The first day of Summer here is miserable. The "Picnic in the Park" yesterday to celebrate the coming of Summerwas a complete washout! Rain, rain, rain! Today was no better, although the sun came out just in time for sunset. Better late than never. How was your weather?
Our weather was hot, humid and partly sunny. Rain is so typical for you all over there. The Picnic in the Park should have been Picnic Under the Pavilion. haha. We went to an outdoor concert years ago that started out beautiful and was washed out by rain. Ugh...what a miserable experience that was. haha.
We didn't have a pavilion, but we sat in the beer tent most of the afternoon listening to the rain drumming on the canvas. The beer was nice and warm though. Ha!
Your table decorations look wonderful. It was 110 here yesterday and it is 115 out today. Even for us it is unseasonably hot. I am over summer already! Thank goodness for AC. I hope Ohio is perfect.
I do love your chalk board and your seasonal artwork. Always look forward to the next one. Your buffet looks wonderful, so simple yet so meaningful. VBS is over, I got a new hair cut, been sleeping in...and feel normal again. Ready for whatever comes next!!! Really hot here today~ AC on, and triple digits outside.
Poor start here for summer . . . . lots of rain . . although it did brighten up a bit at the end of the day. Love the chalkboard and foyer arrangement ~ very classy and interesting. . . :)
Cute, cute! I love the bowl with the flag in it. I was kind of looking for a moon photo from you. I just put up my Easter decorations last Friday. I really only decorate the china hutch, but talk about procrastination. Ha! Happy Summer!
Lovely and simple. Pretty coral on display. I am staying at a friend's as I have been having some repair issues with my condo. She does not have A/C so I have been dying. But it is so kind of her to let me stay and she's a great cook. We've been having a good visit. Seems to be cooling down a bit tonight. Fingers crossed!
Those of us that live with AC can't imagine living without it, can we! Ugh! We're spoiled! But I do so appreciate it. Hope your repairs don't take too much longer!
Hi Betsy - soaking rain - no sight of the sun, nor the special strawberry moon - still seeing your 'Welcome Summer' board cheers me up! Enjoy - our sun will appear I hop!! Hilary
Beautiful foyer display! Happy summer Betsy :-) we are still waiting for our summer to arrive ... for now it feels something between bad spring and bad autumn ... lol
Summer has officially arrived in Maine too. Lovely 80's right now and dry..........wonder how long that will last! Love your chalkboard decorations and foyer table. Always so pretty.
Catching up on my blog reading after vacation. Love your vignettes Betsy. I have a few things out for the 4th...very simple things which are the best in my opinion.

ReplyDeleteWe had a big old thunderstorm last night...no full moon for me! That happens quite often when I want to photograph a special moon! Sigh!
DeleteYou've motivated me - I need to do some changes around here for summer too. Your foyer looks great!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you do!
DeleteLovely and simple. Pretty coral on display.

ReplyDeleteWe had a good soak last evening. I'm thankful....I don't have to water the garden today!
DeleteYour foyer table is so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI changed mine too; I put a crystal pot with shells inside.
Happy summer
Oh, I've just realised we've made the same post.
DeleteI didn't mean to copy you LOL
Oh, I love that you did, too....how fun! It is the first day of summer after all! Shells just say summer!

ReplyDeleteNo rain here, but at least the humidity has gone...for now!
Enjoy your day Betsy...
Cheers!

ReplyDeleteWell, maybe if the winds are blowing your way, our weather will reach you next week! Then you'll be plenty warm!
DeleteLove it!! I love how you change it by season.
ReplyDeleteOne little table..so much easier than changing up the entire house! ha

ReplyDeleteThat sounds just about perfect! We can't really complain...low 80's and sun today. A little muggy, though...
DeleteYou make me want a chalkboard!
ReplyDeleteOh, you should get one! So much fun! Or make one...chalkboard spray paint!
