time, so that's hard for me. Do they charge for this at your Kroger?

    1. You have to order the day before but it doesn't have to be 24 hours. And you have an hour window to pick it up so it seems like getting it after work would work well for most. After the first three times that are free, it costs $4.95.

    2. Our started at $4.95, but it got raised to $9.95. I like the hour window too!

    3. And that's Meijer? I think that's too expensive! I'd probably go inside and do my own instead for that price.

  10. Are you particular about the fresh produce or cuts of meat? Back when I did my own grocery shopping, I always wanted to take a look at everything before deciding what I wanted to buy, but I am guessing that you are way more methodical in your shopping to begin with. Amazing all the different ways the world is changing.

    1. Yes, I'm very picky...but everything looked great...apples didn't have bruises and the veggies
were nice and fresh. I was pleasantly surprised!

  12. I have used a service here for many years called Grocery Gateway. It's a godsend as I am not mobile. They also deliver wine and liquor too. They bring it straight inside to my kitchen! So convenient and they often have coupons and free items. Don't know what I'd do without them.

    1. That is a great service...and wonderful for you! I love that they bring it into your kitchen! I'd probably faint! haha.

  13. Hi Betsy - what a great service and so good to know the produce was in good order ... no bruised apples, and the veg were fresh. Sounds great - long may it last. It's not something I'd trust here - I see too many helpers 'dumping' stuff into trolleys obviously for someone's shop ...

But wonderful if it saves you time - as you say 20 years it'd have been good to have ... take care and enjoy that coffee hour! Cheers Hilary

  14. I agree that it would have been a life saver when my kids were little!! Now days I like to go to the grocery store as I can take my time and browse.

    1. I don't mind doing that either...the browsing part. But I still feed 4 men and my cart is loaded every week. They will probably learn to dread my order. hahahaha....

  15. Wow Betsy that sounds so cool! I don't like shopping so it would def work for me. The only question was if they would chose ie. nice vegetables fruits, not some yukies :-) ... but you seemed pleased with this as well so that is a bingo! And yes, Mom's will appreciate this service for sure!!

    1. They did fine on all the fruits and veggies! Now, we will have to see if it continues to be nice! But they emailed me and wanted feedback, so it seems they are keeping on top of suggestions and complaints, too.

  16. Now if only they would carry your groceries into the house!! :~D
