Mama Squirrel is still around. She loves her sunflower seeds from
the bird feeder and I put some unsalted peanuts out for her, too.
Tiger gets in the tree to catch her and I can't tell if they are
really enemies. They come toward each other instead of chasing
and almost touch noses!
Shadow, on the other hand (oh, such an appropriate name!),
is much more sneaky about it all. I know his intentions
all too well and they are not good!
♥
HaHa! He is very camouflaged. I couldn't see him at first. Stealthy!
ReplyDeleteVery stealthy! haha...he does that every day!
DeleteThe Naughties have no intention of making friends with little squirrels, unless it's friends with benefits. The benefit being a meal for a hungry cat or two. I'm not quite sure whether to feed the squirrels or not this time around.
ReplyDeleteYes, I was joking, of course...
DeleteIf you feed the squirrels you can't just stop. They have become reliant on you. Same with birds!
I fed them through the winter but haven't been feeding them this summer.
DeleteAnd yes, I thought you were joking.
:0)
They don't try to eat from your bird feeders?
DeleteOh my, Shadow has disappeared! Great pics.
ReplyDeleteCan you see his eye? Very sinister. lol.
DeleteI know... it's so perfect!
DeleteHa! I think he's trouble!
ReplyDeleteThe squirrel? She's on to the,...but boy, does she like to tease and play. I've never seen a squirrel play tag with a cat before....adorable.
DeleteLook out Mama Squirrel! Or, as Tweety might say, "I tawt I taw a puddy tat."
ReplyDeleteHaha...yes! And boy there are a lot of them to see here. Lol.
DeleteLol Shadow does look like his intention are not the most innocent ones ... hope Mama Squirrel knows all the gang well by now and that she knows with whom to kiss and whom to run away from ;-)
ReplyDeleteShadow and marmalade seem to be the ones she should stay away from. I hope she knows! I love the way she looks in the windows at me. So cute. And she doesn't go too far when I put peanuts out for her. Aw. Sweet Kiki. :)
DeleteHi Betsy - love the photos ... completely right with the story line ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteThe light was beautiful for photos....love that soft green!
DeleteOh he's just playing hide and seek and counting to 20 . . . haha
ReplyDeleteInteresting that Tiger and Mama Squirrel almost touch noses ~ looks like they are or could be friends indeed . .
Great photos . .
Our cats seem to befriend other animals...remember Nugget? And the foxes, skunks and coons are all friendly with them.
DeleteMust be the friendly nature of the occupants of your house and gardens emanating of course from the lady of the house . . :)
DeleteYes I remember with affection, dear Nugget . . . and a lot less affection the skunks . . lol
I thinl perhaps you should have been a zoo keeper, or a circus ring master/mistress . . . lol
I wasn't allowed to have pets as a child, so I think I'm just making up for lost time. haha.
DeleteAh . . . so that explains it . . . you would have been quite useful on the ark too . . . haha
Delete. . . keeping the lions and tigers in order . . . lol
Deletelol....I'm quite good at taming wild cats. :)
Deletelol . .. bet you couldn't control this tiger . . . hahaha! ;)
DeleteYou? Oh, I wouldn't even begin to try. ha.
DeleteUh oh. Good thing squirrels are smart. Don't you love to watch cats on the prowl. They are still wild at heart.
ReplyDeleteYes, they really are....it's fun to watch..and sometimes very amusing!
Deletehaha squirrels are bright
ReplyDeleteBut have to watch the cats hiding from the light
They will sure strike
Tiger looks like it is less hate more like
Tiger befriends everyone, you know.
DeleteBrings baby kittens in out of the snow. ha.
So cute...I bet they are friends.
ReplyDeleteIf any cat would befriend a squirrel, it would be Tiger.
DeleteHe's just that kind of animal! :)
Interesting, how they interact. Orson hardly even glances at squirrels when they run around.
ReplyDeleteI guess I just have a bunch of hunters here. Probably because of their feral mom teaching them how to do it.
DeleteI love your mom squirrel !!
