Friends and Enemies

Mama Squirrel is still around.  She loves her sunflower seeds from
the bird feeder and I put some unsalted peanuts out for her, too.

Tiger gets in the tree to catch her and I can't tell if they are
really enemies.  They come toward each other instead of chasing
and almost touch noses!

Shadow, on the other hand (oh, such an appropriate name!),
is much more sneaky about it all.  I know his intentions
all too well and they are not good!

  1. HaHa! He is very camouflaged. I couldn't see him at first. Stealthy!

  2. The Naughties have no intention of making friends with little squirrels, unless it's friends with benefits. The benefit being a meal for a hungry cat or two. I'm not quite sure whether to feed the squirrels or not this time around.

    1. Yes, I was joking, of course...

If you feed the squirrels you can't just stop. They have become reliant on you. Same with birds!

    2. I fed them through the winter but haven't been feeding them this summer.
And yes, I thought you were joking.

    1. Shadow and marmalade seem to be the ones she should stay away from. I hope she knows! I love the way she looks in the windows at me. So cute. And she doesn't go too far when I put peanuts out for her. Aw. Sweet Kiki. :)

    1. Our cats seem to befriend other animals...remember Nugget? And the foxes, skunks and coons are all friendly with them.

    2. Must be the friendly nature of the occupants of your house and gardens emanating of course from the lady of the house . . :)
Yes I remember with affection, dear Nugget . . . and a lot less affection the skunks . . lol

I thinl perhaps you should have been a zoo keeper, or a circus ring master/mistress . . . lol

    1. If any cat would befriend a squirrel, it would be Tiger.
He's just that kind of animal! :)

  12. Interesting, how they interact. Orson hardly even glances at squirrels when they run around.

    1. I guess I just have a bunch of hunters here. Probably because of their feral mom teaching them how to do it.
