    2. Maybe . . . ha

Here in UK January is known as the most depressing month of the year. It really affects a lot of people because it is dark, cold, wet and windy . . . uggh!

    3. Sounds like you need to take vitamin D3, too!

    4. Good idea . . . but rather have the sun . . . I am taking multi vitamins daily which helps a bit . . . :)

    5. It has to be 2000 IU's of it daily. You should try it....doctor's orders! At least our doctor and many US doctors.

  4. Yeah, we got some snow here, too. Nothing much to speak of. And it's pretty cold here too, right about now.

  7. It feels cold enough to snow, but nary a flake :)
You'll need to put a coat on your garden girl, surely she's shivering by now !
Love her head garland, makes me think of spring.

    1. I'd rather be cold than hot....you can always bundle up or drink something hot.
When it's hot, there are only so many layers you can take off! haha....besides,
I get cranky when I'm hot. lol....

    2. I feel like a weigh a ton too...The holidays did jump on my hips. Don and I are really trying to eat healthy. Let's see if I am still excited about it in a couple months...haha. My 75th birthday is May...and they are planning a big party. I really want to look my best, so that a pretty good motivation.
      Hugs.

    3. I think celery and water is appealing to all of us this time of year! I've been eating fattening stuff since Thanksgiving! haha....

A big birthday party is great motivation....and far enough away to make it work! You already look wonderful....but I know what you mean...it's how you feel, really!

  15. Yay, you got some snow! I'm jealous. It finally got cold here. Cold for us is in the 40's and it's a damp cold with wind. The worst kind.

    1. We got a tiny bit! The ground was covered when we woke up but most of it left with some sunshine later on. Sure was pretty coming down, though!

I hate that cold damp wind....bone chilling! Hope you either warm up or get some snow to make the cold worth it! haha.

  16. I love GG's wreath. It sort of looks like she's always had it. Very becoming!
I was praying for sun and we finally got it - birthday present to me! But oh so c-c-c-cold today.
Spent a lovely lunch and afternoon with dear friends, then ordered in some delicious Chinese food for dinner. Was a great 60th!
I am soul searching too and sometimes it feels exhilarating and other times terrifying. But I think it's a worthwhile endeavour and I hope it will yield some interesting results.

    1. That wreath does suit her, doesn't it?
I'm glad you had a nice birthday ...and even sunshine! It's clear and cold here again...13F this morning!
I'm glad you understand the soul searching! I think it's healthy once in a while to stop, consider your life...know where you've been and where you're going. Several people freaked out when I said that I was doing that. haha...

    2. Yes, some people get a little uncomfortable at the thought. I see it no differently than examining your health, your body, nutrition, etc. But it does make other people nervous. And it's not even them that's doing the introspection. Maybe they think we're going to soul-search them out of our lives or something. Very curious.

    3. Yes, indeed! In fact, I've been swamped with emails and comments about it! I think I've decided to not put anything on my blog. I thought it would be therapeutic for me but handling the readers will not be a stress relief that I was hoping the posting would be, if that makes sense. So, the search for releasing the stress in a good way continues. haha. I know you know some of my unbelievable stress from a dysfunctional family....I thought if I put it all in words, I'd stop that teeth grinding! lol....

    4. Yes, I understand. Well, I think it is important to write it down as that is a release in and of itself. I always benefit from writing as it starts to solidify my thoughts and I'm sometimes surprised at what surfaces.
It's up to you, of course, if you then decide to share it or not. You have some wonderfully supportive readers. But it is an open invitation, then, for comments, advice, etc. Which is fine and you may find healing in that. But I have watched it go the other way as well, so you have to be the judge and do what you feel your gut tells you to do. I always say heart and mind are fine... but I truly believe in one's gut.
Also, the nature of the internet, of course, is that once it's out there... it's out there! :-)
I believe soul searching is healthy and necessary and whether you choose to share your process or not, I'm all for the pursuit. And, as you know, I'm here if you want to chat or bounce things around. xox

    5. Yes..you get it exactly. The writing can be great...and the support of readers, too. But the initial reaction hasn't been positive and it's created doubts I can't seem to shake. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to begin with. And yes...once it's out there it's everywhere. haha.

  17. Hi Betsy - she really is lovely to see ... and the wreath works so well on her. I love that Sara Coleridge poem ... I wrote out the Flanders and Swann version ... and added Sara's more genteel version afterwards for my first post last year ... Wonderful ... it's so good to remember these poems ... cheers Hilary
