Back To Business

Marmalade at dusk.

Well, the end of the Christmas break is here.
I kind of went MIA, didn't I?
I've been spending more time on the couch than I have
spent in blog land, that is for sure!
  I've relished the week between
Christmas and New Years since there wasn't anything
on the schedule for any of us!  I've filled out a new calendar,
made a few annual lists, done some soul searching,
and made a few resolutions...you know, what all
crazy OCD list-making people do at the beginning of
a beautiful, fresh new year! haha.
More on my favorite thing of the Christmas season
and the soul searching in days to come.
The boys have an extra day off tomorrow so I can
take them all to the dentist for a 3-month check up.
That's one crazy way to start off the week! haha.
I'm very optimistic about this new year.
I hope it's a wonderful one for all of us!

      traumatic on everyone! haha...

  2. I think I am finally coming to the end of the col, cough and crud. That has kept me on the couch too.
2016 will be a good year, full of family...spur of the moment fun times and being more selective in things that occupy my precious time.
I'm so glad it's been a good, contemplative time for you and praying all goes well with the boys at the dentist.

    1. So sorry you've been sick! We've had holidays like that! No fun!
Had to laugh at planning spur of the moment fun times....haha...but I know what you mean.
      Hope your year is fabulous!

  4. Here's hoping you have a fabulous 2016. Of course, a lot of it is going to depend on what YOU make of it. But you knew that!

better at accepting things that are out of my control, you know? :)

  7. Well, once again, we have something in common. OCD, list making, soul searching, calendar filling in...all of it. Lol!! The only thing I don't do is make NY's resolutions. I used to and wouldn't keep after them. So now, I set goals. I figure not reaching a goal might be a tad better than breaking a resolution. Ha! I have had lots of family time over the holidays and haven't actually gotten around to my annual plans and goals just yet, but I will be working on that in the next 2-3 weeks. That's what I do in January. Wishing the boys a good check-up at the dentist. Talk soon!

    1. I think my resolutions are more like goals, too....I just call them resolutions. And I think it's all in how you word it. If you say "I will run 2 miles every day", you're setting yourself up to fail. "I will run more than last year" is more open and doable and still a good thing to strive for.

    2. So true! Oh wait, I have a rooster almost exactly like yours, too. As soon as I get back to the lake, I'll take a picture of it. Lol!!

  8. I think your week was a perfect way to spend it. Ours was very active as our kids seem to now is the time to spend more quality time with us, and I can't argue. I love that they call and want to do things with us and invite us to do things with them.

I really love what you put on facebook about the generation of women, and what we need to get back too.

Happy New Year....looking forward to it myself.

  10. Love Marmalade at dusk. There's something about his orange and white with the various blues in the room that is so beautiful and restful.
I don't do lists, resolutions, goals, etc., but I do engage in soul searching and particularly this New Year as I lost a very dear friend yesterday. Serves to remind us of what is important and precious in life and, I think, helps us focus on the bigger picture.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful year and experience all the joys of a life well lived.
    Much love to you. xxooxx

  12. Fingers crossed that the dental visit goes easily and no need to work on the teeth! Marmelade is so beautiful sitting in the dusk light.
The school starts for us onThursday only and I can hardly imagine how I will manage to wake up at 5.15 am again .... right now that feels like a torture ... Lol. I cannot wait to hear about your Soul searching. It has been very retrospective time for me lately too and after maybe 15 years or more I came with some new year resolutions as well. But not in the typical sense of loosing weight etc. Rather on the internal side of me :-) happy days!

    1. Yes, me, too...on the internal side. Thinking of my emotional health a lot lately. I'm up early for the first time....it wasn't too bad....cup of coffee right away, of course.....haha

  13. Sometimes you really confuse me. "I kind of went MIA"? It says in the instruction book for my cellphone that I have MIA installed (Mobile Internet Access). You mean you used your mobile to go on the Net instead of your komputer?

My bank statement lists the category of each entry with a three letter code, i.e, OCD = Onsite Cheque Deposit, similar to BTR (Bank Transfer from one account to another) Did you mean COD? (Compulsive Obsessive Disorder)

For years I thought LOL meant 'Lots Of Love' and wondered why some bloggers I hardly knew, including Eddie, sent me lots of love, so I tended to avoid them whenever possible It wasn't until about 4 years ago I found out it meant 'Lots of Laughter' (I hope that's right!)

IMGN and get some shopping done. HBIL! See how confusing it gets?

    1. lol . . . . . it really means "laughed out loud" . . . . . but we love you lots as well, Keith . . . :)

      Delete
    2. Yes, Eddie beat me to it....laugh out loud...but somehow I think you knew that already, Keith.

COD here means 'cash on delivery'. haha...don't worry, I didn't send your gift COD. And for OCD, we have our obsessiveness listed before our compulsiveness....not to be confused with impulsiveness, which I am not. ha.

HBIL? He Burst Into Laughter? How 'Bout I Leave? Hearty Bowl of Instant Lentils? hahaha....

    3. When you sent me LOL I thought "Yes! Betsy loves me, I've scored!" Then my hopes and dreams were shot down in flames when someone explained me what LOL really meant and I realised you were laughing at me. . . .*sob*. No, don't try to console me, I'm off into the garden to eat worms. . . again.

IMGN= I must go now. 'How Bout I Leave?' before you set the cats on me. . . . .

    4. You know I love you. :) Now...what does HBIL mean?

  15. So you were hiding away
    There at your bay
Lying on the couch at your sea
    I wasn't a busy bee
    Lounged about too
Watched more movies than a few
Now back on task with rhyme
    2016 won't be a crime?
    That we shall see
    What comes to be
    Hopefully it is grand
Maybe another 10 cats will join your land lol

      Movies were watched here, too,
and a marathon of a show or two.
Never put up my feet so much.
      Really enjoyed it a bunch.
      Back to reality this morning
as there was no late hour snoring!
