Party Prep

We're having a little party here tomorrow night!
A red velvet cake is in the oven.
I'm checking the crystal for spots
and searching the house for white elephants gifts!

      so no worries, really! :)

  3. Oh yum....that is such a pretty color of cake batter. We decided to do a funny white elephant for our family this year and I'm doing the same thing trying to find something to share. We can also be creative and make something silly...so I have my work cut our for me.

Have fun at the party and save me a slice of cake. I'll have it for breakfast tomorrow. haha

    1. Isn't it pretty? I like it a little darker like that...added Hershey's Special
Dark Cocoa to it. That batter tasted good, so it should be ok!

White elephants are so much fun! Making something would be interesting!

Cake for breakfast...yes, I think that's a fabulous idea! That will be me
      Monday morning!

  4. That is my very favorite! Whether it's Red Velvet cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory, or frozen yogurt from Orange Leaf (not sure if you have those stores in OH), or red velvet brownies with cream cheese icing, or on and on I could go. ha ha. In one way I'm glad I don't need to go back to Cleveland, but in another way the trip to OH would be worth it just to eat some of these delicious foods you make! I'm with Wanda - enjoy the party and save a slice for me!

    1. I have not heard of Orange Leaf! I'll have to Google it just to be sure I'm not missing
something right here under my nose! If you ever come through Ohio you must look me up!

    2. Orange Leaf is a frozen yogurt place where you get a cup, pick the different kinds of yogurt you want, add toppings like nuts, sprinkles, etc., then you set your cup on the checkout scale to see how much it weighs and pay according to that. They have many flavors of yogurt to choose from, and they have a Red Velvet yogurt that I get every time! It's the BEST!!

Have fun with the white elephants. Do the kitties hang around when there is company?

    1. I'm sure there's a neat story about it's invention. Seems to me it is a
Southern American thing...maybe a restaurant chef....I'll have to look it up!

  17. Hi Betsy, Found your blog last week. Via Maiden Hair Ferns, I think. Just finished reading all of it. I would love to give you a trophy as big as the Empire State Building. You are a warrior and a Champion to mankind. When the RAK came around I couldn't believe my eyes. The haters???? To think that it made you cry just killed me. I wish you would do it again. Cheers and well done girl!!!
