Run, Run Away And Never Look Back

"A little voice inside my head said,
Don't look back. You can never look back."

Boys of Summer
Don Henley

I love this shot I got of my little squirrel, airborne on the roof.
He's a fiesty little thing and makes me laugh.
And today, he reminds me of me...running away
and never looking back.
I quit my auction job today.
It's all good!  Needed to be done.
I already have plans to attend the auctions as a
bidder with one of my coworkers (who also quit!)
and continue our online businesses.
All the fun without the work.
Unless we bid against each other! lol....
You just need to do what's best for you, right?
And this is best...and right!

  1. One of my favourite songs! And a great shot.
Yes of course I know that VS is a US company. But in the early 90s I bought some brilliant bras from "Victorias Secret of London" when
I was in Buffalo. Could I get more in London? Nope. No branches in the UK. We have branches in the UK now but natch they no longer make that wonderful design of bra. Typical.

    1. No, you could not get more London! :)

    2. Shame about the great bra though. It had wonderfully broad satin straps.
That squirrel is going bounce bounce bounce isn't it?

    3. lol....bounce, bounce? Speaking of bras....lol...

    4. Yes... one reason I could never fancy running or jogging. New ketchup crispy snack coming soon.

    5. I'm totally with you on the jogging! haha....def not for my body. The satin straps on that one sound wonderful. Too bad they don't bring the style back! I'd buy one!

I need to look for a ketchup chip for my Alex...haven't seen them here, though!

  5. Less pressure, more fun.
    Never look back.
Love the action shot. I must learn to capture action without the blur.

    2. Yes, I can do that. (If I remember.)

    1. Some changes were underfoot that didn't settle well with any of us. Some requests were turned down and there would have eventually been some workman comp claims because of it. lol..... In the end several of us left. I don't think anyone is regretting it. It will all work out for the better.

    2. Yeah, I did love my job for the most part. But going as a bidder
still lets me enjoy most of those things. Sometimes your world has to shake
before you realize how much you are appreciated...or not. In the end
      it is all good.

  9. I love auctions. Hubby and I go and we sell things on Ebay. Don't make a lot but it's a great way to get and education about so many different things by doing research on what you thought was so cool you just had to buy it. Have fun with it! Sometimes we lose everything on an item and actually pay someone to take it away in the end because we can't sell it even to make back what we paid for it, but other times we make out like bandits. It's great! Lots of luck!

    1. Well, good for you. I do the same but sell in my etsy store.
Some things I put on ebay, but not many. It's an adventure,
isn't it? And you learn a lot!

    1. So you've given up plodding around rain sodden-muddy fields in your pink wellies have you? I thought you enjoyed that sort of pastime!

    2. Yes, Marmalade was after him. But he provoked it! So fun. He is a brave little thing!

I did enjoy it as part of the whole package. But I don't think I'll miss the horrid weather
when the auctions are outside! I have enough crazy stories to last.

    3. I think he will soon be an ex-squirrel. Shame.

    4. He is much too quick in the trees than the cats..although they do try!

You'll have more time to buy at the auction now, so surely that's a good thing...lol

  14. Good for you for moving on in 2016 with a bold new plan, job wise. Your squirrel who looks like he is flying, is a good role model for us.

  15. haha look at him go
    flying to and fro
    Or just flying away

when things aren't right and bad things grow!
      Leave yourself a little dignity
so you can still fly when you flee!
      haha.

  18. It almost sounds like it comes from "Proverbs" HaHa. Very good advice, and how exciting to begin a new year with some things gone...and never look back, and new things in the future.

That airborne shot is just out of this world. Love the white on his tail.

    1. Exactly...good words to remember. We are moving forward, not backward!
Even good things can end up souring and you might not want to change at first
but then you can see how much better then future will be if you
take that first step! Makes you laugh at
how you dug in your heels at first. lol...

I have more to share about that squirrel...He's really a character!

  19. Good for you for doing what was right! When those times come....you just know. That was a great capture of your squirrel...it reminds me of the ones that run across the beach house. They sound like a herd of cows running around up there. Their favorite hickory nut tree is at the corner of the porch, so they are in and out of it. Lol!

    1. Yeah, they are hard because you want to hold on to the best things about it, but then
when things become clear you see the balance is leaning you to do something else.
Today was a huge confirmation that I made the right decision. Kind of a hard lesson,
but it's all good now! Whew! I'm not really big on huge life changes. haha. Let me re-
arrange furniture or some other little change and I'm ok with that. lol...

  21. Lol, what a great picture of Cyril, the squirrel! It looks like he got frightened, maybe one of the cats was after him? He sure is fun! :-)
Good for you that you quit when you felt things were not right. I find the hardest is often to even take that right decision. Once you do it is a great feeling though isn't it?

    5. Hmm...well, I wouldn't do anything. Remember when they said they were going to do away with the follower's list? Lots of bloggers deleted all their followers on their sidebar and then they didn't do it! Then they said the reader's list would go and people switched to other things like bloglovin, etc and we can still use our lists on our sidebars! I'd just wait and see.
