Funny name for a bird!
He was definitely not Cherokee, more your actual Apache!
This Cherokee thinks he's neither! He's a US paratrooper in WWII. :)
Is he dive bombing the squirrel?
hahaha....nope! He's diving into the spilled seed on the ground! :)
Straight into a cat ambush?
He sat on Garden Girl's bench and scouted out the area for dangerbefore diving. Smart bird!
Keith stole my thought !!! . . . lolNo he is a British Redcoat in former days of glory, just dropping in to say, "Hi!"
No...the Redcoats had no idea what "Geronimo!" was! :)
Oh . . . maybe Davy Cricket then . . . lol
Is he related to Jiminy Cricket? hahaha....
Oh goodness a double typo . . I must go to SpecSavers . . . lolDavey Crockett . . . :)
lol...Actually, I think you and Keith are misunderstanding. I'm not talking about the American Indian Geronimo. The bird is yelling it as he jumps, just like the US airmendid as they parachuted out of their planes during WWII.
Ah . . . I see.Come to think of it as kids whenever we did something rather dangerous we always yelled out Geronimo. I see it now, yes . .
OK..good. Silly men... :)
Well he is . . . . haha
Ready to grab and dashNot wanting to clashGet what caught the eyeGeronimo and away he'll fly
Nice of him to give an 'Incoming' warning.Grab the seed and continue soaring!
My goodness, what a shot!
He was moving fast! haha.
What lovely bird Betsy :)Hope you have a nice weekend !
Isn't he pretty? love the red. :) His mrs. is around, too. I hope they make a nest!
Nice one. You pushed the shutter button just at the right time.
Good of him to cooperate, don't you think? haha.
Wow - what timing. Great shot. Reminds me of Snoopy and the Red Baron. Hee hee.
haha...exactly!
Awesome shot Betsy!! LOVE.IT!!
Thank you, Marsha my friend! Are you still baking? :)
Hi Betsy - amazing diving shot - beautiful .. clever photo ... cheers Hilary
I got lucky on that one. :)
Love my birds too. We had babies in our bluebird house but they've already vacated. Hoping for more. :)Have a great weekend!
Oh that's fun! I haven't seen any nest making here yet but I'm sure it's started!
I had to come over to see who was jumping out of what? Sure had me dumbfounded until I got here and realized that it was a pretty Red Cardinal.
Haha...yep...he's diving into the spilled seed on the ground. Perfect form, too, wouldn't you say?
Amazing colours!! Happy Saturday Betsy,
Aren't they pretty? So bright and cheerful.
Great shot!
Thanks, Silver! :)
