Ooooh, that's a convicting question. I can be both. I try to be a fountain, but sometimes I just need someone to vent to, and then I'm probably more of a drain.
I think we can all be both and have all been drains at some point. But venting isn't necessarily a drain, I don't think. Maybe it's just purging the water so you can bubble again. And someone willing to listen to your venting (as long as it's legitimate) will fill you back up if you need it. :)
Well Betsy, that is something to think on this Monday Morning. I am reading Laura Story's book, When God Doesn't Fix It and it has been very convicting, then I see your blog title and I wonder if God is telling me something!
It should speak to all of us, really. Food for thought...a great reminder. Hopefully if we have become drains we'll see the light and change. It's always good to reflect and take note...myself included!
I really hope I am a fountain and not a drain.
ReplyDeleteMe, too! I mean me...not you. haha.
DeleteSeasons maybe... Now more like a drain than a fountain. But even now I can bubble like a fountain. Always something to praise.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! :)

DeleteWell I'm a fountain first
ReplyDeleteUntil I'm about to burst
Then I grab my zipper
And drain so all stays chipper
What? Wasn't that what you meant?
Hey, it's sort of a vent.
hahahaha.....
DeleteNow that's a good question! I try to be a fountain, but there are times...
ReplyDeleteI think most of us do try, don't we? But we all have our moments...
DeleteFountain, mostly. Drain...not so often.
ReplyDeleteI can see you being a fountain. :)
DeleteJust two choices...huh?
ReplyDeleteWell I'll just sit and sip my coffee as I contemplate my answer. :)
Yeah...just two...but that's hardly fair, is it. haha.
DeleteA fountain and a cherub . . . hahaha
ReplyDeleteGreat photo . . . :)
A cherub? Please tell me you're wearing more
Deletethan a loin cloth. hahahaha....
Certainly, in winter . . . lol
Delete!
DeleteHi Betsy - a fountain or an undiscovered diamond? great photo though ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteThanks, Hilary..
DeleteGreat reminder. :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it? Food for thought...
DeleteI am mostly a fountain........but I find it all goes down drains and does not return as a fountain does. Hmmmm!
ReplyDeleteAre you saying those around you are draining? haha....I've been there before...
DeleteYou got it. I have had to stop up the drains and that's not as easy as it sounds. Sometimes when you stop up one; another one opens up. Yikes!
DeleteWell, pass along the quote/question. haha. Just keep being a fountain, Carol! Hopefully they'll get some plugs. :)

DeleteA fountain I am but sometimes a very tired fountain.
ReplyDeleteAw....me, too! Meeee, too!
DeleteMostly a fountain, I hope. But occasionally a drain. I would be suspect of someone who was always a fountain!
