It's been a little grey around here, lately!
Windy, rainy, warm and then chilly!
When the rain stops, the birds and squirrel come out to dine!
The grey has made everything inside seem cozy and quiet.
And I don't mind, of course, ...it is my favorite color!
And it's going to get cold enough to snow!
Another favorite!
♥
Who would think grey could be such a pretty color. Beautiful photos of things grey! Cheer up..soon the sun will shine again:)
ReplyDeleteCheer up? lol....I love grey, remember?
DeleteOh right, you did say that:) I like it too but not as much in grey skies:)
DeleteWe sure have had a lot of grey skies lately! Some brilliant spots of sun but then the clouds roll in!
DeleteSabrina told me our gray squirrel was hanging upside down yesterday. But I was gone to work and missed it.
ReplyDeleteLove your fence photo with the bright spot.
:0)
Lots of wind blowing things things around!
DeleteLove the tree of sparrows.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm the only one feeding birds and the word is out!
DeleteYes . . . I was going to say that I remember grey as your favourite colour.
ReplyDeleteIt's a grey day here too and raining yet again . . . . I'm thinking of building an ark . . lol
Love your shot of the squirrel and the birds . . .
You know I think I would prefer snow to this constant rain . . . . there, I bet you never thought you'd hear me say that . . . lol
I never thought I'd hear you say that!
DeleteWet again today . . . yes I do think I'd rather have the snow IF I am well wrapped up . . . :)
DeleteHope your day is a lovely one . . .
Just off to see Jon and family . . . :)
We're dark, dark grey...no snow or rain but plenty of clouds!
DeleteMy days have been lovely....quiet, restful....very nice.
Missing every accustomed post
DeleteBecause you are a lovely host
Perhaps when you are fully rested
Your writing and photos will be invested
On your interesting blog
Which attracts followers, all agog
Here's to you for this New Year
May it bring you lots of cheer
And every wish for your good health
And love and blessings and great wealth
Not just for you at your den
But for both ladies and all your five men . . . . . . . . :) x
I love the colour but I am tired of the neverending grey here. It is dark all day. Praying for a splash of sun soon. I have been thinking of buying a S.A.D. light to help. Although looking at Mr.-Upside-Down-Squirrel is making me smile!
ReplyDeleteThe Mister gets SAD....our doc said to take Vitamin D3 for it and it has really helped him!
DeleteWe're supposed to get sun next week, so I bet you will too! In the meantime, we are sleeping late
with all this darkness....it's good for that, anyway! haha...
I do take Vitamin D3 and I think it does make a difference. I have several friends who swear by the SAD lamp so I may buy one... or borrow theirs! Maybe I need a trip down south. :-)
DeleteIf you're taking a trip south, I'm coming along!
DeletePlease do - we'd have a blast!
DeleteWouldn't we? Let's go! haha..
DeleteGray here too. Oh well...tis the season! lol I love that picture of the upside down squirrel!
ReplyDeleteIsn't he cute? And I noticed he has a red racing stripe. lol....
DeleteAll white here
ReplyDeleteUggg to that I fear
Rather take the grey
That is one acrobatic squirrel by the way
I bet you were jumping up and down
Deleteand making snowmen all around town!
Oh, wait, that wasn't you with a bellow
"Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!" lol.
lol not a chance
DeleteIt got a hateful glance
More than I glance I would surmise!
DeleteA few curse words wouldn't me surprise!
Wow! When the birds come out, they come out in droves. You must be the only diner in the neighborhood. Loved all your photos. Grey looks rather nice at your place. It's been grey here, too. We've had rain for two days, more flooding and there's still more to come. Hopefully, since the rain is not statewide, there won't be the problems we had back in November. Sure wish it would snow here. Can't wait to see what you get.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we're supposed to get any accumulation, but I would love it!
DeleteGood to hear you aren't expecting the flooding like before....nobody wants to see that, I'm sure!
My little feeders must be the only ones in the neighborhood! Craziness out there! haha....
It's been gray here too, now it's white and gray with a good dose of brown. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!
Lucky you with the snow!
DeleteWish I could share our sun with you today. Temps never got above 45F but there was sunshine. We do need a lot more gray and rain for the 4 year drought to be over but i do like the sunshine.
ReplyDeleteSaw the first woodpecker here in years but he flew away before I could get my camera going.
Love your sparrow buffet too.
We have a woodpecker this year, too! I have yet to get a picture of him in focus!
DeleteYour photo's featuring gray are marvelous.
ReplyDeleteI do remember you loving gray! When you were doing some painting and redecorating. I like it too, but can't paint the walls in the apartment. I do have a gray and taupe couch and love seat, and a picture with grays above the couch. I remember all those years I was in property management.....basic color for every apartment...Kelly Moore Frost.
Grey walls would be a welcome change in real estate....here it's all called Builder's Beige. Lol....
DeleteHi Betsy - we have some sun here ... and I love sitting in the window with it beaming in when I work. I'm not so keen on grey - but totally appreciate your understanding of the colour and how it works for you. It's been bucketing here in the UK, not here thankfully, but the weather extremes are 'interesting' ... wonderful seeing the birds and the branches with their dew drops ... (rain ones I know!) ...
ReplyDeleteHave a very happy New Year night tonight ... cheers and all the best for a great 2016 - Hilary
I'm glad you aren't experiencing those yucky floods where you are!
DeleteLook at Cyril the squirrel who looks in a great shape! So good you will have snow! I love the white stuff :-) the rain, after having lived in Belgium which is not my homeland for what seems like forever now, I am not such a big fun of rain. I really appreciate blue skies :-) have a wonderful last day of this year Betsy! I would like to wish you and your dear ones an amazing New Year 2016!!!
ReplyDeleteThe forecast calls for snow but none has fallen yet! Sure is dark outside, though! I'm so glad to have reconnected with you this year, Jitka! So fun...especially Instagram!
DeleteMe too Betsy! isn't Instagram so much fun? And you learn bit more about me from there too ... haha .... Even though the dog takes the headlines somehow ... lol
DeleteYes...so much fun...I love it!
DeleteOnce again, beautiful photography! I love the mix of neutral greys. And even the "highlights" are rather subdued. Isn't nature wonderful? All of that just laid out right before our eyes, if we only take the time to notice. And you do a great job of noticing. And sharing.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate that you notice, Don. :). And don't forget my challenge to you....I want to see some beautiful photography from you, too!
DeleteSame dreary days here....except we do have snow on the ground...
ReplyDeleteLove the Purple Finch photo...
I don't seem inspired to take photos lately....hmmmmm
Happy new Year Betsy...
I am sure more great things are on the horizon...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Oh, it's probably just the holidays...busy! And there isn't a
Deleteyard full of flowers to photograph. I bet the inspiration will
come back soon. :) Maybe a lovely moon! And where has Red gone?
Those pumpkins should be getting soft! lol...
They are soft....and covered in snow!
DeleteWe had pork chops for dinner too!
Great minds! :)
DeleteLove that shot of the squirrel!
ReplyDeleteHe's always doing tricks out there!
DeleteI like the color grey, it's a calming color.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a little House Finch there, those are sweet little birds.
That squirrel is quite talented, I love to watch them, but oooh they can be so destructive when they choose :)
Hope you are enjoying your New Year's Day.
~Jo
Yes...house finch....they are so sweet and I love that pop of color!
DeleteI can't believe we have a squirrel with all these cats. They do play chase!
I hope he's content to continue living in the neighbor's tree and only come here
to eat seed.
Love that acrobatic squirrel. Happy New Year to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteIsn't he fun? haha...
DeleteHey oop m'duck, If'n you wanna see some real dark grey, usually called "light black" here, then come t'Mother Country where everthin is grey at the moment. I suspect even the snow will be grey, if we get any at all this Winter!
ReplyDeletelight black? hahaha....
DeleteHappy New Year to you and your family! I love the color grey, too and looking at the beautiful pictures you took makes me love grey even more. Great shot of the squirrel, too... :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Dee! Hope you've been well! Happy New Year!
DeleteHiding away
ReplyDeleteAt your bay?
Yes, I have been hiding
Deletejust snuggled in and abiding.
Have you missed me and my posts?
I've been an absent host!
I miss you too! :-) happy resting, you are so right about that!!
